I was driving to LA from Santa Monica, stopped at a red light and Dean Martin stopped at the side of me to turn into Beverly Hills. I was in my early twenties at the time. He was a good-looking gentleman. He looked at me and smiled. A wonderful memory.

This video has two different houses. The pool at Dean Martin’s house is not the same pool shown in this video. This video is deceptive.
This video has merged two different houses into one. The vacant Martin house at 1:46 is 1123 Via Monte Vista and their friends house (for sale 1.8 million) at 1:55 is 447 West Mariscal Rd. Confusing to say the least. The white piano was a gift from the Martins to their friend.
You are right. I thought the same thing. The front is not the same as the back. The pool is not the same.
Is the pool shown at 3:55 also from Via Monte Vista as it is definitely different from the other pool images in the video?
@@neverinthemoment That is from his friends house at West Mariscal. Dean’s pool at Via Monte Vista is much smaller and has been drained for years. Confusing video.

What a beautiful tribute to this gorgeous and historic home. I love Palm Springs and everything about it and I think Dean Martin was the most talented member of the "Rat Pack". The ultimate entertainer who could truly do it all.

The last time I saw this house it looked like a dump. Ready for the demolition ball. Even though the site looked a disaster, its historical vintage made the asking price prohibitive to all but those with an Musk disposable income.
I just wondered, who could let this place fall into ruin? Sad. Very sad.
Well look at Marilyn Monroe's home. The current owners want to raze the home. Why? Its getting too much attention.

The place had fallen into a state of disrepair for a number of years. I'm glad to see that it has been restored. Trivia: I'm not sure how many people are aware of it but Dean Martin's daughter Gina married Carl Wilson from the Beach Boys. Carl had two sons from his prior marriage and one of them bought a similar "Alexander" style home just a few doors down from this place and had it renovated. He referred to Jeanne Martin as "grandma." She was still living in this home at the time.
Yep. The Wilson, Martin, and Hinsche families are intertwined. Billy Hinsche was in Dino, Desi, and Billy with Dean Paul Martin. His sister Annie was Carl’ first wife. Rocco Martin also played with CW and the BBs.
@@99somerville I've met Annie a couple of times and one of her sons. She was very nice. The first time was at Expo. The second time was at a charity event. She looked great at the event.

I grew up with him making constant appearances on my TV. To me, he's just another boozer and smoker.
They did a great job restoring it. . I like the simple design. Its nice and uncluttered. Relaxing and beachy

Another channel has a couple of videos on this house. One from 3 years ago where it looked doubtful that it could be saved. What a great restoration job they did on it. A lot of modern upgrades but it still has that mid century feel to it. 1.8 million seems reasonable, we'll see.

I sold a tear down in Vancouver for one million American about five years ago so one point eight for that place in that area seems like a bargain to me even if it did need complete renovation. Bet you couldn’t buy it now for anything near that.
My favorite part of the house was the living room. Dean was my favorite and he was always having fun.
The interior of the house was not Dean Martins' house. The Dean Martin house still has the original kitchen towards the front of the house. The house you are showing was built by the same builder.
The front view belies the simple grandeur of the interior. June 2024, the house interior is now gutted for remodeling. At $1.8 million, hardly exorbitant given $20 million as more the norm.

When I was a kid, my folks took us to Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. We looked at some of the stars’ homes, including Dean’s. He was playing basketball with his kids. I thought that was pretty cool.

“Los Angeles house in Palm Springs” makes no sense.
How can it be Dean's Los Angeles house in Palm Springs? You know the two cities are over 100 miles apart, don't you?
Not sure how accurate this video is. Other videos from not so very long ago show another story, of a still-abandoned rather run-down former star's (Dean's) house. Another comment, in this section, claims that this residence seems to be two properties (the other close by) as the 'same' residence. I wonder, but don't know. So, whatever has happened by now, this home did sit empty for quite a long time. Yet all this aside, Dean Martin was a great singer and performer....an American entertainment legend. Blessings Dean.
I don’t think the interior shots are the same location as the Palm Springs house. Looks like that might be the house that he had with his third wife?? I drove past the P.S. home a couple months ago & it still has a construction fence around it.

Dean had several homes in Palm Springs. This is not the one that fell into disrepair. The one is the video is on Mariscal Road. The one that had fallen into disrepair is on Via Monte Vista.
Your title "Dean Martin Los Angeles Palm springs home"; is not accurate: The tilted should be Dean Martin Riverside county , Palm springs home. Get your facts straight.
It's been done deliberately.
All piano benches used have a place underneath for sheet music where you lifted the seat up to access the space underneath. I even had one when I was a kid.

Kids don’t require that much space like us adults. Heck, with bunk beds, I grew up with four other brothers and sisters in a three bedroom house. No big deal. You must be super wealthy, haha.

I like Palm Springs - you think they’d have kept it in good condition - DM iconic.

The "tea dance house" Was NOT owned or LIVED IN by Dean Martin. It belonged to friends he and his wife Jeanne would often visit when in Palm Springs. The house in the video which looks somewhat unkept IS the Martin home where they LIVED when in Palm Springs and was given to his wife after their divorce in 1973.

Just saw a recently done video of this house. It has been sold and was very neglected at the time of purchase. It has been completely stripped down to the studs and is being restored.

I visited Palm Springs a lot I was a Corporate Pilot and went there often. I went to see Franks Home at least twice but sadly never Dean Martins. A regret I have to take with me. Franks Home was really very nice. I went out to the pool and wondered how much FUN they had here. Still Do. Those had to be a Great Time in America

Even though it’s 1.8 million it is not a home. I would think that Dean Martin would’ve had. It’s not that elaborate Dean Martin should’ve had a much more beautiful home and larger home.

Palm Springs was such a beautiful area until the Hispanics started moving in, but I guess you could say that with just about any neighborhood or city.

Yes LA is far away from PS . I used to work for Dean Paul and his wife Dorthy Hamill and I used to see Dean at the Rivera Country Club every day .Dean had a parking space near the front door with his name painted on the pavement ,no one else had that as far as I could see. No one was the same after Dean Paul`s death at such a young age.Ronald Reagan helped Dino get to be a pilot . Dino was cited as a teen for having an illegal weapon and I think Gov Reagan helped him out of that one . Dino played tennis at SMC sometimes and could have any woman he wanted just from his looks alone IMO .BTW the house is cool too.
at LAX the pilots call Hopes house TWA east when calling approaches! they will be in the pattern in 10 minutes.... at 285 mph
I live halfway between them. Takes me an hour to drive to PS. It’s nicer now than it was in the 1980’s. It’s gotten pricey given that there’s no industry but restaurants and hotels. Probably the best mid century modern area in the country.

I love the house. The only change I would make to it is to add other colors to the walls and floors. Too much white. Maybe a few more pieces of furniture to add more warmth. But overall, it would be a great party house

Your pictures are showing 1123 N Via Monte Vista (Dean Martin's home) but the Tea Dance home was his other home at 447 W Marsical Road.
Didn't look like something of classic Hollywood star would live inn. Like they said more of an entertainment house. I didn't like it. Look very cold and very open. No privacy. But looks like something of a man's place. He love it so. I Love Dean Martin though. Love him in Rio ravo with John Wayne. R.I.P. ❤
1950's decor all around. Nothing attractive about the house at all. He was such heavy smoker hopefully the house has been rid of cigarette smoke.

This is not his backyard of the home that is being redone. Pool is way smaller no spa. And the house is way smaller than this one. So I don’t know what you’re showing. It’s currently outdated with right now not like this renovation. Unless he had two. But you showed the correct frond with the construction fence
It makes me so sad how all his smoking truly caused so many complications for Dean in the at the end of his life. Too think he had it all one time and then it’s gone and it has come it a close. As it as for so many of those Hollywood. I loved the variety show with Dean Martin and all his dancers as a little girl I was one of the dancers and my Dad was Dean Martin 😂
That’s how much I loved him and when he and Jerry Lewis did movies together and of course the Rat Pack. It’s sad that there will never be another time like that.
