Robert Redford is one of the greatest!!! He is a legendary actor, director, Artist, and environmentalist who, despite having more than his fair share of heartache, took it on the chin and carried on giving of himself. He is a legend of a man and an Icon.
I watched "Barefoot in the Park", as a kid, years after it was made, and became a fan. Not only is he one of the most handsome men to work in Hollywood, ever, he's devoted his life to what he believes in which makes him one of the greatest.
Love Robert Redford, he's been through so much in his life, but he's a great actor and a great humanitarian and someone that speaks up for the environment. It will be sad when he leaves this earth, he'll be missed, but I hope he's got some years left. Thanks for this story. (from Sandi)
My twin brother Alan was Bob’s pilot of choice flying to film location searches in a Learjet. He even was honored to be a guest at Sundance. Al always considered Mr Redford to be a super class act. Unfortunately my dear twin Alan was killed in that Lear in 1991 at Aspen, Colorado. He was fighting for control against the other pilot’s bad control inputs as he valiantly tried to save the plane and passenger. Getting to hear his final utterance was an incredible GOD sent to me. RIP dear loved twin - I’ll be catching up to ya! 💞
"Our Souls at Night", in part because at 74, I related to the often unstated loneliness of senescence. I am a widower and feel the utter loneliness at night that he and Jane Fonda described in this film. I have enjoyed all of his films and the chemistry that he shared with Paul Newman was captivating. As I watched "Our Souls at Night" I adored the chemistry he and Fonda had and ended up watching "Barefoot in the Park" and "The Electric Horseman" again. Bravo, Mr. Redford!
He was a very talented person. He has endured many years of pain. I pray that he finds the peace that can only come from God the Father and the healing that he needs from the pain of his past from the Son of God. God bless him in his years with his grandchildren imparting to them his life's many lessons. God bless him and his family.
Lovely biopic of Robert. I appreciate knowing about his first marriage, which explains a mystery for me. While working in Provo, Sundance was a wonderful getaway for me from the pressures of corporate life: beautiful pine cabins with simple comforts and lovely ambiance. I saw him several times while there, clearly private and not wishing for intrusion so I respected that. This was the late eighties, and Sundance wasn't primarily known for the film festival but as a wonderful inn and restaurant for folks who needed respite from the suffocating LDS environments in Provo and surrounds. I have always admired him; now I feel I know him a tiny bit. Thank you so much!
I don't think Mr. Redford would agree with your thoughts about LDS people. A close friend and her husband (also our friend) had dinner with Robert one night at Sundance in the late eighties. My friend's husband was young and on staff at Sundance. Robert invited our friends to dinner, and during the conversation, Robert asked them what religion they were. "Latter-Day Saints" was the response. Robert was thoughtful momentarily and said, "That is the religion I would be too, if I was religious." His first wife, Lola, was also a Latter-Day Saint.

Two of my very favourite actors have gone on to becoming outstanding directors and film producers: Robert Redford & Clint Eastwood. Their contributions and works will be remembered for a very long time. And so sorry that Redford endured the pains of losing both of his sons
This well-done narrative about Robert Redford's storytelling -- in which he focused on "things that matter most" and "learning and growing" -- brings out many inspiring lessons for us all "to make a difference." However, too many one-after-another photos come and go too quickly, distracting from the story. Photos very often don't fit the narration at the time about Redford's age, his life and work, and the important women and family in his life. Rapid fire, gee whiz montages have become common in movie trailers and other videos. In my opinion, they assault the senses and normalize a society of short attention spans, distractions, and disorientation -- to our great detriment. Have the courage to cut. Photo editing would be better to linger on far fewer carefully chosen photos that fit the narration, strengthen the storytelling, and give audiences time to focus on, and reflect more, on what they're seeing, hearing, and learning. Just because something can be done with technology, doesn't mean it should be done. Often in storytelling, less is more.
I loved Barefoot in the Park perfect with Jane Fonda. Butch Cassidy and the Sunday evening Kid and the Stong with Paul Newman and This Property is Condemned with Natalie Wood.
A native Utahn, I have several Robert Redford stories. One wintry Sunday, friends and I were enjoying brunch at the Foundry Grill (highly recommended) at Sundance. Mr. Redford and his young grand-daughter came in, covered in snow, fresh from the slopes. They stomped their ski boots to get the snow off and sat at the table directly next to ours. He quietly asked me if he could place his New York Times on the other side of my chair. When I said, "Of course!" (I mean, he owned the place at the time) he flashed that smile. It caught my breath. They sat, and a server promptly asked the grand-daughter what she would like to eat. She said pancakes and hot chocolate. Mr. Redford looked at the server and said, "For two." We were careful not to interrupt Grandpa's time with the very cute 7- or 8-year-old girl. I truly tried not to eaves drop, but we were seated elbow-to-elbow. (His hair is magnificent.) His conversation with her mesmerized me. He was laser-focused on her and everything she said. He gently asked the most interesting questions of her, why she used a particular word ("neat"), and what she thought about a variety of things. His questions required her to think deeply and be original. Virtually everything he said to her was quotable--wise and unexpected. If only every child could experience that quality of attention from an adult. She was answering a question when we stood to leave as invisibly as we could. He briefly glanced at me and nodded. His authenticity and intelligence are tangible. He is extraordinary.
" Rubbing elbow with the biggest stars in the world" , yeah, we need to start realizing how unimpressive that actually is. Stars are merely people who make a huge living doing make believe like we all did as kids. Why then do we think so highly of it beyond reason? Why do we worship that? They are just people with a lot of money for pretending well and entertaining our down time, they are no superior of lofty, just people like you and I. Be careful who you make a hero, they will always let you down if you do.
He is so multi-diverse and it would be fun to view his early canvases. Adored his performance opposite Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and the panache of directorial excellence in Ordinary People. Intriguingly, he endures throughout the decades as a consummate artist and superlative story-teller. An icon I thoroughly admire! I paint some myself.

I loved him in A Man Called Horse ! Beautiful soul. God Bless him and his loved ones Always XXXXX
I think you are confusing him with Richard Harris who played the lead role.
He’s so handsome even now! He’s also a genius !
One of a kind
Loved him in Up Close and Personal❤❤
He is a fine actor. It really none of our business.
got a crush on him in his movie Indecent Proposal ❤
Me too ❤
Robert Redford led the power of movies in the 1960s through 2000's. Never met him, but I sure did enjoy him.
so his wife was the love of his life. but then.......................he went on to a multitude of women - so much for his love of his life right?
I questioned the same!
Love the documentary and have always been a fan, not least because my grandmother from Kentucky was a Redford.
My 🙏 for Robert & his family is John 3:16; for the greatest Life not yet seen❤️
The way we were ❤
Love his smile ❤
One of the most handsome men I have ever known.
Barefoot in the park was with Jane fonda
Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, and Indecent Proposal, I think that’s what it’s called. Made me cry at the end. So many, I loved them all.
RR/Streisand final scene in; 'The Way We Were', ohhhh what a kicker........
The ending broke my heart. She really still loved him, and he loved her. Tragic to think that their political views tore them apart.
My favorite Redford movie - The Sting ❤
Good Person ❤
My favorite: The horse whispere
