FG Knot With Rizutto Finish adalah simpul leader to braid paling halus (tidak berasa pada ring guide) namun sangat kuat dikelasnya, simpan video secara offline agar bisa di tonton ulang, jangan lupa subscribe untuk informasi video terbaru
This is definitely the best looking FG knot on the internet.
Made it look so easy. I usually tie my fg leader at home before a outing. If i'm on the water and need to tie a leader it's usually a uni-uni because it is fast and easy. I need to practice how to tie it the way you do it and maybe I won't have to go back to the uni-uni. haha
After your 20-25 wraps of braid around fluoro you need to do at least 1 half hitch & with line tensioners or gloved hands pull with serious pressure on both braid & fluoro to get braid to bite into fluoro which will make a slight color change in the braid when sufficiently tightened. Thats a pretty critical step in this knot. After that clip tag end of fluoro about 3/16 away from knot & alternate half hitches with braid around both till you reach the mushroomed end of fluoro (done with a lighter) next continue with another 6 or 8 alternating half hitches on braid around braid...THEN do your rizutto finish. A dot of glue just on the whipping ( not the entire knot) will ensure nothing ever comes undone. While the GT knot seems to win the strength test the fg seems to be favored by every deckhand Ive talked to. Some say fg for jigging. For casting I like the jansek special fast easy 100% strength knot - tag end through eye twice creating 2 loops in line. Tag end through the 2 loops 3 times. Wet & draw tight. Done. Never failed yet. You will know you tied it right when tag end sticks out at a 90 degree angle from mainline & the knot looks like a neat small tight fist.
This gentleman has nice knot videos and seems to know what he's doing. Tying the Rizzuto finishing knot right after making your 20 turns is perfectly fine...it works. Secondly, if you go to 3:25ish in his video, he first tightens the Rizzuto using his hand and reel. At 3:45ish he then tightens the main line with his hand and reel. Cutting the momo/flouto tag end as close as possible to the braid works just fine also.
I also put in a single half hitch after the 20 turns and proceed to tighten from there with my hands.. I then tie the Rizzuto and tighten only that.
Bottom line: both scenarios work and are equally strong...it's just personal preference. Other than the one half hitch, I don't use more. To me they're a waste of time and have zero added value. If you think yours is a better way with more half hitches, go for it, that great. Just know that your way isn't the only way to tie a successful FG.
I've only known the Jansik knot for tying on terminal tackle, not braid to mono/flouro. For this particular braid to mono/flouro video, what's your point in talking about a terminal tackle knot?
Maybe you should make a video showing us how to do it and let's see how many views you get.

the great thing about this version of the FG knot is that the knots from the half hitches dont hit the guides and become frayed and eventually unravel...I love the FG but that has always been an issue after a hard day of fishing but with that being said even with the regular FG never have had one break as long as you check your leader....I will be trying this one!! After the 20 winds around the leader i do 2 half hitches to hold in place then finish with risuto this way the half hitch is protected by risuto and if risuto falls apart(unlikely) im still protected with half hitch and its no thicker tnan without them

Inmy experience if you dont really tighten up the the hitches to grab onto the leader before you used the Rizutto finish that you run the risk of it slipping. its what i have seen from guys that say the the FG knot doesnt work. once you teach them to tighten the knot they have no more problems

you need to tighten it after the very first hitch. (Since you said "hitches") you're running the risk of tightening the hitches instead of the actual fg itself. which will lead to the same outcome.
Tie it right and you should not have to burn the fluoro

hasil finishing simpul membentuk gumpalan yg agak besar, sehingga gumpalan simpul itu menjadi hambatan saat simpul msuk ke dlm kolong ring joran, trus lama2 simpul pengunci itu pun jd kendor dan simpulx terbuka karna bergesekan dgn ring joran

Done everything right, and I agree nail clippers are the best/easiest to trim leader and braid BUT when you held that lighter so close to the FG without wetting the FG or squeezing it to protect it you scared me!

People who fish for Thresher sharks (or other sharks in general) use this type of knot. It's needed for when you want a mono / flouro leader on top of braid. Braid backing for more yards of line, and a top shot of mono / flouro for abrasion resistance against structure or the fishes teeth.
This is a variation of the clinch knot... and go to the river with the last light of day to make one of this and quickly....

Lilitan kedua fungsinya memang membuka lilatan pertama om, sehingga menghasilkan lilitan baru dengan ujung pe yg terkunci, gampang nya d coba aja om, nnti pasti faham sendiri 😁

This type of FG knot is completely the same with mine, unless the addtional half hitch on the last line before cutting it to avoid fluffy finish like that. It can slipped into the rizzuto finish.
