Awesome review David! I knew you'd like the Q901 because I love the Q903. They are great inexpensive brushless cars. I really like the truck body on the Q901 more so than the Q903's truggy body. As you mentioned the only real thing the truck needs are oil filled shocks just like the Q903 because the stock friction shocks are really bouncy. Thankfully that's a really cheap upgrade. I measured them at 70mm but they are supposedly closer to 80mm so 80mm should work and that size is much more common than 70. Oh and Joe Sanfilipo ran his Q903 on 3s and it is great in the low rate but nearly uncontrollable in high rate according to what he told me.
Yeah as you know I have quite a few of these Xinlehong trucks in my collection as I like modifying them and they are durable for the price. This brushless one is awesome, I hope Xinlehong also convert their bigger scaled trucks to brushless and start releasing them! You know me, I planned to try this on 3s but it won't be in low speed mode. I don't see the point because low speed on 3s will be just like high rate on the 2s. Cheers for watching Ryan
@@PERTHWESTOZRC yeah, I would also be driving it in the high rate on 3s as well. I bet they will move to brushless on the larger trucks soon.
Great little RC MT, When I drove mine the first time I had it in low speed and though this thing goes pretty damn good than realised it had a high speed switch and Wow that little thing was stupid quick for its size. I also have the 1:20 brushed version as well. Great video man 2 thumbs up thanks for sharing it.

In the uk this is £104 - £129 & pounds are more expensive than dollars..
But mine £129 did come with 2 batteries in the box & 2021 March ones have oil shocks (but I bought 3s batteries & better charger) pity cos I just paid £30 for an oil set to upgrade to…but I will say the ones that it has don’t feel like great oil shocks even new & full..
I’ll only run 10 mins per time with motor fanned heat sync & small fan for the esc unit..
Need to wire in the fans 5v reducer & maybe tomorrow I’ll actually try turn it on for the first time..with bits like charger & 3s battery etc I’m over £220 for the car & upgraded parts.

Ive got the Q903 and noticed that the wheels crack SUPER easy. 3 out of the 4 wheels have cracked right where they meet the tires on the outside. This was not bashing hard at all. Have you noticed this since I see several of the models you have use the exact same rim and tire? I plan on getting some Traxxas E-Revo 1:16 stock Talon tires and wheels with 12 mm adapters to hopefully fix this. Thanks
I've only had my 9125 truck tyres crack a bit but thats after some serious bash session, the other XLH trucks I have are fine so far...thanks for watching and your comments mate 👍

Exactly my point! So, did the 12mm conversion did the trick? Would you be so kind and send me the link to the parts please? I need to do the same, specially since I've also upgraded the lipo which added some more weight to it.

Yeah bro it's a pretty awesome upgrade to the brushed 9130 i have, it is decently fast already, can't wait to try it on a 3s though 😎👍

I have the 9125 and love it but it really needs to be brushless as the power is not there for flips. This thing is a little beast but a bit too small for my liking. I hope we see a brushless version of the 9125 and maybe in 1/8 scale. How good would that be!!
Throw a 3s or 4s in the 9125 like I have done and you'll see it flip alright lol. I have added a wheelie bar to it and oil filled shocks! Many videos in my Xinlehong playlist on the 9125 and other models in my collection if you want to check em out. Yeah I agree, I was saying to someone the other day that it would be great to see Xinlehong make bigger brushless trucks, i personally think that is where the company is heading and these smaller 1/16 scale ones are just the beginning, to test the waters and see if they are a popular seller with hobbyists! I have the max speed test of this awesome little Q901 that I filmed today on 2s and 3s coming soon so keep an eye out for it! Cheers for watching and your comment mate! :D

Cheers for watching Luis, tbh I think buying upgrades to make the 9136 brushless like this q901 may not be worth it as you will need to upgrade everything to metal gears like the diff's and axles to make it durable enough to handle the extra power, it might be better to just purchase the brushless model as RTR as it would cost less. Hello. I want to install such elements in this car. Model: LiFePO4 26650 3pcs -3S, I have a question for you: can this battery fit? Can I fix it inside? Will additional cooling be needed? (maximum voltage 3.6 * 3 = 10.8v minimum 7.5v) how will the battery cutoff work at what voltage? Or is it better to do 2S -?

How does this compare to the Haiboxing 16889 (brushless that just came out)?
On par with it build quality wise, but this one is faster and can handle 3s

I'm impressed by the little Monster Trucks! Sometimes the dumbest things grab my attention It was the color/see though body! And u were on the mark on your knowledge of a band Why I didn't know about is mind boggling!Every thing that need to shine in a first video u did! Great Looks ,nice though out setup of truck, Clean Green Bushless power system,,it ever came with headlights Real lights. And it goes without saying I think the power is👍👌I found you now you got good power with all 4 of those tires grabbing and able to find air in places you wasn't looking to hit a jump!

I’ve recently subbed to your channel I have Arrma truck 1/8 scale. I’m looking for the best out of the 1/16 scale off road for my son..I see this one has all metal axle,diffs, drive shafts ect…Just needs upgraded shocks. I was looking at the Smaxx and the SG 1601 and HBX 16889. But they need upgrades. Just need u tell me which one to buy with all metal please. P.S. I used your link to buy mini infraction
This q901 from memory has all metal components inc diffs, the hbx and Sg 1601models have plastic geared diffs, thanks for watching 👍

Hello, just came across your channel!! Need some help with my little truck! It's a SG 1601 pro brushless! I ordered the SG and some Q901 paddle tires for it! But they don't work ! Just wondering if Iam missing something?? Thanks for any help!! Subbed!!
Maybe the hubs for the wheels are different, not sure. Q901 paddle tyres are probably only compatible with the Q901

Thanks for watching, any small aftermarket oil grade shock will do the job, just measure the length of the stock ones on it and compare same size online 👍

@@kkam7044 the hbx 16889 I reviewed is very similar in performance to this q901, as for the 144001, well that's a lot better all round buggy for speed and bashing... Feel free to check out all my videos on each and decide 👍 All are good in their own way I think... I do like them all
Is it possible to put in a 2s battery with a higher mAh, for example a Li-Po 2S 7,4V 2200mAh?
Would I get a longer runtime with higher mAh?
Yes you can, and yes you will have a longer runtime. More the mAh, more runtime you will have. And don't worry, no risk of burning something with more amps

Yes I recommend this truck for the price, the Haiboxing 16889 (HBX) is another fun little 16th scale truck similar to this Q901, both have the same sort of build quality
