Mine did 37mph! on a 3s 35c ovonic and it last over a hour and does not heat up!

Does it run reliable /not break on 3s? Esc doesn't break? Doesn't overheat?
Max Musick i did the 3s test yesterday on my q901 i did 33 and the motor does get warm but thats about it esc is great i rain the car for an hour and everything is okay 🙏🏼

Bought 1 of these for someone who needs a hobby & one for myself to go with them. Already got a decent Digi 2 Ch. From the old nitro. If the cheap esc/RX cock up should be easy enough to stick a separate esc & RX combo if it's a standard 3 pin brushless motor.

@@PERTHWESTOZRC Great. I did laugh at '4WD Ricer' sticker. It is indeed. Although a little smaller than use to in past, it is professional quality. Luckily they include another plain shell. For £60 it's decent. Back then that would've bought just the (very plasticy 2wd) kit or just the cheap 27mhz radio gear. I'll get onto some dampeners.

Yeah for a little truck she goes pretty good mate, I've had no issues with lipos puffing up, that usually happens either with very old age of the lipo or incorrectly charging them... cheers for watching SP 😎👍🍻🇦🇺

Mine on 3S goes into thermal overload after a few minutes even on low speed mode. Fine on 2S. Might try a cooling fan otherwise it's just a 2S without some serious esc, receiver & motor mods. Mind you I really like it. I wish they make cars like this & the 144001 with a receiver ready option, so I can use a decent quality TX.
I couldn't agree more. I have been meditating on whether fitting a 3S capable ESC and a new receiver for a while such that I could use my 3S 2200mah batteries and get more punch but I wonder if these batteries won't weight to much for bashing.
You guys are probably running a high c rate battery I run mine on the stock esc on a 3s 35c ovonic battery each last over a hour and I run both through it then run my 2s 50c 5200mah battery for over a hour as well and it has no problems on high and running full speed runs
A 3s and 2s lipo is the Battery type which u can. Buy and early plug in which gives it more speed
Correct 3s lipo is 11.1v and a 2s lipo is 7.4v

A friend of mine and me bought this car, awesome. We also bought a 3s battery 2200mah, but I realise this battery is too much for the car. My friend used this battery with factory charge and was good, but when he charges the battery completely, the ESC burnt after two minutes.
I think we can't use these batteries with this rc car. Do you know how can we use these batteries without burning out ESC? Maybe, we could use a BEC? I think a BEC won't feed the ESC with enough amps.

I guess a bec could help, but I think the main issue was you used a large mah lipo that possibly caused the ESC to burn up or ran it to long periods of time without rest, thanks for watching
@@bodhiwoolf6783 I think there are several causes ... The first is the voltage of 3s battery, second ambient heat, third the size and weight of the battery and the fourth .. the overheating in the esc ... If you don't mix up all these factors .. probably your esc won't be burned!
Are there problems with overheating the standard components When using 3s ?
For long periods I guess there could be but I’ve ran this truck a few times and did not have issues so far
Did you Run the 3s akku till its empti or Change it to 2s Wehn you drive 1/2h or longer ?

Pretty quick but I don't trust it on 3s it's ok for a quick speed run but for a 10 + min bash session in off road conditions something may burn up.
I'm gonna install a fan on the ESC like i do all these other XLH trucks... haven't had any issues yet bro and i bash em all for a full cycle on 3S 😎👍, Good thing about this one the TX has low speed mode also so you can be easier on the trucks electrics too.. Cheers for watching Steve!

Sorry for late reply but no there's nothing in the user manual about 3s... I gauge it off how many amps the ESC is anyways whether it can handle 3s or not

Both are good, but I prefer the HBX 16889, check out my videos on that one👍
Wow, I was wrong. I thought the SMAX was slower than the Q903 on 2s but I got 26 mph on 2s with the SMAX.
What would you recommend between the two overall?

Hi Michael you can buy small lipos that will fit this truck online at banggood or eBay..even amazon.. Just make sure it's the same size as the original battery and not any bigger...the plug connector type is called a Deans T-Plug... Hope that helps and thanks for watching 👍

I can’t find the battery dimensions and I don’t have the original here yet because I literally just made purchase yesterday.. I do want to have full potential so the 3s is a must .. this is my first ground vehicle.. Everyone trying to run 3s on them recognize this is a 35a esc . So do not go higher then a 35c 3s lipo mine runs great on the ovonic 2200mah 3s 35c lipos each battery last up to a hour and does not over heat or over load the esc or motor the esc can handle and is actually Ment for 3s if not it would not recognize it’s a 3s lipo once you turn it on when you hear the count of heaps when the 3s is added mine hit 37mph on those batteries!
I disagree, this is a very old video and mine only lasted a couple more runs before the esc blew within a few mins so I do not recommend anyone use 3s on this low rated 35A esc for long periods

Thanks for the video. Why would XLH or other brands advertise their tops speed using 3S but design the electronics to run safely on 2S. Wouldn't everyone just be using 3S instead of 2S.. I'm always cautious to use anything outside its advertised limits. Love your videos! Just wish I had the cash to splash and get each RC that I like :)
Prob for reliability as if you use it for 30-40 mins on a 3s you’ll overheat the esc & motor…
Best thing is get a fan heat sink for the esc & motor & 5v reducer so you don’t blow the fans…use a 35c (standard is 25c which gives less pick up..2500mah gives longer time as your using larger output 11v battery & don’t use it for too long…so no duel batteries needed as charge time is also coolong time..there usually ok on 3s but don’t let it get too hot.

You'd need to add your own aftermarket transmitter and receiver, like a radiolink or dumbo rc branded TX, but then you would also need a new aftermarket esc as well

No this xinlehong q901 came out first 2 years ago, flyhal just copied it and renamed it under their brand
I did 3s on mind destroyed it just by pressing the throttle
that's unfortunate mate, risk you take... i've had zero issues with mine on 3s but rather run it on 2s as its fast enough as is!

Because the speed reader has GPS to record information of the speed, it needs to lock onto a number of satellites first so it can relay the telemetry. So that's why I mentioned that at the start...I was waiting for the GPS icon on the small lcd screen to pop up before I started the test...cheers for watching!
I have one and it can do 47 miles an hour on a 4S lipo! Shuts off real quick cuz it gets hot but that little sucker will run 47 mph I s*** you not
