  • Not only will you hear about all the fabulous features, Rodney will show you step-by-step how to craft a tone. It's an excellent tutorial that applies to any music genre & any gear you're using (preferably one of ours!).
    The SansAmp XB Driver is a Dual Amp / Bi-Amp / PreAmp / DI that integrates key elements from our most popular bass products -the SansAmp Bass Driver DI, Para Driver DI, Q\Strip and the dUg Pinnick Ultra Bass 1000- and condenses them into a single sleek machine. And just like that, you can go from traditional to diabolical.
    The 100% analog, dual-channel SansAmp XB Driver is a veritable vault of treasured bass tones. It is a sophisticated toolbox with 15 knobs and 3 switches. Intuitively arranged, like familiar amplifier controls, you can craft a broad range of bass tones without a PhD.

    Clean compressed low frequencies mixed with uncompressed distorted high frequencies is ideal for a bass to cut through in the mix. This unit accomplishes that!

    I love the idea of this pedal, but I have no idea how I would integrate it into my existing effects chain with other gain pedals. Seems like something that's really meant to work on its own

    Would the presence boost in the 'Bite' switch be considered high treble/Normal treble frequencies or high mid/normal mid frequencies? Also, on the drive channel, does any of the frequency knobs affect the the saturation of the Bite switch when engaged? Same question for the Hpf? Apologies for the stacked questions.

    • @Tech21nyc
      @Tech21nyc  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The Bite switch is high treble frequencies. The Bite switch is an independent circuit that is "pre" tube emulation. When the mid is set to 2K and "pre" it can add more bite or take away some of the bite if frequencies are cut.
      The HPF only takes away lows, so it doesn't really effect the highs generated by the bite circuit.

    • @timtapp5931
      @timtapp5931 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tech21nyc obliged for your response! I realize those questions may have been a bit confusing. Last question please: does the bite affect the mids in either scoop or boost fashion?

    • @Tech21nyc
      @Tech21nyc  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@timtapp5931 The Bite adds a presence boost and cleans up the low end. It is recommended for higher distortion settings where too much low end can get flabby although you also have the Crossover function as well.
      We get these types of questions a great deal but in the end the XB Driver like all of our products was designed and tuned by "ear" and all the functions are integrated to achieve the desired outcome. A few minutes playing the pedal with your bass, through your rig is the best way to see/hear whether or not it will work for you. Reading specs only gets you so far.

    Can you bypass your effects loop ?

    • @Tech21nyc
      @Tech21nyc  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The loop is only active when the pedal is engaged. When nothing is plugged into the effects loop, your signal goes straight to the outputs of the unit.

    • @xdaniedx

      I know it sucks and I don't know exactly where you live but alot of European countries have Value-Added Tax (VAT) which is higher than sales tax here in the U.S. And that makes products more expensive in Europe. US sales tax rate is in the 7-9% range while the average EU VAT rate is around 22%. But the VAT is already included in the European price. The $500 price you see for us in the United States is before our sales tax is added which we pay when we purchase the Sansamp.
      There's also the distribution costs to ship products to Europe. We all know how expensive fuel is these days so that gets added in as well.
      Then there's the currency exchange rate. Right now $1 United States dollar equals .92 Euro. So with the U.S. dollar being worth more than the Euro that also makes the price higher for you guys.
      So the higher price for you guys has nothing to do with what Tech 21 is doing. They aren't purposely raising prices to make more money from you guys. It's all the things I mentioned above adding up to make it more expensive, unfortunately.

    Darkglass obsolete

    • @faithnoman2635
      @faithnoman2635 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I don't know about that. Just because something has more features doesn't mean another thing wasn't made right in the first place. Example, the Darkglass VMT is one of the best drives I've had, and I've had many, many pedals, many of them being Tech21(I'm a fan of them as well). But I don't like Darkglass' turn towards digital pedals as much - that's where I am a big fan of Tech21. 25:52 is a great example of why I like Darkglass' upper end crunch compared to Tech21's.
