As a 62 year old who grew up watching these types films on late night television, especially in the 70's. Your videos are so informative and funny every time. Keep up the good work Mark.
@@MortalAnonymous Uh, as another 62 year old with a late birthday, I was probably 2 years old still when this film was released. Of course, the OP might remember more as he was probably 3 haha
@@varanid9 Oh, I wasn't referring to this movie specifically. They said they watched several of this type and I was just curious if there happened to be any relevant-adjacent information. Like if any other movies used them or if it was one of those promotional stories that float around for a few years in public consciousness for being weird. If someone heard anything about how those posters were supposed to be "listenable" tho, I'm genuinely curious. I love novel bits of older culture.
"Why did I decide to use real salt?!" a. Because you're an idiot. and b. Because some part of you knew, no level of acting could match the real reaction shot.
Wow, you were really on a roll here with this one. There aren't enough laughing emojis for every slick zinger, hilarious edit, or subtle yet witty line. And the skit... the skits! 🤣 Right down to the last outtake, this is one of your best in my opinion.
To be completely fair, if someone was trying to convince me monsters came up from underground and waged war on the town as we drove through its ruins, and I was still a bit skeptical, finding actual dead bodies with actual spears stuck in them would really do a lot of convincing for me.
As someone who was alive while phonebooths were still a thing, they were used primarily as public restrooms. And for seeing how many people you could stuff into one...then the pandemic happened. Coincidence? Absolutely!!
You eating salt on cereal made me laugh so DAMN HARD!!!!!! I have had a crappy week and you turned it around. I’m so glad you didnt use sugar!! Your pain brought me joy.
In "K-Pax", Kevin Spacey's character (K-Pax, ironically) was to eat a banana with no knowledge of what it was, peel and all. They said they tried making a banana out of wax and other types of mostly edible products, but it always looked fake. Kevin Spacey just told them to get him a real banana and he ate it, peel and all :D
Bonnie was actually romantically involved with a Slime Person. The movie was supposed to be more of a Romeo/Juliet thing but they ran out of money so that had to be dropped
Lol, Bonnie looks to be on speed, but can you blame her? You go to Hollywood to try and have a serious career and you end up in something like this. Being high the whole time probably helped. She's really (unintentionally) funny, though. The actress ended up leaving Hollywood to become a family therapist, so good for her.
Seriously, the line, "Some people just want to watch the world burn," matched with the stare, was one of the funniest bits you ever did! I'm still laughing.
That "fog" obscuring much of the movie reminds of decades ago when I would go to the drive-in and a real fog would occasionally roll in and block out the screen. If it was late in the movie some people would just leave in their cars. I would watch the tail lights disappear out the exit. They were all I could see anyway.
DUDE! This has been one of my favorites forever! It's so cheesy, so slimy, so good!!! Mostly because it has a goat. I mean, you never see a goat in many modern movies. They were used more back than but goats may come and go, and the goats of today are mostly unemployed. They could use a sweet role in a movie like this, even if the crew was forced to eat that goat in lieu of pay on the last week of the shoot, or so I've heard. The inclusion of a goat helps to really put this movie in a class by itself. Great vid! Fascinating!
Mark, your content is absolutely fantastic! I can't help but hit the like button before even watching. You truly are one of the best creators on TH-cam. Thank you for constantly providing such brilliant and entertaining content! :)
I have been listening to the MST3K version of this movie frequently lately, good background while doing housework or shopping. Fun timing on the video. I love these kind of old movies. Check of "Planet of the Vampires" from 1965 if you want an interesting one. Vampires in space kinda deal, pretty good production value for the time. Has a "First Spaceship on Venus" kinda vibe. It very much seems to be a strong influence for the Alien films.
Dude, Mark, you put more effort into your skits than some people (Seagal, Breen) put into their entire movies, and they look really good and are genuinely funny. In this one, when you’re talking to the overly happy lady, the “no.” so matter-of-factly after you suggest she goes away was so hilariously placed.. I love this channel. Keep it up, man.
I think you have a bit of a crush on 'crazy-eyes' Bonnie, thou doest protest too much... Lisa's driving acting was top notch. She kept her eyes on the road, but tilted her head to indicate she was following the conversation... Give the girl an Emmy... :)
Love the skit, but how can you say you're not brave? You watch all these horrible movies over and over solely for our amusement. Not brave? You deserve a purple heart 💜
Great vid again! Your edit-ins for this one were extra-strong, too! Cackled at the first conversation you made with the gal, and then the 'doctor' in the commercial at the end
Your best "show" ever! Great movie to rip and some great comedy. As a side note the creatures from the " Horror of Party Beach" were defeated by salt as well....which proves how dangerous salt is...
I also noticed that the Marine's rifle changed. In the earlier seems he had a bolt-action 1903 Springfield. In some of the later shots he's carrying an M1 Garand, which is a semi-automatic rifle.
Hi Mark, TH-cam suggested this to me...perhaps because it's one of the 3 movies I use to lull myself to sleep nightly. I have played it over 100 times, but have never seen the end. So thanks for that. The other 2 video sleeping pills are "Beginning of the End", and "The Indestructible Man". Your channel is fantastic, I immediately subscribed. Cheers from the Peoples Republic of SoCal!
Man I unironically love this movie. I don't know what it is about small isolated apocalypse stories but they're just fascinating to me. Even though the name doesn't make any sense givin that the monsters look like the thing from fantastic 4, and the salt solution is pretty ridiculous. I just like the idea that a small amount of people are trapped in the city and trying to survive. It reminds me of resident evil 2, or the original dawn of the dead. I would live to remake this movie just a little cleaned up and with a better title. Thanks for covering it. Ps. As others have said, I also originally saw this on mst3k. A number of movies you've covered have been riffed on that show also. I recommend maybe checking out "squirm" or either (or both) of the "boggy creek" movies. Thanks again.
How many people have you doomed to slime with THAT reference in the end credits. The kinda comment you don't expect on TH-cam. The kind kind. 😄
I laughed so hard during your skit with Bonnie that I accidentally shot my coke up my nose.
You 'accidentally' put coke up your nose.
...right...
Love the Bonnie skit.
“Accidentally” put some coke up yer nose, eh? Sure bud 😊
...should I be hearing that 80s song, "White Lines (Don't Do It)"?

Agreed, they just keep getting better with each one!

When it starts out black and white with you in a suit, it's gonna be great! 😃
Spiffy Salt is probasbly your finest work so far Mark!!
To be completely fair, if someone was trying to convince me monsters came up from underground and waged war on the town as we drove through its ruins, and I was still a bit skeptical, finding actual dead bodies with actual spears stuck in them would really do a lot of convincing for me.
But would it convince you with a goat?
@@NathanTarantlawriter A goat stuck with spears?
A little bit still.
Not as much as the human bodies would.
how can you NOT love Bonnie's energy?? lol
Ran out of budget in 9 days? That's long enough for Roger Corman to make 3 movies!
I knew the Alien 2 quote was coming: “Nuke it from space. It’s the only way to be sure.” Thank you, Mark, you don’t disappoint.

Went into the movie thinking it was The Smile People. I was very confused when the creatures never smiled. 😀
Your dyslexia problem has been noted and approved😀
LMFAO! The salt advertising skit was hilarious, definitely one of the best you have made so far. Phenomenal work.
Oh Mark. You could’ve put sugar in the Spiffy salt box and we wouldn’t have known the difference. Now THATS commitment to your work.
I was thinking that your skit at the end included sugar, but apparently your commitment to realism is stronger than mine.

I think Bonnie was in shock. Either that - or she's secretly in league with the Slime People.
Bonnie was actually romantically involved with a Slime Person. The movie was supposed to be more of a Romeo/Juliet thing but they ran out of money so that had to be dropped
@@jlarrybrewer1149 Lol didn't know that. Traitor Bonnie!!

She was definitely better off. Hollywood is not a good place.
The conversation between Mark and Bonnie was priceless😂😂😂
Yeah alright, that's hands down my favorite into the movie skit so far, that gave me some legitimate hearty belly laughter.

Sure is a good thing they have those guns so they can club the monsters.
Man I need to meet a girl like Bonnie. What a sweetheart. Always upbeat & positive.
Maybe the first manic pixie dream girl?
it's drugs that you're seeing. you need to meet a girl on drugs, but not too much drugs
This is THE best channel on TH-cam. A lot more entertaining than half of what's on TV.
I'd like a WMMW t-shirt with Bonnie's crazy smile on it, and a quote saying "He's a Science Professor!"
Wow, your insert with Bonnie was HILARIOUS!. She seems a little touched in the head for sure. Thanks for the laughs!
She was definitely a “pick me” girl, who was happy all the competition had died.
I am in actual tears laughing right now having just watched the Bonnie skit. Buddy, that is one of your best. 👏🤝🤜🤛
2:47 Great reference to one of my favorite films. Thanks there Cpl. Dwayne Hicks!

Another fantastic episode, Mark. I am still chucking about the kid who is "approximately 10 years old" at the end.
