When I was seven, the poster for this looked so cool. SoI begged my mom to take me to see this. She did. Thirty-six years later, and I’m still apologizing to her.
That's nothing...When I was like 6 I begged my mom to rent the toxic avenger, you know cause I liked the cartoon....HOLY FUCK...the movie is NOTHING like the cartoon....I still have nightmares of being strangled by my intestines because of that film...30 years later....
Baron Feyd - saw TA when I was 11. The kid getting hit by a car and then getting his head crushed was more than a little excessive. Then the gleeful way the characters reacted to it nearly made me throw up. Dislike the movie to this day.

Most of the bigger TH-camrs pay money to get their content promoted on the platform. The major American talk shows are really bad for that. I come to TH-cam for folk like Mark, not to watch the same kind of boring stuff on mainstream TV... But that's how TH-cam is heading.

This community is probably the most loyal fan base I’ve ever seen. I’ve been part of it for about 6 years now and it’s amazing how you consistently get over 100k views every video. If not 100k at least close, and sometimes way more. Speaks to your contents quality Marky mark.
But it's usually 3 years later when we get this type of quality but now we are getting it on a weekly basis.. This man is an imposter, Where is the real Mark?

Reb Brown? Star of iconic films like Howling II, Strike Commando, Space Mutiny, Robowar- you get where I'm going. While I can't say for sure of his acting talents, I certainly say he's got a talent for picking films of the not-good variety.
I remember this movie. Spoony had reviewed this years ago. I'm writing this comment before watching to say, yes, you'll have PLENTY of material to use.
Theory: This man was so mad that he got woken up by his neighbor that he wanted to make a vid about it but he couldn’t make a video about just that so he made this.
Being the regular victim of a maniacal home improving neighbour, I enjoyed every second of Mark's initial rant. It's ageless. I won't ever have children myself.
@@sblinder1978 You know, as much as I like watching that show, you need to have watched the movies they laugh at, when you want to get more out of it than their reactions, clever remarks and creative editing. I find Mark's bad movies format more informative than Best of the Worst.
@@MarvinFalz I agree that's there's more to be had from bad movies than we get from BotW, but sometimes I prefer the digested version to sitting through a 90-minute turkey myself.
"ok mow in the afternoon" Literally every time last year I had a barbecue ( and i mean LITERALLY. I have counted, checked twice and made a graph) in the afternoon, my neighbor decided to mow his lawn. Whatever the time, 2, 4, 5 or 6 PM, saturday, every time we sit down, he fires up the lawn mower. I'm starting to get the feeling he doesn't like us that much...
Good old Reb Brown. "Strike Commando" is still one of my favourite movies ever. Frame advance on a decent VHS in the late 80s and finding the cut from actor to shop dummy with a mop on its head a split second before it explodes...Priceless.
A great movie for you to review would be Kingdom of the Spiders. Its about a small town in Arizona that gets infested with tarantulas. It was made in the 70s, so you know the sound track is gonna be pretty sweet. But the cherry on top is that William Shatner plays the main protagonist. So worth it!
Still one of my all-time favorite films to this day. I rewatch it gladly over any current superhero film. At least I know It will be worth my time, every time. "Yoooooor's Woooorld..!!~"
Thank you for posting this! I remember being a kid in the 80s and seeing this on cable. I had gotten nostalgic once and tried to buy it but, of course, no one had found it fit enough to port it to DVD (though this was some time ago) Yes - it was incredibly cheesy, but the 8 to 10 year-old me absolutely loved it! You should do "Megaforce" if you haven't already - it's from around this time and pretty much in the same vein - just more sci-fi instead of fantasy, but equally and adorably terrible! Better lines in it too: "The good guys always win - even in the Eighties!"
Like you with this Yor movie, I saw Megaforce as maybe a 9-year old and loved it so much. My uncle had cable, which we didn’t, so it was an extra treat to get to see and I never forgot it. I revisited it many years later and loved it no less, but the plot I ignored as a kid completely baffled me as an adult and I’d often make friends watch it with me to see if they understood beyond two forces fighting, one being Megaforce. They were often confused and these people went on to clerk for federal judges and work at some of the best NY law firms. But still, what a great distillation of so much that made “bad” 80’s movies great and to this day I want to own a “MegaDestroyer,” the dune-buggy vehicles of theirs. Believe it or not, those same vehicles were studied by the military and were used in part to design the desert patrol vehicle used by US special forces. Edit: You love em in red and you love em in blue, but most of all you love em in blue, am I right? :)
If Sam Jones (Flash Gordon) is a discount B-movie actor then Reb Brown is the 'all sales final' version of Sam. And I noticed Reb's real voice was dubbed, was it hard to understand his mumbling?
I remember watching Sharknado and just immediately hating everything about it. It was the first time I've seen a movie attempt to portray a B movie... And I got scared. That's when I knew there was money to be had in the B movie style. The funny thing is, it's surprisingly hard to create a good B movie, regardless off funding.
I’m a 40 yo dad of 1 six yo daughter. I wake up between 5:15-6:00 am every morning, no alarm clock needed. However, the best thing ever is being alone, awake in the quiet of the morning every day for 1-3 hours!!!
This guy sums up every dad I've ever known, including my own, I live on the other side of the planet, so it must just be a global thing Dads do, a bit like how old people wait till you are walking right behind them before they randomly stop for no reason.
The director's son used to have a website where he gave a lot of background info on his dad's films. Apparently, this was meant as a TV Miniseries, but it was recut into a movie. The full version never aired.
Hmm, how about "Xaver und sein außerirdischer Freund" (Xava And His Alien Friend), a rather weird, but very good Bavarian movie from the 1980s about the village idiot (Xaver) witnessing arson on the local discotheque by the bullies. However suddenly an alien crashes down with his space ship, and Xaver helps him by hooking him up with the local mechanic who takes a look at the space ship. He figures out that they'll need a special pump commonly found in old firetrucks, so they use the local beer festival where the alien wins a beer drinking competition to cause a distraction to steal that pump from a disused fire truck. And there's that wonderful romance and probably the best dialogue ever about how long things take.
Just subbed to your channel based on this review. I actually found the video as I jad this movie on my wishlist (I don't know why). This had to have been one of the funniest movie reviews I've ever seen. Between the random rants and the description of Yor having to repopulate the earth with the Androids, I couldn't stop laughing.
I used to be angry at my father for making such noise on a Saturday morning. Now I've become a father and I've started doing such things. Your fears are justified.
My brother has also became one of those fathers but it is because his kids wake him up at 6:00 on weekends. So now he spreads the joy to his neighbours.
I’m happy to say I actually watched this in the theater on a date back in high school in 1983. I recall the GF and me warning other people about how bad it was!

I have been watching you for years and I really respect your work man. You kept doing your thing even if didnt get toy millions of views but it surely made us laugh and smile. It’s shame the trailers spoil the twist for this film, but I love it all the same! According to the Blu-Ray commentary, reb has nothing but good things to say about the locations and the other actors. Despite his reputation for screaming and shooting, he’s a nice guy.
Awesome stuff as always. I watched this at 7:08 am as lawnmowers buzzed and thundered outside my windows so I had to listen to it with headphones. Ahhhh...the suburbs...

This had to have been one of the funniest movie reviews I've ever seen. Between the random rants and the description of Yor having to repopulate the earth with the Androids, I couldn't stop laughing.

My brother has also became one of those fathers but it is because his kids wake him up at 6:00 on weekends. So now he spreads the joy to his neighbours.

It’s shame the trailers spoil the twist for this film, but I love it all the same! According to the Blu-Ray commentary, reb has nothing but good things to say about the locations and the other actors. Despite his reputation for screaming and shooting, he’s a nice guy.
