All imma say is that umbra is completely free and quick to get so here's the thing... A flipping 5 second crafted warframe Is busy shitting on 90% of all warframes in the game including primes. Also just to remind you. Every warframe in the game TAKES 3 AND A HALF DAYS TO CRAFT. Not to mention how cheap umbra is to craft. Its like comparing the price and time it takes to get a good phone to how long it takes to save up for a decent PC and ship PC parts and then u have to still build the PC. And he's a dad so that makes him the father of every warframe.
in game play tho that causes buffs and mele combo to reset if you go into operator mod also the animation change to umbra is like a full second slower(huge difference at top end play) so objectively umbra is worse than base excal because base stats are meningless. people only try and say he is better than prime cus they salty about primes exclusiveness 100% guarantee if DE re-released prime nobody would use umbra.

And then u get excalibur umbra prime. The challenge has to be hard to get him since if he were added he would conquer the game completely in every way. And it would be a limited time event that lasted 6-12 months cause then it would be fair for everyone. This is my opinion and its just a suggestion so it doesn't really matter.

Me and Umbra got beef. He has more bugs than an entomology enthusiast club. Most of which stem from his Sentience passive he has (the one that lets him move and attack during Transferrance). Any Helminth channeled ability like Gloom and any buffs are deactivated upon entering transferrance. Sling Stun doesn't work at all, and he has a horrible rubber banding issue when switching from Operator to Warframe. For these reason I prefer using regular Excal and not Umbra. I mean, I literally have 5 Tauforged shards on my normal Excal and not a single shard on Umbra.
Umbra literally shud win almost all cause he is literally his own person for example iq immediately goes to 7mbra cause he isn’t just a shell controlled by an op.

Not to mention that sometimes the primes are easier to get than the regular frames. And when it comes to guns, typically they're way better. Phantasma is an outlier though, only has marginal crit increases which you won't mod gor, so it legitimately is like 4% more dps.
Umbra isnt that good sadly you lose all buffs on your frame (like dantes overguard buff for assists and kills) if you switch out of him to cast an operator ability or to kill the flying faces in eidolon hunt
Umbra is the worst version of Excalibur. When going into operator form it automatically takes you out of your 4th, making you have to recast it everytime and also using up more energy. Outside of that they all do the same thing, same passive just different skins

Comparing it to New War, its way more positive. New War have tons of plothole and it ignored important characters from previous quest. Parvos Granum didn't make a return despite he have already foreseen Sentients threat, The Worm Queen simply vanished and never to be seen again, Teshin and Erra only have a limited amount of screentime and got killed without contribute anything to the story in the quest, and Umbra didn't have a role despite having a lore build up to New War. Necramech and Railjack also have less than 5 mins of playtime despite being a requirement for the quest. The quest literally centered around the Drifter going full Metal Gear Solid through the entire quest. The Sacrifice at least explained how Warframes was made, and was a part of Warframe lore foundation trilogy alongside The Second Dream and The War Within.
Excal Prime is better in my opinion He doesn't have the Umbra slots so you can build him with whatever you like without sacrificing those slots. He has a better passive, hell regular Excal is better than Umbra. It's Excalibur Prime bruh
