Absolutely agree, Margaret! Age is not very important, but as women, we do want to appear better. I have always been a hat-lover, but now I feel the need to cover my hair more often since it is thinning...and it is warmer that way, too🙂 Nothing to say about the elegance it adds to an outfit. Yes, a smile is an irreplaceable "accessory".
I like your comment, I do look my age, I just don't ACT my age. I'm 62 dating a guy that will turn 78 in a couple of weeks. I met him at his age of 65. He was always in shape. He's my motivation for aging gracefully.
Love this video! With a fedora hat on my 73 year old head, I was rushing through the Denver airport, when a fellow traveler called out: “I love your hat, you’ve got swag, baby!” Wear a hat, get swag…
My grandmother was a farmer and she taught me at an early age, I’m 75, the importance of wearing a hat to protect your skin from the sun. I also keep sunglasses at the ready. People often think I’m younger then I am. I do believe it’s this 4 piece combo. Hat, sunglasses, lipstick, and a smile year around. Thanks Margaret for giving us the science behind it.
@@sixtyandme Thank you.🙂Grannie was on of the great blessings in my life. She often taught through actions, example and deeds. She will forever be missed by me.
I’ve always loved hats from wearing an Easter bonnet onwards! Now it seems hats love me! Hats are definitely good for us..cool us down in summer and keep us cosy in winter and now keeping us younger looking….yay! 🥰
I have worn a fringe virtually all my life and not only does it portray youthfullness but also I have less wrinkles on my forehead becaause of it. The hat is so cute so therefore young looking.
Margaret, you’re going to look fabulous in anything ! It’s your smile and your young attitude that tricks everyone into thinking you’re so much younger! I’m trying to be more like you every day, and enjoying my true age secretly. Thank you for all you do for us !
I'm almost 69 years old and I've worn hats since I was a kid. Just about any outfit I wear instantly looks better with a hat. I probably own about twelve hats and four baseball caps. I think lipstick makes a huge difference as well as sunglasses. I also love wrapping scarves on my head. I believe posture is very important along with a sincere smile. All of these things require little effort or cost but can make a dramatic difference in how you feel and look.
I read the title and thought, "Stand up straight and smile!". I agree with the hat and sunglasses though and like wearing both of those. I think footwear can be a bit of a giveaway, you can tell a lot about someone by looking at their shoes or boots.
I dont think it makes any difference personally. Hats partially shade your face. Showing confidence, dressing elegantly, moving easily, standing straight and being active to me makes a person look more youthful. That's just my opinion Margaret. Love your videos.
Hi Margaret.... love this lol and I don't think I will ever act my age, I didn't read the age rule book and don't intend to haha... Much love from New Zealand x
❤Hi, from beautiful British Columbia. We live on an Island that most of the permanent residents are retired. As a many-generation BluegrassGirl married to a Canadian, this tickled me so much. I have worn many types of sun hats since babyhood and sunnies are a must! Last Friday, we were at the local Farmer’s Market and it was a cool but dazzling sunny morning. I was feeling happy and cheerful, so I picked out a lovely petal pink sun hat with a pretty ribbon around it and one of my cutest Kate Spades sunglasses. I always feel very flirtatious and sparkly when I wear them but they are still classic. We were raised to always apply red or pink-peach lip gloss, a few coats of good mascara (curled of course) a bit of glowy BB cream and gold hoops or little hoops with pearls and a bit of blush. I was chatting with some of our sweet neighbours. All the ladies were British, Scottish and two French ladies of a certain age. Everyone calls me the baby because they all think I am barely fifty and our eldest son is forty-six! Without even thinking, it’s easy to use the sunnies and hat to unconsciously charm people a bit and smiling and laughing a bit too seems to take years and years off. A very handsome doctor of fifty two thought I was much younger than he and asked me to join him for lunch. This made me blush (still blushing at my age) our eleven year old identical twin granddaughters ran up to me and hugged me saying, “ Come on, MamaJ. Let’s go!” They are not my daughters I told the doctor from Yorkshire. I just teased him a bit that he was so sweet to say that. Anyway, this is a lovely video and very true. Subtle touches speak beautifully. My best lady friend is seventy eight , her charm and smile and kindness and cute sun hats and sunnies and enchanting laugh and accent literally keeps everyone guessing her age. Men of all ages too, flock around! I so enjoy your channel and your style!
Hi Margaret, Hats seem to suit you and can change your outlook on life I think. I often wear a hat, straw in the Summer and a variety of woollen and felt hats in the colder days. Often I wear them for fun way of looking at myself and at life and have some interest from others too. Love your videos.
I wish I could find a hat that suits me!! You look amazing in your hat. People laugh at me when I wear hats. Apparently I have a small head. Ha ha. And hats just fall down on my face. lol.
I am 1,000,000% sure people are not laughing at you. Because you are self-conscious, you’re probably making it into a bit of a joke and they are trying to help you not feeling uncomfortable. I think the secret is to find the hat that fits you. Now there are lots of cool kids hats that are very stylish and probably look beautiful on you have something that’s not very wide rim, but Absolutely sure you can find something!
I went on a Save Nature demo in London when I was in my late 50s. I wore a zany hat with animal badges on and sunglasses. A young man pased by, inspected me briefly, then handed me a leaflet for Population Matters. He must have assumed I was still in my childbearing years!!! Made my day 😂 😂😂
Sunglasses with lenses that are blue and mirrored. They are prescription, so I thought, why not make them fun? They initiate lots of smiles from others. Will look into hats. That would be great for bad hair days too. Thanks for the fun tips!
Making people smile feel happy with their lives. Is one of my goals too. We have so much to the world just buy simple smile. I’ve seen every single day. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week and thank you for your comment.
I'm not sure if hats and sunglasses necessarily make one look younger, but in that they give you more style, people seem to respond positively to that. I'm guessing it makes a person seem more vibrant and interesting. Your hats are very flattering. 😊💓
You look great in your hats. But at 74, I find hats make me look older, because they hide the top of my face, still unlined, and emphasize my lower face, which has aged. I do wear oversized colorgul sunglasses with light tinted lenses, which are fun. So, the hat trick doesnt work for everyone. 🌺
Lovely video, I guess I'm the only one who disagrees wearing hats make you look younger, well at least not on me, I have quite a bit of sun hats, b/c I just don't like getting too much sun on my face like I used to, always wore big/dark sunglasses, I will say maybe just a few plain straw hats look ok, just don't like how they make my face look, but a "smile" always makes someone look younger, I will keep dyeing my hair, until I've had enough, love make up, & I take care of myself by eating healthier! TY for your time.
Tbh I thought that particular hat made you look older Margaret - and young people don't generally wear hats, except for baseball caps, so not in full agreement here. I love hats though & generally wear a sunhat to protect my skin against the harsh Australian sun (in summer). Not altogether sure about people wanting to look younger - There's nothing wrong with embracing your age, confidently!😊
I agree with you. Wearing a hat is not particularly youthful, young people don't wear hats, and also, wearing sunglasses is like going into hiding, it hides your aging eyes. So no, I cannot agree with these remarks. Why do we always have to look younger? Just make the most of your own age and take good care of yourself. Standing straight always looks good, and a smile on your face too.
Amazing 😍 Wednesday. I love wearing 🤠 hat's that is not new to me and I like wearing 😎 sunglasses and I have several pair🎉🎉🎉 and you are right on with this, I have people just walk up too me and start a conversation just because, I have a hat on and they will say I like that hat men and women as well😂😂😂 I wear 😎 sunglasses because at 71 year's my eyes are sensitive too sunlight now🎉🎉🎉
I thought you would say "smile!" It's the best way to look younger. Helen Mirren says just stand up straight😉
You can tell you had fun making this video
I really did!!! ❤
I bought a cute baseball hat and visor thrifting after watching your video, Amiga!💚
Hello Elizabeth
Good posture really helps too.
Absolutely! That’s a very, very good point. Thank you for mentioning it.
That’s a fantastic tip

Love the sunglasses tip.

Very cool!
Hi Margaret,
Hats have never suited me but I never leave the house without my sunnies. And ALWAYS wear lipstick…♥️💄👄💋
Thanks for sharing!!

Great tips Margaret

Honestly, this is a very very stupid video. Ridiculous suggestions.
@@lisaa6099it’s just for fun and also hat and sunglasses help protect your skin and scalp from the sun. So really, it’s not stupid at all.
Wear western hat for ever...love it. Helps with cataracts...sun glasses when walk out the door is a must. Thank you for sharing! I need more hats😅
That hat is lovely! You are inspiring me to wear more hats especially hats with brims as I only tend to wear beanies ❤
Go for it!
I was so relieved when you started looking up at us! When you were looking down, the first couple of minutes, it felt a bit excluding! Just a thought.
I dont think it makes any difference personally. Hats partially shade your face. Showing confidence, dressing elegantly, moving easily, standing straight and being active to me makes a person look more youthful.
That's just my opinion Margaret. Love your videos.
i didn't either
but sunglasses def exude youth
@jmsl_910 my problem is I never wear mine.
if you wear corrective lenses, getting a light pink tint is also helpful for blurring eye-related tell-tale signs...
Pink lenses in eyeglasses will make your eyes look bloodshot and that is aging.
Hi Margaret.... love this lol and I don't think I will ever act my age, I didn't read the age rule book and don't intend to haha... Much love from New Zealand x
Love your attitude, Karen. Keep the sparkle.

Buy a hat in the childrens wear département as ot will fit a small adult head

honestly Bonnie I've had that hat for 10 years - i have no idea where I bought it! I find most of my hats in charity shops!!
Although one is not permitted to disagree....Wrong hat. Black is aging.
appreciate your perspective
You should be wearing sunglasses to protect yourself from cataracts.
I do but not when I record a video. What about you? When. You are recording for your channel so you always wear sunglasses?
Get ahead and get a hat !
