  • In this video we have a Samsung 48" Samsung 1080p LED Smart television, model UN48JU6400FXZA that powers ON but the picture never comes up. The television has a black screen and absolutely no backlight. However doing the troubleshooting procedures on this particular television is very simple. This also includes the Un55 and Un60, MU and JU series Samsung models in which the backlight will turn on and off repeatedly. Just start unplugging boards and it will lead you to the one thats bad. Unfortunately we troubleshooted this paticular tv all the way down to a bad LCD Panel

Parts, parts, parts, those suppliers love you guys and the parts cannon troubleshooting methodology. Most folks who attempt these repairs undoubtedly return the boards once the original ones are eliminated from being defective. There is a price for that too. Restocking, return shipping, plus original shipping costs add up quickly, close to $60, in this repair presuming you returned the un-need boards. In this set, I’m curious how you eliminated the driver board? it’s more likely than not that the LCD is NOT the issue.

Very great tutorial. Just wondering why didn't you disconnect the led panel and check if the mainboard works and the t-con powered up? Is this a viable way to check if there mainboard works and t-con lights up?

This is great. But let me understand. If you unplug the cable from the main board to the T-con board, when you power up and don't get back lights, your main board is the problem?

We’re you able to fix this tv ? Or was it a bad panel? And could not be fixed? I have a 75nu8000f. Keeps rebooting and red light blinking twice. When I disconnect the ldvs cable the screen is purple backlight on but no home menu.

Use tape on the ribbons to the driver boards I have done a few and it works either the first 4 on the inside or the outside of the ribbons

hi mate right the screen is blank, t-con and mainboard are ok, take off say the left LVDS cable and the screen shows half a picture put the left one back and remove the right and you get a black screen... fault is on the left side and the right is producing half a screen.
Start with some tape like 3 or 4 connection tracks of the lvds and place on say the left and put I back into the socket and check the screen, and if no change take tape off and move to the next 3 or 4 and keep doing so I have rescued a few TVs this way, a bit like removing the edge tab bonds on the duff side of the screen if you’re getting like slow motion on one side remove left then right lvds cable to determine the duff side then simply tear off the screen edge tab bonds that’s another one to remember 😊

You can still repair the panel in that situation, just use a tape method by blocking the clock signal ckv,ckbv1,ckv2,ckvb2 stvp

I have a Hisense 75R6E1 TV 75" TV. The backlights "flash" during start up, but immediately turn off. It has a picture using the flashlight test. I have no output voltage on the LED connections on the main power board. (94V output per board)
It has a label with HD750S3U71-L3B2\S0\GM\ROH 246789 on it, along withHL75JC22M9S119FNCP103, and I believe the replacement LED's are CRH-BX75S3U713030T14088BS and it states there are 14 strips.
The main power board has 4 Backlight LED outputs, and I am unsure how the 14 strips connect to 4 outputs, because when testing the backlights with a tester, I get about 74 volts on each connection to the LED’s.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Leave the tcon and everything else plugged in and unplug the connectors going to tcon from the screen. If backlights come on then you got a bad screen.

While its on.. go to settings. THEN PICTURE.
Auto Brightness Control, and choose Medium!!!!..... you can adjust picture mode, but it'll only keep the TV on with picture, if the "ABC" is on medium...

My son has this same tv and now the screen is cracked on the inside if that makes sense. Meaning, he dropped tv during a moving situation but, the screen isn't cracked at all on the outside of the tv. It blinks 5 times when you turn it on and it shows a bunch of horizontal and vertical lines and then the goes black after the 5th blink.
