    • @tcong9616

@@nathaniel781 I did really bake the board in the oven as prescribed. The baking time was about 10 minutes at about 250 degrees (can't recall specifically) and kept an eye on it to avoid "melting the board". Regretfully, after a few months of returned operation, the black screen returned and I ended up just replacing the ten year old TV.

My no signal issue happened about 2 years ago and I sent the board off to get fixed but tonight it randomly just went out again (it was working this morning). After that I had the same problem again and several times over and over now I can only use AVI connection. I was checking the msd capacitors around the IC and I found 4 bad ones but I am not sure if I was testing the capacitors right. Do you normally check those capacitors around the IC?.

is no "no signal" message. I tried on my others TVs, PS4 working perfectly. I tried to lower resolusion of PS4 on other TVs and then connect
on this one, still didnt solved problem, i tried to reset PS and make resolution lower, also not helping.

      only PS is not working.

After signal loss sometimes the HDMI input is not visible when attempting to reselect, only AV selection is shows on screen. You need to make repeated attempts before HDMI shows on screen. My Sony Bravia tv klv 40s-550A, HDMI ports not working after a lightening in my area, Apple TV and my cctv DVR which were connected to HDMI also broke. When I checked , the tv is working alright and other ports also working. The external input menu indicates that all the four HDMI ports are connected with devices, (no device is connected and ports are free) an arrow mark pointing outside from corresponding port. I am having fairly good knowledge of electronics as a technical person in maintenance of communication equipments, and little knowledge about TV. I appreciate your help in solving the problem. Sony service personnel suggested replacing main board which is fairly expensive as half the cost of TV. Looking forward to your suggestion. Thank you.

Hi Paul, My LG TV from 2010 seems to have the same issue for almost 3 months, what I tried:
    - I have used a hair heater to identify from where the problem come from: 5 minutes on the chip and the TV comme back to life for 7 days And the solution is temporary like you said because the issue have reoccured.
    - So I tried your solution and I resoldered the IC like your video but nothing happens. So I tried to reheat the IC with the hair heater and it worked like a charm. I have tried to resolder maybe 4 times the IC with good purchases and aterials but it seems that only the reheat of the chip make the IC reworking.
Do you have an idea or something else? Thank a lot for all your videos and help!

Your thoughts: I have a 75' (new) HDMI cable that when I test it on four different TV's it works perfectly. But, when I plug it into an HDMI input on my 55" Panasonic TV (2013 model) I have no signal. However the same HDMI input works with my ROKU device. The HDMI source is coming from a security system through a powered HDMI splitter. I'm at a loss.

    • @RSChris666

Could be signal loss with the Panasonic TV. HDMI cables at that length tend to start getting iffy about signal strength. You really want to keep HDMI cable's as short as possible to avoid this issue. Or convert to SDI cable, but the requires multiple converters and cable and can get expensive.

    Useful stuff !!!.
Sorry to bother you "again". But in a few videos back I sent you a question to see if the power supply board EEPROMS are the same as the vizio TV you mentioned in that video. I'm trying to fix my Sony Blu-ray DVD Home Theater and I just can't seem to find the whole power supply board so I thought maybe I can just replace the burnt part but I don't know if the EEPROMS are the same or where I can purchase them for that matter. Anyway, anything you can help me with will be much appreciated. Thanks, and keep doing these videos they are very helpful. Sincerely; another enthusiast, amateur electronic repair man.

    Hi Paul,
When you say a cable can be bad, what causes a cable to go bad? If it's a bad connection caused by corrosion, can the connector be cleaned with contact cleaner?
    Thanks a lot, Tom

Rather fatigue of contacts or bad manufacturing tolerances right at the get go.

Hi. I have a vizio xvt553sv. That reads no signal to all port connections.( hdmi, vga, usb, etc.) So I went ahead and bought a main board with all the port connections and still getting no signal logo on screen. I noticed on the led driver. There is a orange led blinking on it. Could it be my led driver or connections board. I don't want to spend on unnecessary boards. Thank you

what up, Tampa Tech? Here's my dilemma, I hope you can help me; I have a Mitsubishi WD 65 738 DLP 3D TV with working RCA Jack's, but all 3 HDMI ports all stopped working recently! Am I looking at a logic board fix? How much should I expect to pay for such said fix? My set is 5 yrs old and I just replaced the lamp in it this month. is it worth a fix, or should I just invest in a 4k and hang it on the wall? Thanks

I had a channel device that was mistakenly connected to the wrong power source on the television. After that, all the TVs that I connected the hdmi had the same defect (in all the hdmi inputs). Tvs almost do not work when plugging a device into hdmi, however, it works when the device has some kind of power source. Do you know what it could be?

Hi, I have a VIZIO M-Series 80" Class Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TV | M80-C3 for 1 year. All HDMI ports are not responding to the incoming signals. If any of the HDMI port is inserted the remote control loses all functions. So I can only watch local TV station channels. Had tried everything the Vizio support recommended but no result. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks. Allen

I'm having problems with my Insignia NS-32E320A13 TV because it says "not supported" for every cable box I connect to the tv. The boxes works with other tvs. And it doesn't give me possibility for changing the channel system (PAL/SECAM), it just show NTSC which is not supported in Mozambique (Africa). Is there any help?

I have a quick question that 'm having lots pf trouble with. I have a t.v. that I am currently trying to fix and I am not an experienced tech, I've looked at my power board and found the key or compass I guess is what you would call it. Anyways I've tested my main plug where it show voltages for standby and other things, but there is something that says DEV 5V, and that is my issue. It reads at 2.8 volts and if this is the problem I have no idea where this is located. The tv is a Samsung LN40B500P3F. I've researched and researched and just cant find my next step, any help at all would be appreciated. Thank-you and have a great day.

Good morning. My Onkyo Receiver takes about 20 minutes to provide signal to the screen. It seems that when I turn it on, it needs to warm up before it starts working. Any idea what could be done to correct this?

I'm trying to fix a TV for a lady I go to church with. It is a Toshiba 32L220U19 32" TV. She said she was watching TV when it suddenly went to a screen full of static. I checked it out, it will not receive any channels through the tuner. I can get a picture just fine through the HDMI input. Also, the audio is not working through the speakers, but works through the headphone jack. Is there a simple fix for this TV or will this require the replacement of the main board?
