I'm excited to hopefully see more in this series. I'm also happy you introduced me to this program because I'm interested in using it to document photos/videos of Van Halen's live shows!
Hell yeah! Really cool to see Grant on the podcast again. Was very interesting to see how Ryan was able to use the software where we can get a proper list on who used what on each song and the timeline of the gear. Super stoked to see the timeline get developed.
I know it's been a minute, but I really hope we get more update episodes to this. What you guys are making is so inherently valuable to Beatles historians and fans alike.
Hi guys. I’m new to your show. Love it. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t be too detailed! Regarding the slidey bit on This Boy, it sure sounds to me like he is using a slide. There is no fret noise when he slides up. Also, remember that that session was thejr first 4 track recording and they suddenly had the luxury of overdubbing without mixing down and losing generations. The slidey bit is 100% an overdub, mixed to centre in the stereo. It’s very believable that George would have been game to try a slide for an overdub on their new single on the day they finally could overdub properly. I also noticed that it almost sounds like a mix of unison piano and guitar on the slide bit, like they had done on some earlier recordings.
I'm intensely interested in this type of detail. I'm interested in trying to turn in a project covering the period of 1966 as a formative period in the conversion of the Beatles from Beatlemania to their post-tour period.
I would love to see more of all of it 😂. I'm really fiendishly awaiting the Strat episode. I've been wanting to know forever which songs the Beatles used Stratocasters on. Not sure how to use y'all's song by song gear breakdown stuff on computer.
Great idea. I vote with Sam that George played the Gent on IWHYH. I can't see any way that George's closing lines on This Boy were not done with a slide, even with flat wound strings. For a future topic: how Radio Wallaton is doing those "2024 Remixes?"
Last video popped off and I hope the boys keep this podcast going and maybe expanding to other 60s bands if the seemingly endless oddities and antidotes of Beatles trivia runs dry
Have you ever discussed microphones the Beatles have used? I have AKG C60 (Sullivan shows) and C28b used on Hey Jude and Revolution videos and the Get Back films. Awesome mics. Sorry no legitimate U47/U48 mics.
For Tip of My Tongue, I do think Tommy Quickly’s version is not how The Beatles must have done it. There’s a band called The Mascots who opened for The Beatles in 1964 and apparently were given the song. Their version sounds very Beatlesque and is the foundation of Apple Jam’s excellent rendition of the song for their Off The Beatles Track album.
@@GearThereEverywhereCheck out Apple Jam’s version too, along with the whole album. It’s their attempt of doing all the songs in 1963-1964 of songs the band gave away. They did a 1968-1969 series too, that was pretty good too. I love their version of Circles.
@GearThereEverywhere that does seem to be the general consensus, however I'd argue that the SG is probably the candidate because I can never get the sound as good on a strat, it's too thin!!!
@@GearThereEverywhere when you guys were trying to look up the alt take for this boy i think- yup just checked. at 26:41. wicked funny band from sweden
Make sure to comment if you’d like to see more of this series! Thanks for watching!
I definitely want to see more of this series!
Ditto!
Absolutely amazing job guys! I wish I had this when I was young but still incredible

I can’t wait to see what bass Ringo used on Yesterday! (Jk, but I am very excited for this series!)
I just started watching these podcasts but I'm binging them now! Excited to see the rest of this miniseries.

Yep, I’m sold on this series, so more please!
Great! This Thing is like the "Tune In" Of The Gear, There and Everywhere
Hope to see more of the timeline soon!

I love what you do guys !!!
I'd love to see more!
Finally Bernard Purdie will receive credit for all his input to the band's sound
Very cool, yes do it!
This is great! How about a filter for when Paul plays right handed strung guitars in the studio?
It's an excellent idea guys!! Bravo!
Is it possible to add a stem of each instrument?
I would love this idea
Love this deep dive!
Love the series. This is such a cool project
Fantastic!! This is needed

this is a great idea.
Yes, definitely!
This Boy slide part is an overdub. George played the J160E initially.
That flanger on the intro of Paperback Writer here sounds like my 1994 Zoom FX guitar pedal
It was actually just done by me accidentally in Audacity when trying to match the speed of take 2 and the official release
I love this!!

Cool. I wanna se more.
Finally some good fucking content

I haven’t heard the Mascots’ version, I’ll have to check that out!

I'm curious to know you guy's opinion on Taxman especially the rhythm guitar
Pretty sure they all think it’s a Sonic Blue Strat!

This is great, cant wait to sgt pepper
