FANTASTIC INTERVIEW!!!! The only great thing about the pandemic is it gave Peter time to create this 8 hour masterpiece rather than the previously planned 2.5 hour film...I loved every minute! Thank you for having the guts to get it done Peter, BRAVO for being a true passionate artist !!!
Once again the Beatles podcast leader sets the bar even higher. This will be the definitive interview on the Get Back series. Congratulations Allan, Darren and Ken…..outstanding…..and Thankyou Mr Jackson who is clearly one of us Beatlemaniacs 😊
@@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879Could he be completing an assignment in speaking at such length? For example, to maintain the fiction that the Beatles wrote all their own music.
I was also born in 1961 in New Zealand, but having older siblings I was marinated in the Beatles from the time I was about 4 years old... Their music actually shaped my ideas of what music should saound like. When I was 5 years old I was given the Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby single for Christmas. I still have it :)
Peter is such a GENUINE fan of the band, unbelievable how much he shared and as he said at the end, he really was happy to talk Beatles with people who would understand and appreciate all the nerding, lol. The post Get Back session photos he showed on his iPad, omg, mindblowing, I really, really hope that he can continue to work on stuff for Apple in the future! It's 1:45 am here in Finland, today's the day...! I will heed Mr. Jackson's advice and go to bed soon, have a nice breakfast in the morning and then watch the first part, with my heart pounding no doubt! What at time to be alive 😎
This was an historic interview. You folks should be VERY proud of yourselves. You posed excellent thoughtful questions that fans were hoping that SOMEONE would ask Peter Jackson. The beauty of this long-form interview format is that Peter Jackson was given the liberty to fully flesh-out his thoughts and ideas that the typical brief press interaction simply would not allow; and, as show-runners, you clearly were determined to give him the floor, and our undivided attention, without interruption. This is almost unheard of in today's media environment. The questions came after Jackson had exhausted everything he had to say on the given topic before him. If the documentary goes onto Blu-Ray, I hope they include this excellent presentation.....simply spectacular. Thank you very much....BRAVO!
This is mind blowing stuff lads. Peter has to be the best interviewee I’ve ever heard. There is not one single second of what he says that isn’t totally fascinating.
I don't see what's fascinating about George & John sabotaging Paul's plans; George throwing his toys out the pram and being terrified of performing in front of an audience! awww bless, and John, as we all know, also hated Paul at this point, and was just putting on a face for the cameras.
Came across this video when searching for 'Beatles' and 'Peter Jackson'. Wow, this is a whole new level of Beatles fandom and dedication. Appreciate the passion you guys have. Very excited for tomorrow!
Thank you so much to Peter Jackson for this interview and for setting the record straight after these years. Thank you, gentlemen, for this outstanding podcast. It is a tribute to your dedication to The Beatles.
Congrats Mr. Ken Michaels & Team for this exclusive (almost free form commentary-like) Peter Jackson interview. An ABSOLUTELY integral feature to watch/listen before the Disney + festivities begin in less than 24hours. Peter Jackson is one of us; an absolute Beatles fanatic. Apple Corps could not have picked a better person than Peter for this document/restoration/preservation project. I hope dearly Apple uses his services for their film archive going forward.
One of my favorite scenes is when Ringo and friends are sitting there in the doldrums, the morning after George quit the band, and it's all heavy, and then as if on cue, in comes a florist's delivery man and he says in a tone as if someone just died, 'These are for George Harrison,' and Ringo burst out laughing because the comedic timing of that is just priceless. I loved it, like right then I knew that Ringo was thinking, 'Oh, George will be back, don't worry, we're too close as brothers for this to be the end.' And I thought any of them would've had the same reaction no matter who quit the band, they were that close.
I keep re-watching this and recommending it to people who want to see Get Back. Or to people who have already seen it. I want Peter Jackson to be given all the Beatles material. Great interview, guys.
At this point I have seen all 3 parts. Its just incredible, almost matches my fantasy of watching the Beatles working up close! Mr. Jackson did a marvelous job, the best music doc I have ever seen by far.
Wow thanks guys, absolute amazing to hear all this from Peter Jackson, fascinating insights, even the die hard Beatles fans will find something they didn’t know here, so nice of him to do this for you and for us fans, main thing is he’s settled many worries we may have had about stuff not included or being white washed and this appears so not to be the case. I didn’t think it was possible to be more excited about the upcoming documentary than I was but after watching this -thanks 🙏🏻 guys and Peter.
OMG...THANK YOU. First up: Get Back is nothing...NOTHING short of a Masterpiece. Its part Time Capsule, part Time Machine, and part never-in-a-lifetime chance to sit and hang with the Beatles as they create timeless music. Second Up: THANK YOU for posting this extensive interview. After watching the 3 parts ive been dying to hear more about the process and yours is the one and only long form interview on the subject. brilliant work team.
THANK YOU for this. I could watch another 9-hour doc on the making of this film. I'm not even much of a Beatles fan but its surreal seeing these guys goofing around in HD.
Me too. I like the Beatles. They have a wide variety of song structures but other players move me more like Big Sugar and Little Feat and some White Stripes. I think Jack White's anthem Seven Army Nation proves that I am not alone in my Fandom.
I was in the street below when the Beatles Last gig on the roof was playing ,, it was fantastic to be there 1969.. Iv got a feeling blew us away very loud ,, I was 19 1969 was a great year for live Bands in London,, I saw a lot the Stones in the Park, Blind Faith, and many great gigs indoors .. but after all that it was like meant to be for the Beatles last gig that year ..
Thank you all. Brilliant interview. Most enlightening. 4 hours went by in a flash!! Peter certainly conned Disney into publicising 6 hours across the 3 films when it's actually 8 hours... MORE PLEASE!! Peter just has to get the extended version up and running for sale next year.. The longer demo versions would be great. 'Eddie" has to feature - if no video of their dogs at that time, use video of their other dogs like Martha or use photos... just get "Eddie" in the mix! Let It Be upgraded by Peter would be fantastic to complement Get Back in a blu-ray package along with a CD of complete demo songs or medley that I'm sure if the mono audio can be broken down like it has been then Giles Martin really will have some great material to work with... he could cheat and iron out any bum notes too to make something really special? So the message is to Peter - get badgering Apple and Giles to pursue the above...get talking!!! And then raid the Apple film vaults to retrieve those dusty cans and recover any more studio recordings footage for say White Album, Abbey Road etc.... in my lifetime please!!!! Well done guys!! God bless Peter Jackson for caring as much as a huge fan - which he obviously is. I wanted to hug him when he said he didn't want to be responsible for any of it not seeing light of day for another 50 years. All this content will still matter far into the future, but it can't mean quite as much then as it has to those of us privileged to have been alive when it happened.

Brilliant, had to listen to it again. When Jackson is talking about the inferior audio of the Nagra recorder and tapes it was new to me so it's educational too.
I will always be grateful to Peter Jackson for having corrected this long-standing perpetuated myth that this was one of the darkest episodes of the Beatles legacy. Instead, it a glorious story of redemption by 4 truly remarkably talented men who genuinely loved each other. Jackson let the movie speak for itself and what you witness is an unsurmountable pressure they put upon themselves, and yet they emerged with some of the greatest songs ever created. The movie truly humanizes them and shows the staggering amount of work put into creating their magic. Along the way you get to know John, Paul, George and Ringo like never before as 4 completely natural and genuinely nice people. My respect for them only grew from this movie. I’m sadden that this has been hidden for this long and we have lost so many of them - Linda, Maureen, Billy, George Martin, Mal Evans and of course George and John. Thank you Peter for doing this.
The power of pictures was triggered by the pleasure you heard and imagined. There was always so much personality that seeped through the music. My love of the Beatles started by sneaking into the record cabinet while home alone. I chose Stg. Pepper due to the technicolor cover that grabs you…then Abbey Road, Let it Be, Yellow Submarine and went backwards. Somehow The White album had been lost or never gotten. It taught me how to enjoy, how to listen then play. I can’t imagine my experience of life without them.
This is phenomenal my friend's! Thanks so so much for creating this and thanks to Peter Jackson for his valuable time... It means so much to so many to learn so much more with this new Let it Be footage, I'm forever grateful to learn more. Thanks again guys and take it easy 😊

Just finished "bingewatching" your videopodcast, it's half past three in the morning in Lueneburg, Germany. What a great four hours that was! Peter Jackson really amazes me in so many ways ( and now we know he'd make a great investigator too :-) ). Huge thanks to all involved!
Absolutely fascinating. Thank you all and thank you Peter. I will also take this time to thank Peter for the film Braindead, creating great memories from early twenties. I just hope for a longer cut of the film in the future.
Just superb. How fortunate we all are that a truly passionate and talented fan and director was given this project. The degree of detail and enthusiasm for it is very touching and impressive, to say the least! 👍
I think overall the 3 episode documentary is brilliant. Just some observations, though: 1- When it comes as a physical Blu Ray release box, the complete performances (at least the Rooftop and January 31 takes used on 'Let it Be' album) must be included. No interruptions whatsoever. 2- A menu select for performances only. 3- More audio and video bonus. I'm talking about the music, which is by far the most important thing. Surely there's ton of outtakes and material.
Wow, Mr. Jackson is a real trooper. This is a long video. Loving it. Looking forward to meeting MAL. In addition to a great documentary we get some exciting new audio advancements. Thank you so much.
This is truly incredible. A brilliant detailed insight into this Beatles project. Jackson is fantastic. Please put this podcast (or something like it) onto the Blu Ray release (if there is one!). I assume Jackson will do a commentary, and I’m hoping others who were around the sessions (inc Paul and Ringo) will do commentaries. Wonderfully packed with info. Jackson really was the perfect person for this project.
wow, this is fascinating so much info if you can watch the whole video. I think the extended will happen the standard release will make Disney a lot of money inevitable we get a longer cut. especially as a lot of people who don't have Disney + will wait for a home release. A phenomenal amount of work by Peter and his team. This Man deserves every acclaim going for this Oscar, Academy award I'm giving him everything.
Fantastic interview, and much respect for Peter Jackson taking so much time to chat with you all! I didn't think I could become more excited for this event, but Peter's information and dedication have me feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Congratulations on your interview with Mr. Jackson! This is a great way to get people excited for the new show this week. Great work gentlemen!
Outstanding! Congratulations!
Hello from Lithuania!!! Eagerly waiting for “Get Back” and thanking for this interview. It puts up a bitlomanish spirit!
What is Bitlomanish spirit?
@@laurawhite8778 My guess would be it's Lithuanian for 'Beatlemania.'
Watched and enjoyed Thankyou to you all peter is a safe pair of hands
Other than the Lewisohn show, this interview has SOOOOOO much insight. This and the other show are the best ones of the bunch.
Would love to have director's cut of Get Back and Let it Be. Thanks for the great video!!
OMG this is great. Thanks to ALL involved. Peace and Love.
wow, this is fascinating so much info if you can watch the whole video.
Wow, great interview. Kudos all around.
Fascinating....And probably the best TWST episode I've heard to date....

Fantastic interview, and much respect for Peter Jackson taking so much time to chat with you all! I didn't think I could become more excited for this event, but Peter's information and dedication have me feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve!
I religiously used to listen to PJ talk about filming LOTR on the extended cuts. I’ll gladly listen to him talk about the best band ever.
