- Another day in May and yet another mermaid! This time inspired by forgotten gods and tapestries.

theres a mesopotamian sea goddess called tiamat who's also the dragon goddess and i'm pretty sure the goddess of fertility too

I think she's named 'Fern'
Because she looks so gracious, gentle, curious and soft like a fern. Also Fertility related to ferns as they MASS produce. She also looks beautiful and spiritual. 💕💕

@@DinaNorlund Ooh that's okay I also liked the name Dragon, Butterfly and reef as she is named after a dragon fish thing, butterfly as shes just that DAZZLING or reef as shes a mermaid but that's okay thanks 😂 or maybe Moss, Sea-Petal, petal or Neptune as they just seem to fit her. Also will you be continuing your series of nettle and the hushushs? (I also always comment on your random creature videos)

While I was sketching ideas I came up with the idea of a forgotten Godess staring at a broken down underwater civilization (probably Atlantis) my favorite part was the hair and the ears! I don’t usually do backgrounds so this was a new thing for me. Loved the video Dina! It was so beautiful I stared at it so much! 😂How do you do it? Female sea horses lay eggs into the males pouch where the male seals them into his womb, fertilizes and gestates them until they are ready to be born. After birth he gets a special lap dance from his wife which gets him pregnant all over again. (Seahorses mate for life btw) they dance with each other almost every day of pregnancy and when one mate dies the other will spend considerable time to mourn before seeking a new mate. #relationshipgoals

woah, i cannot believe how cool this looks. I would never have thought a colored pencil would look so natural for line art, but goes along perfectly with the theme of the painting! I like the name eleaf (pronounced e - leaf). Gorgeous as always ❤️❤️❤️
Haha thank you! I love experimenting with the coloured lineart, even if the wax of the pencils sort of pushes the water? Not too badly though so it still works

Kereska (or some variation of that name like Kere or Reska etc) taken from dnd she's one of the Dragonborn's forgotten relms deities. She's the Goddess of dragon magic and magical creativity which seamed appropriate seeing as she's a leafy seadragon (hence the dragonborn race) and she's art piece by you so creativity 😂 the forgotten relms deity aspect ties in to forgotten gods theme nicely too. 😂😅

I just found you recently and I was super surprised to find out who you are! I used to follow you a lot on Colours3D on the 3DS way back lol. I found your youtube but never figured out that you were the same person. After accidentally finding one of your old original creatures (The one with the long hair on their tails, I'd like to see more of them!) on your DA and seeing your name, I was really surprised but happy to have found you again!

Wait, wait what?? colours3D? *googles* ... I don't think I used that program :o I think I used another "drawing" thing on my nintendo once but it was only with people in the room, not online. Maybe you have me confused with someone else??? But the DA is definitely me! I used to draw Chasers (the species) and I really miss those, I should do a video about them haha
Weird.. It was your art. They had those Chasers and a bunch of other pictures and characters you have up on your DA, except painted in 3D. Maybe someone was stealing your art then and making it 3D..? I don't know if you ever had another Pen name, but I know the Signature wasn't the same as your DA or TH-cam.
Just throwin this up as a possibility since ya said you like the whole mermay sorta thing and I'm not entirely sure if that's because of the theme/subject or overall plan of it:
But, if you do like the aspect of having the daily prompt I do know that June has it's own little thing goin for it like May did; that being Jurassic June!
Jurassic June is cool! I have also heard of Junicorns and Junebugs xD But I don't know if I could keep it up another month now that I am trying to get Snow Cat done, but maybe when the comic is finished I can do this again!
i was drawing a sea-themed dragon
a good name for her might be equelie ( eck-you-lee). the last part of the leafy sea dragon is eques, so eque, then add something that goes with it, lee, and twist pronunciation. ( thats my naming process for most things)
