Y'know, in Earth One the US government did have custody of Clark's Kryponian ship for at the very fucking lest 20 years. It doesn't seem out side the realm of possibility that they could have reverse engineered just enough technology from it to make interplanetary travel easier.

I LOVED Green Lantern Earth One. It's such a great alternative take on the GL mythos. Like, if we didn't need to find a way to integrate GL into some form of DC movie universe, I'd really want this take to be what they go with in a GL movie. At the very least, DC, can we get an animated version of this?
Scratch that. Can we at least get MORE volumes of this series by this team?

DC hit the jackpot with this one. They have a great template if they ever wanna make a Green Lantern movie.

I read this during the episode. As a Green Lantern nerd, I was going crazy trying not to get ahead of Sal.
And sidenote: Hal's captain implicitly gets fired from Ferris Galactic as a victim of nepotism at the end... Carol took her job off panel.
Beko did some amazing Alien comics for Dark Horse, hence the almost Alien feeling in the comic

All of these earth one books seem like really cool movie pitches. I really hope this book is adapted for the "upcoming" green lantern movie.

Just finished reading my hardcopy, and I want more of Earth One Hal Jordan. I love how the setting is in the distant future, with the lack of other superheroes. Furthermore, I haven't read comics in years, and this book feels refreshing.

I bought both volume 1 and 2 now it's time for a rewatch
Great episode about an excellent story. I love Green Lantern and I love the spin they put on the story in Earth One. I especially love that this story makes you feel like it could have happened to anyone. And for a generation of people who are looking for the next frontier, I think this story will resonate with them
The artwork has me really intrigued and I want to read this and hold in my hands as soon as possible.

I actually like this green lantern better than the normal one.
Me too, friend.
That's because the writer(s) can twist the characters and elements of the pre-existing title, just like ultimate spiderman, they can do anything because it isnt in the main continuity, which leads to pretty interesting take on characters.
Outside of this version and the one of the animated movie 'First Flight', I've never cared for Hal Jordan, not in contrast to any of the myriad other Lantern characters we _could_ focus on instead.
@@toastwriter617 while I like hal being an astronaut, the comic ignores some of the basic Green Lantern foundations Completely.
They should incorporate it within the story if they ever use it for movie.

rewatched Ultimatum yesterday, when we getting that Age of Apocalypse buddies!? haha i'm kidding you do you, and now that I'm finally back to patreoning [1 year clean and lowered debt by half] i can finally turn back on adblock! WOO HOO
This was honestly the best Earth One book for me, it took total advantage of everything GL has to offer for an origin and more importantly didn't over hype Hal and made use of Killowog and Arisia

I honestly really liked this book. Yes, it isn't green lantern that we know, but really, that's the point of earth one. I can't wait for what else has to come for earth one.

yay green lantern earth one i read this book and it was really good :)
the way i see it, the Lantern Rings are meant for a space police force that interacts with multiple different races so universal translation would logically be a basic function of the ring.
Anyone who reads Green Lantern comics knows that the Guardians are villains in _any and all_ Realities.
... Except for Ganthet and Sayd.

I really like Earth-One, I feel like it had a lot of refreshing takes on established characters, finger crossed for some version of Batman Earth One Volume 3 where he's now on the level of the Netflix Dare Devil and maybe start planting seeds for an Earth-One Robin.

jimbow laster my only real experience with the Lensman was a Japanese ova i watched as a kid and the summaries I've read. But having said that, I'd love to see more more inspiration draw from the series beyond Arisia and Eddore's names.

Ali Mulk Awhile ago Sal said after 10 episodes they’d do a crisis and when they did all of them Sal said he’d do ultimate Spider-Man instead. He’s been consistent with so far
adam quenano Fuck Yeah! I just caught up on all of them yesterday.
So super late, but I was waiting to watch this until I actually read it,(which I just did) but there are some interesting implications about Earth in GL Earth One. In Hals Nasa Flashbacks, it looks like NASA partners with some sort of Energy company to build the "Research Satellite". Hal is part of the project and helps build it in Space, but realizes something is wrong with it, and its not what it seems. But he doesnt do anything about it and someone uses it to bomb cities and takes control of either the US, or straight up the entire Earth. Which is why he doesnt want to go back. Out of guilt.
The last few pages also seemingly expands more on this. The lady firing Hals Captain says that they are a "One Party System", and you see a billboard of someone named "Colonel Jaxon". Presumably the person who took control of the Country. So I have zero clue how this could take place in the same universe as Superman, and Wonder Woman, but presumably it could take place in the same Earth as Batman just a bit in the future. But since they were all supposed to coexist who knows. That being said, it would be a very cool setup for Justice League Earth One if they have to team up and restore the Country to a proper form of government. Maybe Superman is in custody, and Wonder Woman went back to Themyscira, and Batman is only concerned about Gotham. Its important to note, that in Hals universe, this status quo is still pretty fresh. He says hes been in Space since the incident, and hes been there for 8 years.
Regardless, I hope we see more about the Earth One line at Comic Con.

Off topic, but...Anyone remember Fantastic Four: The End? Could be Back Issues material, the only book they have done from the End-series is Wolverine...Is it just my nostalgia that tells me how cool FF: The End was as a look into a possible future for whole Marvel universe? Kinda funny how it was my introduction to Fantastic Four and Marvel as a whole...But of course like the Wolverine one it freaking isnt a definite ending ;) I would like to see what Tiffany would think of Doctor Sranges role in that story...

I recently read that Earth One Aquaman from Francis Manapaul has been officially canceled :,( However, The Flash Eartg One is still slated, any ideas on its release?
Arisaia in the original dc universe in the original comics was a kid when she became a Green Lantern than because of a douse of WTF she becomes an adult and dates Hal Jordan who she crush on as kid and is the reason why she suddenly turns into an Adult because how incredibly gross that the reason is why dc has tried to retcon the crap out her age because of creepy things they did.
This book is amazing.
This would fit in perfectly in the DCU
I don't know how I missed this story, but it sounds really cool. THIS is the direction Green Lantern should go in, both in comics and movies. The art style is compelling. It has a lived in feel a la Star Wars.

Teen Titans Earth One operates with the idea that there are no adult heroes, which is why there were no sidekicks like Speedy or Robin. Even Wally was called Impulse, not Kid Flash and had his origin changed to fit the story.
