    I never fancied myself as a rapper...nor as a musician. I had this idea to pull a rap album, as a joke, for my animated show...
    2 songs into it and a few tutorials and I'm caught into this! It's fun as hell and I might just keep making rap songs for life.
    I just found out about your channel and after like 5 of your videos, I've decided to keep you as my main source of rap lessons.
    Tbh, your tutorials are the most thorough, but really simple to understand....coming from a visual-intelligence type person.
    Amazing job, you're doing here, coach! Got your free e-book too and can't wait to dive right into it!
    Mind if I give you a shoutout, to all of my 46 subscribers when I finish my rap album? xD

    Really informative video Cole! Helped me a lot, I was actually doing the double-head movement but in my own way, like sometimes for the kicks(1st and 3rd) my head will bob forward to the left while the snare(2nd and 4th) my head will bob forward to the right. I thought there were only 4 counts when bobbing heads. But after watching your video I learn that there is 8th and 16th bobbing movement within that 4 counts. So thanks a lot! I got the 8th counts now learning and perfecting the 16 count!

      +ColeMizeStudios Hi Cole, I have a question that I have to get off my chest, today is the first day I officially try to scat lyrics(Prior to watching your videos, I wrote lyrics without a beat), and I have a question. Most of the cadences I scat always seem to have 10 syllables and I feel that it isn't enough. How do I include more syllables into my cadences as I want to try to fit it within 13-16 syllables. I tried to do a few different cadences, but feel really limited. I know that one way to expand cadences is to imitate the flow of my favorite artist(study their lyrics and mimicking the way their saying it). Also I have another question, when you scat your cadence, do you actually count the syllables? Or do you record it down and then count it? I think I have previously ask this question, but I'm still abit unclear. Thanks in advance, bro!

    • @ColeMizeStudios
      @ColeMizeStudios  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +XterioR My pleasure! Just dropped a new one yesterday! I hope you enjoy it!! :) Thanks for the support I really do appreciate it! :) - Cole Mize

    • @ColeMizeStudios
      @ColeMizeStudios  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +XterioR Good questions! I think my video I just dropped will answer some of these questions. But even more will be answered when I drop my next video on translating cadence to lyrics. In short most of the time I don't count the syllables to my scat but rather memorize them and use them as a general reference. Unless I'm going for a really different and unique cadence I just learned then I may count it out or record them. You don't want to be 100% focused on cadence or your lyrics may suffer and you don't want to be 100% focused on lyrics because your cadence may suffer. You want to balance the two out. I hope this helps you out! Can't wait to share my next video with you! :) - Cole Mize

    Can you do examples with 4 and 8 count? For same song / lyrics? Just to see how it changes the rhythm

    • @ColeMizeStudios
      @ColeMizeStudios  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +ShowerApps The lyrics aren't being written to a count per say. The different counts are for building up your speed while staying on beat which the beat is essentially the 4 count. If you watch this video again carefully I explain the difference between rhythm and cadence and how cadence is how you dance to music on beat. I hope this helps clear things up for you. If you have anymore questions let me know. Thanks for watching and commenting! :) - Cole Mize

    Good stuff man, thanks for creating these videos, soo good. I would love to learn how to transition from a couplet or a quatrain to the next verse. For example if you were to change the flow after 4 bars or 2 bars in a seamless way.

    Hey I've started getting more into the rap game. The only problem I have is my flow is choppy and my delivery sounds the same. Could you give me some advice on how I could sound more emotional and confident delivery wise and how I can make my flow smoother?

    • @ColeMizeStudios
      @ColeMizeStudios  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey John thanks for your question. Your flow could be choppy for several reasons. You may be off beat, you may not have a good balance of syllables in your bars, or you just might need to adjust your timing. If you haven't already make sure you watch the other two videos in this series where I go over establishing your flow and also translating cadence into lyrics buff.ly/28RbRdj
      In regards to delivery check out my recent article How To Improve Your Rap Voice With Emotions colemizestudios.com/how-to-improve-your-rap-voice-emotions/

    Yo for real I've been binge watching this whole series and its insanely insightful and greatly appreciated. I'm curious how much of this can be implied to a capella or if there is a different method.

    • @ColeMizeStudios
      @ColeMizeStudios  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your kind words Tony! All of this can be applied Acapella, but you must be able to maintain your rhythm with body movement in order to do so effectively. Thanks for watching and commenting! :) - Cole Mize

    Thank you this helped a lot, but I was wondering how to keep on going from that. I want to be able to freestyle, so it will help me compose. I can only freestyle when I get in the zone. The problem is that I don't get that feeling a majority of the time. Thanks again for your time. 😄
