    It's all so easy. All you gotta have is a 2-post car lift, a torque wrench, a fancy giant syringe, and a telescoping oil funnel on a fancy drum.

    In addition... the manual 6-speed MQB transmission needs 2,3l oil, if you fill just 2l the 6th gear will be worn out really quickly. The 2l can be filled easy but the for the rest 0,3l the front axle should be lifted a bit.

      Hallo, for 2.l tdi 6vit ok foor 75w80 ?

    • @lzlb5927
      @lzlb5927 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fully agree. According workshop docs gearbox A04 has to be filled in with 1.7l oil (1.9l when disassembled) when changed. However, VW A7 platform (Golf MK7, Octavia MK3, Seat xx) the gearbox was titled by 12 deg and the oil level should be above the fill in plug. In addition the oil quantity has to be 2.3l instead 1.9l. strongly recommend to use originally labeled oil G 052 527. All that according TPI issued by VW Group.
      I believe the above is valid for most manual gearbox variants. the most common problem is low oil level causing axel bearings to be not oiled properly when not in drive, then in start they are running very dried first few 100 meters.

      Yup.
      8.1 Transmission Fluid Level, Checking
      It is not possible to check the transmission fluid level by removing
      oil filler plug.
      Due to the angle of the engine/transmission assembly, the lower
      edge of the filler hole -arrow 1- is located below the oil level
      -arrow 2-.
      The Transmission Fluid Level In Transmission Can Only be
      Checked When the Transmission Fluid Has Been Drained Com‐
      pletely and then Filled Again. Refer to
      ⇒ “8.2 Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling”, page 125

    Ok so.... curious as i just bought a 2013 vw golf 2.5L with 5 sp man. I got it up to operating temp, but the drain time was slow AF.
    Even tried this... drain plug out. Put in a litler via fill port. Still drizzeling. There a flush fluid to run in a manual trans? Thinking theres crap in there slowing the drain.
    Also figure next spring I'll replace the fluid again and this time run it for an hour on the highway before draining.
    Would also mention... that when i pumped that liter into it with drain plug out, it back filled the fill port.... so the fill port was dripping with drain out...
    Took about 30 min for the fluid to get an inch below the fill line. Finally i could see some newish oil coming out about 1.5 hours or so into draining so i put the plug back in. Then got about half a liter/quart into the trans at a time. Plugging the fill port when it started dripping. Ran the car in neutral for a minute. Shut her down, removed the fill plug, to add more fluid. Did this 3 or 4 times.
    Then put the fill plug in. Ripped it around the streets getting it in all gears. Returned home, checked level 1 more time and its good.
    So.... any idea WTH is making it drain slow?
    Oh and old fluid wasnt terrible. Given the state of the car being fairly close to excellent i assume everything has been serviced regularly. Only 160,000km / 99,000 miles.

    Is it true the 2018 abd up manual transmissions in the GTI Are not able to be serviced? That’s what the dealer told me when I asked them to change the fluid. They told me that it can’t be changed and is a lifetime fluid…

    • @ALGfunk
      @ALGfunk 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is nothing such as lifetime.... The lifetime is ambiguous, livetime of what, of you, the engine, gearbox?
      Change it

    Dont use motul gear 300. It is the WRONG weight and horrible before the oil gets to temperature.
    Additionally, if you have an 18+ gti, the traditional fill plug is not there. You can fill the oil through the plastic 19mm bolt near the gear selector.

    • @BorisNovak-j4h

      Motul gear 300 so to thick and gearbox changing is horrable... best is to use mix of Red Line 2 bootles MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 Gear Oil + 1 bottle LightWeight ShockProof

    I tried changing gear oil on my seat leon manual.
    I know it needs 2.1L, but the drained oil was only about 1l. I refilled around half a liter and it started dripping. I kept trying to refill and it kept dripping. Now im uncertain about the oil level.
    Please help.

      The gear box has 2 bolts. Unscrew the lower one and drain the oil then fill up new oil.
