I did this exact install 3 weeks ago..running so much smoother at idle, burning cleaner and looks great! Definitely recommend!
Nice!
@@ecstuning would this work on a mk6 jetta 1.8t Gen 3?
Does it require ecu to "learn"
@@ecstuningSo how old were your Coils & Plugs? My Coils in GTI Clubsport been there for 7 years since factory & plugs went 2000 km. Switching to German Bremi coils though & NGK Laser double platina sparks, so at least hoping for smoother idle, bit quicker response, bit cleaner combustion.
@@tredfxman I change them every 10-15k because they're cheap and an engine isn't
Even for the simple jobs I already know how to do I like to watch a tutorial first, just got my hands on a S3 8V with the pre GPF EA888.3 so the 310PS one, pretty much the same as the 1.4TSI ACT Ibiza FR I had, thanks ECS! ☺️
Thanks for this video! A thorough yet simple explanation was fantastic.
Wow, that is a sweet looking engine bay, with all that carbon. I want to do all these exact same little mods to my S3 8V.
Awesome content. Would really like to see more of these diy videos👍
More to come!
Boom! Such a peaceful vid bro 👍
@3:30 Vengaboys was here: "Boom boom boom: i want you in my room. Let's spend the night together, forever in my room..." 😄
I read horror stories in blogs about doing the spark plugs and coil packs who knew all you needed was the good ol Schwaben tools
Purchasing tomorrow thanks!

Hey!!! Could you recommend the tools needed to work in the installation of Inlet, muffler delete and Diverter Valve spacer, please? It could be useful
I just got my kit yesterday. Once these are put in. Do I half to clear the check engine light or will it go away once the coils and spark plugs installed
I prefer to put a bit of dielectric grease on the ceramic part before putting it in, this way shown will get them on the metal part of the spark terminal.
The coil packs looked pre-lubed with the green grease. No need for extra dielectric grease!
You are correct sir, well made point!!!
Can I use the same plugs for a 21 tiguan sel premium r-line? It's shock. Is
It the same set up
Great and definitely helpful video, thanks! Though need your help, what are those wires - "eyelets" (from 8:35 - 8:55) do? I have 2017 Audi A6 with 2.0 - EA888 Gen 3 too, and one of these "eyelets" got broken - a wire come off from a metal ring, how bad is this and where I can find a replacement for this please? Thank you!
It is the ground for the coil pack circuit. It's very bad that it's broken--you'll have an open circuit or high resistance on that circuit and you're engine is likely misfiring. You need to have the wire professionally repaired--likely 1-1.5hours of labour the dealer will charge.
Can you put a link for buy it?
Would a piggyback tune necessitate replacing with colder plugs? Or is that overkill?
For mk8 gti cs what spark plugs nkg have to put can you tell me ????
Thanks for the help bro you saved me 200 dollars
Glad it helped!
What torque wrench are you using for the 30nm?
Is same moments for 2.0 tsi 190hp? Thx
do you guys still sell that engine cover, the carbon fiber one? that looks super nice.
Here you go: bit.ly/38r085a
2017 GLI w/ apr plus tune..... I see these spark plugs are one heat range colder than OE.... Will that be ok!?!? or stick with OEM and less expensive plugs... hmmm....
What do you recommend for a 2012 Volkswagen CC 2.0t sport
Amazing. Thank you!!!!
What do you use for spark plugs ? 91006?
What’s the difference between the apr coil pack and ecs ones ? I would like to up grade
Nothing just name brand vs a cheaper alternative but they both do the same
Is this APR Red RS3 Ignition
??
Why I can not find the tower braces?
30nm (22ft lbs), feels tighttt on those plugs. 😰😮
where can i get those studs

Does it mess with the computer? Dumb question
Pretty sure you need to disconnect your battery when replacing coil packs. Might want to add that part..
Boom!
Boom🤘🏻
Do you recommend new spark plugs for a stage 1 mk7? If so which ones?
I would; just to be safe.
yes bro
I picked up Bosch plugs from Rock Auto for $8.96 each last week. NGK was just too high.
Hey guys quick question. Is there any difference in engine between a 2020 Audi q3 2.0t as compared to a 2020 vw Tiguan 2.0t? Thanks in advance
@ECS Tuning
No, these coil packs will work on all Gen 3 VW/Audi motors!
@@ecstuning sweet thanks! By chance is there a generation difference engine wise between the 2.0t Audi 2020 and a 2020 vw tiquan 2.0t? I have both of these suvs don’t understand if there is a diffence between these two motors aside from power
@@1state152 The 184hp is a 2.0T Gen3B, similar to Tiguan MQB. The 228hp is an IS20 2.0T Gen3, similar to the Atlas
BOOM
so many booms and so few bams
Why do you have to replace the Coil Packs? Do they have any wearing?
Weaken windings inside a coil eventually break, creating resistance for the spark going through them. It's good to replace them at 100k even if they haven't failed.
@@ecstuning ah okay so its not needed to replace them everytime you replace the sparks? Thanks for the information! :-)
I am digging the ECS Tuning Strut Tower Brace. Was that a one-off? A search on your site and the web reveals nothing.
Boom
Forgot those dress up studs.
On the bottom of your coil pack removal tool is a ‘mandrel’
What do you do if the boot doesn’t come out even with the tool? Lol. 🤦♂️
So, why did you add diode grease into the coil pack?
To prevent the rubber boot from attaching to the spark plugs. They can get stuck and the next time you pull the coil the rubber boot can separate.
@@ephatcher60018 so.........I didn't add the grease...........will it be a problem if it does attach to the spark plug? And is it too late? I changed out spark plugs 7-8 months ago
@@a14koolcor some coils come pre greased. Worst thing that can happen is the boot coming off, if I doesn't tear you can just put it back on.
The engine looks cool but that is a lot of carbon.
Don’t bother
