MEET the 17-year-old taking the internet by storm - despite having fractured over 300 bones. Wazir, from Jaipur, India, was born with Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), a genetic bone disorder also known as ‘brittle bone disease’. Wazir’s condition means he has soft bones that fracture easily, so he has to be careful at all times as even a minor fall could land him in hospital. But despite his medical challenges, Wazir, who also has an elder sister with the same condition, has built up a big following on Instagram - with a recent post getting over 25 million views. His viral fame has led to trolls calling him names like ‘alien’ or ‘monkey’ but Wazir is choosing to ignore his haters and focus on achieving his dreams.

It is not as rare as the doctor says. There are numerous videos on TH-cam of people with this condition. Years ago when I was much younger there was a young lady in the city where I lived with this condition. Sometimes her friends would take her shopping. She was so small they would place her in the shopping cart.
This is not an uncommon disease, plenty of people across the globe have variations of this condition. I have a friend, who's 17 year old son has it.

I have the same condition, thankfully not nearly as severe, and it gets really hard sometimes. For me, no one at school knows what's wrong with me. From what they can see, I'm just a foot shorter than average height and have crutches or a cast pretty often. This reminds me to be grateful for the little things in life, because I could have it so much worse. Thanks for the positive words of encouragement! 😊

With having a disability like this, having furniture to sleep/sit on could be dangerous, ie falling off a bed, couch etc.

I know a guy who has OI...his brother has it too. When my friend got married, he was told that any children that he had would have a 50/50 chance of being born with it as well. He had one daughter...she was born with OI.

I literally was telling myself earlier it is not possible to have bendible bones- this proves me wrong 😭😭
I also have this condition, osteogenesis imperfecta. The bending of his legs is called "bowing" which is caused from continuous fractures/breaks. The bowing can be preventable with metal rods being put in in surgeries. Metal rods would stabilize the bone and keep it straight when a fracture/break happens. I don't have any bowing to my bones due to have metal rods in since I was 18 months.

Has anyone seen the movie Old? One of the characters in the film had a similar condition but I thought it was completely fabricated. I had no idea a condition like this really exists until now. He’s amazing though, I love that he is chasing his dreams. Even a lot of able bodied people don’t do that.
I have basically this disability but with joints. its called ehlers danlos and my joints dislocate incredibly easily, my bones break more easy too [not nearly as bad as this though]
