Reference for self, when I am at sight shooting my next video. My take outs from this video. Thank you guys 4:50 hold the gimbal horizontally. Smooths out the walking wave effect 3:17 wide sweeping shot 5:00 the pan shot
I love this video and I am to five or six views since it was published. I keep coming back to it. I love the idea of a shot list while Becki and Chris show how to actually use a gimball. I have now finally made the plunge purchased the DJI RS3 and will continue to refer to this video as I learn to use it. This video is amazing with so much useful information.
*Honest moment here:* I started out with a handheld gimbal, the Ronin-S and I had my eureka moment when I purchased a Flycam stabilizer set up. I'd highly recommend buying a Flycam Galaxy Arm and Vest Stabilizer with a Red King stabilizer to use for real estate video walkthroughs. to save your back. Just watching the way he's bending over at 4:29 of this video screams INCOMING BACK PAIN!!!. Even if you're young or have a "strong back", try to avoid subjecting your back to bending over like this. Another benefit of using a Flycam stabilizer arm and vest is that you'll also be able to record longer takes much more comfortable as well. Trust me, I get it, the Zhiyun and Ronin-S are smaller, more compact, but literally, it takes no time to put on the vest, arm, and stabilizer. I also work a hell of a lot faster as well. Another benefit is that I can also film an incredible one take of the entire house (much easier if it's one story). This video is great, not knocking it at all. Just want to share another option can that can save your back and help you work more comfortably. Cheers!
I think if you try Gee-Yun, it would sound most similar to the actual Chinese pronunciation and easiest for English speakers.... Anyways, great tips, I will try apply these when I do my next room renovation report~ thanks, guys! This is why I love you guys . You actually talk about stuff us noobs need to hear . There was so much dope AF info in this post !! Thank you both !! It’s appreciated !! Pz
thanks for clarifying full frame - first question in my mind - great - already have those lenses - guessing does not matter 2.8 as you do not want anything blurred out
Just found ya! Wonderful grand tips. I’m just in the infancy of starting real estate photography in St. John’s. I enjoyed the tips very helpful. All da best.
i beg you please do a video like this but explaining the settings on the camera as many of us use Sony too and all share the same settings. This video has been really helpful for me , Thanks!
Shot our first real estate shoot right before you guys posted this. And, yeah that fast pan jitter killed us. We were so sick to our stomachs over the footage when we started reviewing the footage. Edited it out anyway, because they needed fast turnaround. Sent it to them, apologized, offered to reshoot at no extra cost. They said they loved it, and that they didn't see what we were talking about. I’m still sick over it, that's why I'm watching this again, but the next one will be better. Thanks for the tips!
Hello Guys, just wanted a huge THANK YOU for making this video, I've just bought Smooth 4 for my iphone, and was eyeing off the Crane for my larger camera, you just convinced me. First time finding your channel and subbed, enjoyed the 'vibe' between you two. Great work, keep it up!
Probably the most detailed and intuitive 'how to shoot real estate' video I've seen to date! Made me weed out all the other ones I saved in my tutorial playlist because this video was perfect. Thanks so much guys!
I don't know how you make gimball shots so smooth ! If I don't have a stabilized sensor, 4k to stabilize in post production, and slowmotion, you can see that I am shaking all the time. Wide angles erase the shaking, but I don't like the proportions / perspectives below 35/50 mm.
Soooo happy to see all the videos you are cranking out! Question though, how would you compensate for the light outside. Do you suggest blowing out the light from the windows in order to get better lighting inside?
So much valuable information ℹ️ .. yes, i hv also noticed that flashlight mode helos with the bounce.. infact its my favourite mode. And definitely.. editing real estate video request frm u guys.
Not sure if anyone else recommended this but if you don’t have a fluid head Tripod you can also attach your gimbal to a normal tripod and use it to get those smooth pans
Very Very helpful as my architecture office has me doing more and more videos of the finished buildings and struggled to find a video to help figure out what shots are needed. Great video guys. Would love to see videos like this. Thank you.
As someone who shoots real estate full time - a gimbal is one hell of a tool (and I've just replaced my Moza Air 2 with the Crane 2S after all the hype!) and I can 100% agree that the ninja walk is essential for any gimbal shot, especially in real estate. Your recommendations of lenses are exactly what I use (2.8f with both). and I always try throw in as much detail shots as I can - I'm always trying to sell what living in the place is like. Put them in the current owners shoes.
I don't know if my camera is good enough for Video. I have a Canon Rebel T7. The video in moderately lit rooms is grainy from 3200 ISO. Getting better at pictures for real estate (still not great) but want to offer video also. SO many different recommendations for gimbals, glide cams, cameras, etc. It's hard to know what to do and it's a lot of money to lay down on something that may not work.
Thanks for this video. I have been doing real estate photography for a while now. Starting next week with one of my first real estate videos. What do you do when shooting in low light conditions? For example a room that has little daylight?
You two are very generous for sharing this knowledge. Thanks. Do you guys ever use the cameras from the new cellphones (ie- iphone 12) for any of your content? Ive been hearing about t gimbals for these cameras that Ive been thinking about getting for non-pro video content.
Like the video - thinking about the crane 2 s vs the old ronin S - in the UK the Crane 2s is like £200 more than the Ronin S and I cant seem to justify the price diff.
Great video guys!! For your room entrance/sweeping shots (4:14) are you locking the gimbal and just rotating yourself, or allowing the gimbal to pan, ooooor, using the joystick to turn the camera as you walk into the room?
Wait a second..... this video was in my recommended and did she just say.... "whattya at by's?" ??? As a born and raised Newfoundlander, I got goosebumps. Great video!
@@BeckiandChris I'm new to the industry, and finding you guys was such a pick-me-up! We have very similar style and taste but I've always been confused on the best way to represent it. Can't wait to binge watch every video you guys have and I hope maybe someday I can meet you both! Goodnight from Corner Brook, NL :)
Would you use polarizer filters for real estate shooting? Some lenses like Sigma 14-24mm is so wide that it cannot take a filters in front of the lens and Im thinking if 16-35mm would be better for the use.
What a treat and it's not even Sunday :)! Thanks so much, Becki and Chris for the shot list. That's going to be super handy when I shoot my garden upgrade video. 😁
Great video as always - I was always taught never to pan right to left where possible and always pan left to right because it follows a natural eye movement?
Great stuff guys, thanks! What Picture Profile setup is your go-to? I like your colors a lot. I've been using the Slog2 and the ARRI Phantom LUTs to grade. Some of my footage comes out breathtakingly gorgeous, while at other times they are flat looking. I have not experimented with HLG or Cine4 but am curious what you use. Thanks!
Oh I love your videos! Watch them all! Of topic question... did you make the wood slat wall behind you or was it a panel you purchased. I soooo want it!
Thanks Becki and Chris.. This is amazing.. Thank you very much.. Can you do the same for vlogs and or story telling shot list making (possible shots that should make the shortlist and when to use them better.. thisnow S alot for this one
love you guys and the video I was wondering do you think this gamble wil hold the Eos r and the 16-35 l lens and the 24 -105 rf I have the crane 2 thinking about getting this one.
This might be an obvious question, but do you bring lighting equipment with you? Some properties/rooms aren't well lit. This room in your house has huge glass windows, the natural light is great. But I've run into some AirBnBs with not great lighting
Not usually! We try and shoot the room as natural as possible, sometimes if that means turning all the lights on we do that but try and make sure not to mix color temperatureS
Hi Becki and Chris! I am a real estate photographer based in Montreal. I do not offer video tours as of yet, but it’s something I would like to add to my services. I have an EOS R, I was wondering which good entry level gimble you would recommend for me? Also, any recommendations on how and where to learn to edit in Premiere? Thank you so much!!
I’m literally about to shoot a real estate video but I don’t and can’t get access to a gimble for the shoot :(. I have a shoulder grip though. I usually use warp stabilizer and it comes out alright. Wish I had a gimble though. The shots are so smooth!
Reference for self, when I am at sight shooting my next video. My take outs from this video. Thank you guys
4:50 hold the gimbal horizontally. Smooths out the walking wave effect
3:17 wide sweeping shot
5:00 the pan shot
For everyone out there who just started with YT, wish you all the best and may we all be successful!
Love your guys' vibe, ya'll are awesome!
Super dope video, super dope tips and tricks & that gimbal looks sick. Thanks guys!

I think you can apply that shot list theory to most videos!

Yessss amazing! That extra stop of light with the 2.8 is so key when shooting inside!
I’m stuck between buying either the crane 2 or the weebill s gimbal for the a7iii with the 16-35 f4. Any advice?
How do you focus? Auto fixed with small aperture? As a bigginer Im struggling with that. Specially when I must use large apertures.

Are you shooting specifically at late afternoon to avoid the glaring sun blowing out your exposure?
Great video! Would love a real estate job shadow/bts video at the property! 😎

Any tips for nailing focus while using a gimble?
