How do you like the C70 for the real estate workflow? I assume you're using the speed booster? Does it handle low light well? IE 3200-6400 ISO for dark areas of homes?
I've been shooting RE for 7 years now but I am looking to add either an R5C, C70 or FX3 to my lineup. I currently shoot on an R5 but I cannot stand the shadow noise at higher ISOs. Thanks for any input you may have!
@KeyImaging you’ll definitely get some noise with the c70 at those ISO’s but it’s not too bad like it is on mirrorless when you go too far. Looks more like film grain than just bad digital noise that’s unusable. But based on those I’d think r5c is your best bet investment-wise. Full frame has advantages for real estate & low light. IMO 8k downsampled is probably better for real estate than the more filmic c70 look, too. Also lots more room for cropping and repurposing videos if you do film in 8k which would be handy. But if you’re doing a lot of low light and buying a whole other system Is no big deal the fx3 is great too. Just crazy for low light with the 800 & 12,800 dual native iso. Great video, thank you. I am choosing between Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM and RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM lenses. May I ask your opinion? I see you use EF, is this due to it being f2.8 or any other reasons? Thank you
Thanks! Short answer: yes both should be good! 2.8 is handy though and I like having the creative flexibility. I got my EF lenses before there were RF lens options otherwise I’d have probably picked RF . If you’re shooting full frame and have no need for EF, RF should be a little faster / sharper / smaller total setup without adapters and everything. But personally I kinda like having the option to have the different adapters and filters behind lenses etc.
I am strictly using my phone at the moment, but really love the outline of this video. Keep up the good work! Love it. Definitely going to save the first part of the video for when I save enough for a camera!
Thanks so much for this video, Taylor. I have an amateur question though. Would I be able to get a sharp focus of the interior at f2.8 and would that be with autofocus or manual? Thanks in advance
I like using 2.8 with autofocus most of the time. But if it’s brighter f4+ can look really good since you get more in focus so it can look sharper. Whatever works best for you and the look you’re going for!
Fantastic tutorial a great learning tool. My only gripe with these types of videos, is that the property being videos is a super luxury one with large interiors and lots of outside space. What about doing one of a basic property where you cannot get all angles externally etc. That said I learnt a lot here. Thanks man.
Great question. If it’s for clients the commercial plan is what you’d need. If you’re a realtor and it’s your own listings / content for your business the personal plan would work.
Great video! I have the Ronin SC Gimbal and the Canon EOS R6. Do you leave image stabilization on when using a gimbal or does that create a conflict between the two devices? -Thanks
Any production or pre production time, editing time, travel time, and useage whether it’s a one-time Type of thing or more commercial for marketing long term etc.
Hey! Great question. In this video and most of the time I'm using autofocus on a spot that will keep most of the room in focus while I'm doing that particular movement. I'll switch over to MF if that's not working great but mostly for dusk shots or detail shots. Here's a whole video I did to cover this question more in depth. Let me know if that helps! - TB th-cam.com/video/tkexgpl0Cdg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GINcaYJ-au7J4urG
I’m trying to decide between the rf 14-35 f4 and the rf 15-35 f2.8. The 14 is smaller, lighter and cheaper but I’m just wondering if there might be a need for the f2.8 in video? I note that you prefer 2.8 but can I get away with the 4 even in low lighting conditions. It gets quite cloudy here in the UK. Also, how wide do you tend to go on your interiors?
I think it's just personal preference. If you don't care about having 2.8 for lower light situations or for filming / photographing people, you might as well save some money on the f4 lens. I did the same for a 70-200 recently (it was half the price and half the weight too) - And it's been great! I got the 2.8 because I don't have a camera that's amazing in low light so the 2.8 helps and I like the look for RE and other types of projects. For interiors most of the main wide shots are 16 and some are 24. I prefer the look of 24 but if it's for real estate most clients like 16 since you can see how things connect / it makes things seem a little bit bigger.
Hey! I like the Godox V1 a lot and you can get a version that's compatible with Panasonic. Also the ad200 Pro is great if you want to use it for more studio work like portraits too.
Hey Taylor! Me again bothering so sorry! Which lens friendly budget do you recommend for this kind of videos? A lens that can work good both for wide shots and details shots. Oh and that can shoot nice regular photos 😅
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Morning! I still don’t have a camera but I’m looking at the Canon EOS R8 that can shoot 4k 60fps. Also, I’m searching for used cameras and lenses to see if I can find a good deal 😅
Hey Taylor! Awesome video man. I currently shoot listings on the C70 as well. Do you find it to be heavy over time? haha Wondering if the FX3 would be a better option for this line of work. Only down side would be dealing with ND's but I think that is a small price to pay for saving your back.
Shoot!!! Who will edit my video. This is a great video. Maybe you? With the sound effects. My wife has a good laugh when I show her my video. They ain’t great but found out it was the sound effects. Stay safe.
Hey great video quick question do you always have polarized lens on your camera or do you only put it on when your inside the house my other question is what lens would you recommend me getting for my Sony camera for real estate photographer and videography that won’t be too expensive
Thanks! Most of the time yes, unless it's too dark or there's not a real noticeable benefit (no reflections / glares to correct) then it's better to just have no filters IMO. When I had Sony I started with the Zeiss 16-35 f4 lens and it was great! Lots cheaper than the G Master.
Such a helpful video. I just booked my first real estate video client and got my gimbal a few days ago. I love that you are using the C70 for this video. Amazing quality! Also, what happened with the primary bedroom piece? Did you have to shoot it the next morning?
haha thanks! it's all good I was just doing this one for you guys so didn't need to reshoot :) But normally yeah I would go back for free. But definitely reason to double check your shots before leaving just in case!
Thanks! Probably should have a little bit but didn't. It's pretty lightweight and the setup was well under the weight limit for the gimbal so it held it up.
Thanks! Auto / Spot focus. I usually select whatever is most important (front of house, fire place, kitchen appliances, bed, or middle of room etc) to try to get those right.
On this video I did but one is in the camera (nd) and one on the lens (polarizer). Kinda complicated having two screw on filters that twist at the same time stacked, but it is possible. I saw some new ones recently come out with both built together , pretty neat! Another note - If you use a faster frame rate (like 60) for exteriors you won’t need vnd too often anyways unless you’re wanting to film lower than f2 and at that point you probably won’t really need a CPL for that kind of shot anyways.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thanks for the reply! I see what you’re saying. I’m just getting into RE photography and still need to buy an ND filter & CPL. So you don’t really ever find yourself in scenarios where you need to use both at the same time?
Taylor! They asked me to make reels of a property but vertical for instagram, what do I do? I have a Sony A7IV + 18mm(SLR Magic) lens and maybe a 12-24mm but I don't have a gimbal and I have an Iphone 13 and maybe the possibility of buying a stabilizer for the phone, I'm not in the best economic situation right now, lol . What do you think, do I go to ninja mode with the Sony or do I play it with the iPhone?💚💚
I’d do what you’re most comfortable with! That’s what you’ll make the best work with. It’s a lot easier to get a phone gimbal and shoot with it right away than a mirrorless gimbal if that helps!
Great video, man. It's awesome seeing other peoples' workflows. No matter how long you've been doing this, there are always little nuggets to take away by watching someone else do it. Quick gear question...I assume that is the EF 16-35 2.8 on that C70. Is that the speed booster or the regular dumb adapter? I'm just trying to get a sense of how wide you're shooting (the perspective looks great BTW). Thanks!
Hello! I've been following you for a while and I can finally buy a camera for these videos, but I'm still undecided, WHICH CAMERA SHOULD I BUY, a7s iii? fx3? R6 mark ii? I saw some videos with the r6 mark ii, but due to the price and my little experience I don't know if the change in quality is very drastic comparing it to the a7s iii and fx3, please HELP :(
For video the Sonys are better for sure! A7siii or FX3 same image, just set up a little different. If you’re not getting super into production where you need xlr mics I’d go with the a7siii for the more movable swivel screen and the viewfinder if you do photos ever is great. Have you started yet or are you upgrading?? Big investment 😅
Definitely! I try to get it as smooth as possible in camera but usually end up adding stabilizer to make it a little better in post. My camera doesn't have IBIS or Lens Stabilization so it's usually a little shaky. Less need for it if you have either of those!
Love your channel bro ! What would you say is a reasonable amount of time for one person To shoot this house video and Flambient style photos in one session for a full shoot of the home ?? Thanks !

By the way, love to see your videos, not only very informative and learning a lot from you, real estate filming, but it is nice to see someone so kind, honest and willing to share so much neat stuff. God bless
Taylor, I noticed at the begining of the video you doing the walking up shot of the house. It didn't look like you were trying to "ninja walk" at all so my question is how are you getting rid of the up and down motion of your shot? That is one thing I'm struggling with, Idk if maybe I need to crop the video more and add more stabilization or what.
Hey! I usually add stabilizer in post to help. Also 40-80% speed playback looks smoother too since I was doing the exteriors at 60fps. I think I compensate for steps with my arms (keeping the height pretty consistent) so maybe it just ends up looking different for everyone.
I only hold the trigger when I’m trying to do a perfectly straight shot (forward or sideways) otherwise I like being able to do more fluid motions 👌 hope that helps + makes sense!
Thanks bud, I noticed my videos are a little bouncy when using the gimbal.. sometimes when I walk with it my camera sways back and forth slightly.. does this happen to you?
@DF007 usually it comes with the gimbal but maybe not for that one since the mounting plate is so tiny. Maybe it’s not the problem though. For super straight shots do you ever try holding the trigger to lock the cameras direction?
Pretty different. Mostly in textures being more sharp / digital looking and less natural colors overall. Will have to compare sometime since I haven’t yet with this camera :)
Been watching your videos for awhile now! Quick question, I see that you are using the RS3 (pro?). For some reason my verticals are always slightly off. Obviously I can correct this by using the joy stick but it is still really annoying. I use a Sony A7s3 with the Laowa 12mm and Sony 16-35 GM and no matter how I balance or tighten the mount, it seems to droop ever so slightly forward. Any ideas?
This can also be corrected in post (although a bit tedious)...if you use Premiere, apply 3D basic which allows you to tilt or swivel your footage. Then scale to fill the frame. Corner pinning also is useful, although it does take up alot of resources.
Hey! Slowing things down helps so since I shoot interiors at 30fps I change those to 80% speed on a 24fps timeline, and up to 40% speed for 60fps exteriors. But on top of that adding stabilization in Final Cut (a light amount) makes it even smoother. Or using warp stabilizer if you're in premiere pro.
It depends on your camera and whether or not shooting in Slow Motion (usually S&Q mode) also records audio. Most don't. So I guess just out of habit I shoot in high frame rates and slow it down in post because I do a lot of projects that might need audio or it might be handy (branded videos, doc style videos, bts, etc). But you're right - for most cases for real estate there's really no need so that might speed up your editing process so go for it if it works for you!
Great video! I've never seen one like this that shows you filming and the inset of what it looks like. I've also never seen anyone actually answer most of the comments. You can tell you actually want to help people. Awesome job!

Let me know if that helps or if there are any other specifics you’re curious about :)
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Thank you so much or the thoughtful response! This was super helpful in my considerations for my next camera purchase!
Glad to give insight! What are you going to end up going with? Pumped for you@@KeyImaging
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I was doing research because I was offered a deal on a BNIB C70 for $4k. I'm still mulling it over. I shot a few houses last week on my BM 6K Pro and it did alright. I think I'm going to hold out to see if anything new drops in the next couple months! R5 and 6k Pro will do for now and maybe I'll snag the C70. Hoping that Canon release a C70 mark ii with CFExpress support since i have so many of those cards already
Amazing video! Very helpful for a newbie. Thank you.
Glad to help! Thanks for checking it out ✌️
Estupendo video, gracias por compartir ..!!
No problem! Thank you ☺️
Great video, thank you.
Great video . Love the behind the scenes stuff ! Thanks for the efforts . I know it's a lot of work...😀
Thanks for the comment!
I am strictly using my phone at the moment, but really love the outline of this video. Keep up the good work! Love it.
Definitely going to save the first part of the video for when I save enough for a camera!
Nice!! Everything else still applies so hope it was helpful for you :)
Thanks man.
Good point, that would be helpful to see! Gotta do what you can on those ones and make the best of it. I'll have to do a video on that some time.
Hi I want to use epidemic sound for my real estate videos which one should I sign up for the personal or the commercial ?
Great question. If it’s for clients the commercial plan is what you’d need. If you’re a realtor and it’s your own listings / content for your business the personal plan would work.
Great video Taylor
Thanks!
Great video! 🙏
Thank you 🙌
Great video. Very thorough. Thank you for your time.

Great video! I have the Ronin SC Gimbal and the Canon EOS R6. Do you leave image stabilization on when using a gimbal or does that create a conflict between the two devices? -Thanks
Should usually be fine!

Hello Taylor, I was just thinking about you and hoping that you were still doing videos. I like this one, maybe one on processing it? Thanks.
Hey! Hope you’re doing well. Might have to do that :) Did a few tricks to make it a little more interesting in the edit
great video but how do you handle focus, I assume you are using manual focus and I know for outside it will be easy but for interior how do handle it?
- TB th-cam.com/video/tkexgpl0Cdg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GINcaYJ-au7J4urG
thanks, I have watched the focus video now and very helpful@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
@LeeBooth awesome!
Hey Taylor! Do you recommend any good flashes that are compatible with Panasonic Lumix s5ii?
Hey! I like the Godox V1 a lot and you can get a version that's compatible with Panasonic. Also the ad200 Pro is great if you want to use it for more studio work like portraits too.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo awesome! I’ll look into it. Thank for the reply man 🙌
Great video! How do you get the connection to do these real estate shoots?
Thanks! To get clients, networking, finding events and things to get involved with to meet people & referrals over time.
Hey Taylor! Me again bothering so sorry! Which lens friendly budget do you recommend for this kind of videos? A lens that can work good both for wide shots and details shots. Oh and that can shoot nice regular photos 😅
Anything 16-35 equivalent. What kind of camera do you have ?
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Morning! I still don’t have a camera but I’m looking at the Canon EOS R8 that can shoot 4k 60fps. Also, I’m searching for used cameras and lenses to see if I can find a good deal 😅
Hey Taylor! Awesome video man. I currently shoot listings on the C70 as well. Do you find it to be heavy over time? haha Wondering if the FX3 would be a better option for this line of work. Only down side would be dealing with ND's but I think that is a small price to pay for saving your back.
Nice! I really like it but the fx3 is super easy on a gimbal
Just Awesome info ,Thx
Thank you!
Bonjour Taylor, So nice video ! Maybe the question has been asked but I didnt read it. When you pan for parallax shots how do you set the RS3 ? thanks
Hey! Thanks so much. I have it on the same settings the whole time for this video. So pan+follow mode with the speeds set to slow
thanks so much@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
So cool 🎉.Thank You
No prob! Thanks
I have a VND filter nisi 77mm thread if i add a stepup ring for RF15-35 2.8 will i get to see vignetting . Should i avoid 15-35 and go for 14-35?
Hey! You’ll just need to get the bigger VND that works with whichever lens you’re going with. The 15-35 is an amazing lens
What focal length do you mainly use for interiors?
On a 16-35 lens, usually 16 for the main wide shots and 24 for medium wide shots. 50 for details usually
Great video, thanks for the tips.
Thanks!! No prob
Shoot!!! Who will edit my video. This is a great video. Maybe you? With the sound effects. My wife has a good laugh when I show her my video. They ain’t great but found out it was the sound effects. Stay safe.
What drone do you use? I can see it’s DJI!
Mavic 2 Pro (non-zoom) still great!
Can you provide the link for that 2nd add on handle for your gimbal? Exactly what I need.
Hey! It came with my gimbal (DJI RS3 Pro) I’m not sure you can buy it by itself but maybe possible through DJI
Great video Taylor. Quick question, did you have to re balance the gimbal after taking off the cpl filter?
Thanks! Probably should have a little bit but didn't. It's pretty lightweight and the setup was well under the weight limit for the gimbal so it held it up.
Nice video....but just wondering what is your camera focus settings? Auto or manual?
Thanks! Auto / Spot focus. I usually select whatever is most important (front of house, fire place, kitchen appliances, bed, or middle of room etc) to try to get those right.
Can you use both an ND filter and circular polarizer filter on your lens at the same time?
@travis830 Just creative preference. Both are great tools though! If you’re starting with photos I’d go with the CPL for starters :)
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Sorry, meant to say i'm getting into photos/videos as well
Are you using the default settings for your gimbal or have you modified them?
I made all of the speeds as slow as possible to smooth it out but that's all.
This is wonderful
Thank you!
Are there any videos on lighting setup bts
What kind of lighting?
I learnt a lot. Well explained and a job well done. Than you
Thanks!
yeah, but can you take the gimbal in the carry on when flying?
Yeah, it comes apart so pretty easy to fit in my carry on.
Thanks!
Speed Booster, Thanks! So 16mm ish equivalent for wides
@taylorbrownphotovideo will these settings work for the fx3? do u have tutorials on how to shoot with them
Similar! Check out the description of this video , i listed my go to settings for the fx3 th-cam.com/video/tusHgZLBgqg/w-d-xo.html
Big investment 😅
do you use image stabilizer in post?
Definitely! I try to get it as smooth as possible in camera but usually end up adding stabilizer to make it a little better in post. My camera doesn't have IBIS or Lens Stabilization so it's usually a little shaky. Less need for it if you have either of those!
i use adobe premiere and when i use stablelizer it get wavey and unstable.@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
Love your channel bro ! What would you say is a reasonable amount of time for one person To shoot this house video and Flambient style photos in one session for a full shoot of the home ??
Thanks !
2-3 Hours if it’s all Daytime 👌
I wish you would do a video like this with an iPhone 14 or 13. This way you can tell us what settings to use.
Hey! It’d be the same (4k30fps, HDR) or 4k60fps for detail shots 👌
Love it, thank you for the hard work. Very informative, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Do you mind attach a link to the handle, I know i could find it anywhere in amazon, but would like the one you are using, if possible. thank you!
Thanks! I got the rs3 pro combo that came with it but it looks like you smallrig makes the same thing pretty much. (SmallRig Adjustable Handle Sling Handgrip for DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro/RS 3 Mini Gimbal Handheld Stabilizer - 3028) on Amazon. I’m not seeing it anywhere from DJI - pretty weird ! 🤔
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Thank you so very much, I will get one because, it seems very handy and useful to have for filming. I just got into the house, from filming my home (puttting it for sale) and it was painful to hold the roni 2, while mosquitoes where eating me up lol. By the way, love to see your videos, not only very informative and learning a lot from you, real estate filming, but it is nice to see someone so kind, honest and willing to share so much neat stuff. @@PhotoVideoGraphics Can totally relate! haha hope the one you get is a good fit for you :)
I think I compensate for steps with my arms (keeping the height pretty consistent) so maybe it just ends up looking different for everyone.
very nice!
Thanks!
When do you hold the button and not hold the button? I tried using a gimbal and was confused if I should or should not be holding the button.
I only hold the trigger when I’m trying to do a perfectly straight shot (forward or sideways) otherwise I like being able to do more fluid motions 👌 hope that helps + makes sense!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thank you so much!
Hi Taylor, how do u go so smooth? i have dji ronin rs3 pro and i see my steps on my short, but im going like a ninja
Do you have the settings to slowest? Helps a lot! Also the rest is the walking, slowing down in post, and adding stabilization when needed
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo You mean speed of follow? Its on fastest, okay thanks, ill try out🙏
Thanks bud, I noticed my videos are a little bouncy when using the gimbal.. sometimes when I walk with it my camera sways back and forth slightly.. does this happen to you?
Sometimes! Are you using the lens support ? I’ve noticed that helps a lot!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I didn't even know about that, thanks! I have the rs3 mini, I can't find the lens support. is it an aftermarket thing?
@DF007 usually it comes with the gimbal but maybe not for that one since the mounting plate is so tiny. Maybe it’s not the problem though. For super straight shots do you ever try holding the trigger to lock the cameras direction?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo You know what, that's a great point lol!
Let me know if that works out! 🤘
How much of a difference in quality and final product do you really think you would get using an iphone 14 pro?
Pretty different. Mostly in textures being more sharp / digital looking and less natural colors overall. Will have to compare sometime since I haven’t yet with this camera :)
Been watching your videos for awhile now! Quick question, I see that you are using the RS3 (pro?). For some reason my verticals are always slightly off. Obviously I can correct this by using the joy stick but it is still really annoying. I use a Sony A7s3 with the Laowa 12mm and Sony 16-35 GM and no matter how I balance or tighten the mount, it seems to droop ever so slightly forward. Any ideas?
Have you tried using the lens support ? Might help!
This can also be corrected in post (although a bit tedious)...if you use Premiere, apply 3D basic which allows you to tilt or swivel your footage. Then scale to fill the frame. Corner pinning also is useful, although it does take up alot of resources.
❤
Why did you use 30 fps instead of 60 fps? And what fps is your timeline during editing? thanks for the video!
Personal preference, don’t usually need to slow down wide shots more than 80% to get the speed I like. 24fps timeline & export always👌
How are stabilizing after post?
What type of gimbal?
DJI RS3 Pro w/ Handle that came with it.
your video presets only works for adobe ? just making sure I read your Etsy.
Yes for now! I'll be making some new updated ones for multiple programs though. All my recent videos have been edited with Final Cut.
Is there a reason why you edit your video to be slow motion in post-processing rather than shooting in slow-mo from the start? Which is better?
It depends on your camera and whether or not shooting in Slow Motion (usually S&Q mode) also records audio. Most don't. So I guess just out of habit I shoot in high frame rates and slow it down in post because I do a lot of projects that might need audio or it might be handy (branded videos, doc style videos, bts, etc). But you're right - for most cases for real estate there's really no need so that might speed up your editing process so go for it if it works for you!
fixed manual focus or autofocus??
I like autofocus but sometimes Manual comes in handy for details or weird lighting conditions
Where do I find your epidemic sound playlist?
On epidemic sound if you search the playlists for Real Estate it should come up.
