I have a question, how do you paint red corsairs. I’ve been trying to find a video and they are either A: using way to much paint. B:using an airbrush. C: not giving the colors used. Or D: just bad. You don’t do any of those and id really like a red corsairs tutorial. PLEASE!

Top tip turn the box upside down like a cake tin and put the magnetic sheet in the lid and use the whole thing upside down gives you much easier access to your minis

One suggestion - turn the container upside down like a cake tin and put the sheet on the lid. This lets you access the minis much easier

I was reading the possibility of buying baking sheets and then making a wooden case to slid them in, but a magnetic paper-type sheet in a tupperwear is unbelievably ingenius!

I learned the hard way to keep your phone away from the magnetic sheets.

The sound of the foam rubbing against minis I spent hours on, especially on narrow gun barrels and the like has never sat right with me. Love seeing the Goblin army again as well.

Little word of advice, if while searching online, especially for magnets you see anything labeled as “For miniatures” or “For Warhammer” expect it to be priced at a premium and when it comes to magnetizing bases where you don’t need super precise dimensions for the magnets I highly recommend going to a hardware store, in the U.S. the chain Harbor Freight sells 10 packs of rare earth magnets that are the perfect size for going under 40K bases with some green stuff for about $3.

Michael, excellent video. This has inspired me to keep working on my magnetization and storage. Its so satisfying to have a nice and cleanly organized force contained in a box, much to my boyz chagrin. Also, your orks and grots look so clean and crisp, but they still have that orky feel of being dirty and covered in grim. I didn't think black and red could look so vibrant and eye-popping! Simply impressive! I appreciate your work. Excellent job! I look forward to more videos.

I use similar setup, just get magnetic sheet slready glued with something like in adhesive tapes. Glueing few magnets without rubber gloves is interesting experience if someone like thrill of going to hospital. My neighbour went for old non using metal roasting pan to skip magnetic sheet part.

you can also glue the sheets on the sides for tall miniatures, if that helps.

I use magnetic sheets for inside the movement trays and magnets for under the miniatures and also for under the movement tray. Finally, instead of using a magnet sheet I use a metal one for the box. Magnet-metal-magnet-metal if it makes sense.

In one of your videos, i saw you say you dont use dropper bottles anymore. Could you say why that is?

    • @TableTopReadyYouTube

no body talks about it anymore. they are messier than the workshop pots. you use to much paint and to decant the paint you thin it with flow improver which kind of ruins the quality of the citedal paint. absolutly scammed by people saying to do it just because it got views

@@TableTopReadyTH-cam Ive recently transferred a lot of my paints to droppers. I know what you mean about wasting paint. A lot of the time, a bubble builds up in the tip and pops out. I also see what you mean about the thinning. The first ones i tried transferring i used flow improver and they act strange now but after noticing i did a bit of research and switched to 5-8 drops of distilled water and those work a lot better.
Conclusion: Idk if it was worth it. For an airbrush, yes but overall. Idk.

You need ferrous rubber (aka rubber steel) sheets not magnetic! The magnetic sheet will end up repelling and attracting the neodymium magnets on the bases so it is not as strong as using ferrous rubber sheets which is all pull.

For transport I use the Really Useful boxes and just for storage at home I use IKEA Samla boxes.

I had to resolve to a sheet of steel. The magnetic paper i bought didn't work at all (magnetism was barely noticable))

They don't make it because you need super glue. Sure GW used to make super glue but they no longer do. It's hard to explain but the best example of who GW concentrates their instore marketing on is beginners. There was a great interview with the painting phase with an ex GW product designer, infact the guy who designed the mold line scraper which he was incredibly proud of. He explains that a child in the UK cannot buy a knife from GW (you have to be 16), so how do they remove mold lines, enter the none de-burred mold line remover.
The same is true for super glue where you have to be 18 or over to purchase in the UK.
Your solution is for people who are not beginners and are well and truly involved with GWs product, GW largely don't care about us, we're going to buy the product regardless but a GW branded travel case can be sold to a parent or child who are just starting to dip their toes or have no idea of other products on the market.
All that being said there are plenty of self adhesive solutions now but again they probably don't make enough money for GW to want to bother R&Ding it
