there is a saying that goes, "if you can't afford a brand new Jaguar then you sure can't afford a used Jaguar" :D lol Jaguars are nothing but endless money pits with very poor quality and if someone has managed to keep them running then they're not disclosing the $15K per year spent on maintenance to keep those things running
I have a 2012 XJ Diesel 92,000 miles (149,000kms). Its in immaculate condition. Not a single scratch, absolutely zero wear, leather like brand new, dashboard like new, smells like its brand new, you would think it came out of the factory last week. Never had any reliability issues with her at all. Full and very detailed service history. Everything done on time, including all wheel alignments and balancing. Never broke down, never had any engine check lights pop up or any warning lights at all.
A lot of these issues are just down to poor maintenance. Not necessarily on your part, but these Jaguars hold up in almost perfect condition beyond 100k miles
That’s the whole point of my video it’s to show that a lot less has gone wrong than most of the general population would think at this point in its life.
@@EresCuloFace maaannnn im so sorry to hear that :( ☹ What's the price look like if you don't mind me asking? Also since its under 100k some of that should be covered under warranty right?
I disagree Alot of these issues are down to faulty manufacturing and electronics Pieces falling, electric motors not working, and a loose steering wheel *HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH POOR MAINTENENCE OR ABUSE*
I have a 2014 XJ Portfolio with 51K miles and have no broken items or issues. I bought it certified pre-owned three years ago. These cars are really well made and will last for years if well maintained. Any car will have issues if they are used and abused by prior owners. Best of luck with this car, it looks great in white!
Dude, straight up, my heart goes out for you. That is a LOT of issues on your whip, man! I just picked up a 2014 XJL Portfolio. Looks identical to your car. Bought it with 35k miles. My car is immaculate currently, now I'm pretty damn paranoid about it! lol... Hope you get her fixed up, or something works out for you. Love your videos, keep em coming!
Thanks man I appreciate the support! All cars age differently based upon location and previous owners. I for sure am going to treat her much better than her past owners. The key is to keep it garaged if you can! Good luck with your car! Keep an eye out for my next video you’re going to love it!
If you could open your sunroof, you’d see you probably have rust in the sunroof track. Only non-aluminum piece on the car. You may also want to replace/ update the routing of your coolant lines when you replace the water pump. They changed the routing in ~2016. Far fewer issues with the newest setup.
I clocked that as well, very Ronnie and Reggie Kray and made it a bit more true to an authentic old school UK Jag! Possibly the reason it's shunting if it's sticking on that.
Wow my glass cracked exactly like that "right" before i sold the car. The car was just sitting outside and nothing hit my window. I'm glad that you showed this, it explains things to me know.
@@XJLuxury Ah! That answers a lot of questions! As you can see, I've been saying all the way down that it's been accident damaged and this has EVERYTHING to so with the majority of things that are broken. In a shunt there are tonnes of force involved, and for me it was clear from the start that a lot of the parts (if not all of them) have been broken because they are very weak. I CAN ASSURE YOU that these things do NOT usually break on a Jag, it was obvious to me straight away that this has been in a shunt and that shunt has weakened and loosened a lot of parts on the car. This would happen with pretty much any car in an accident, I guarantee you that all those things are due to the accident. Confirmed to me that it was a salvage as soon as I saw that broken window, it's not a factory flaw.
@@XJLuxury unfortunately it would, as the body and frame would be damaged due to force of the collision, this then would result in misalignment of other parts. Once a vehicle is in a crash, unfortunately it would never be the OEM standard again.
this is worse than when Chevrolet claimed to be more reliable than Honda! to say that Jaguar vehicles are the most reliable is really not knowing anything about vehicles! Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Volkswagen just to name a few that are more reliable than any Jaguar ever built. Plus a Toyota owner isn't spending $15K a year on maintenance just to keep the damn thing running. Neil Smith, your comment should be flagged lol honestly though you really should try learning about cars. This guy just spent 35 minutes telling us all the things broken on a car that barely hit 60K miles and you're gonna say Jaguar is reliable? how about the fact he can't even open his sunroof 'cause he's afraid it might never close again lol and how about the cost to fixing all these things? lol Jaguar is about as reliable as a Chevy
I purchase used vehicles in this segment. Never buy a 90k vehicle from an 'as is' type auto auction. You will get it at a fraction of the original msrp but will will be doing videos like this guy on what's wrong with my car. He is extremely entertaining and has a sense of humor. Great video!!! I think I will subscribe!
Man I nearly fell out of bed when you said $1500 for a headlight then I checked on eBay and your right cheapest I could find was £1088 around $1400 wow I'm thinking of buying a high miler her in the uk and selling the bits I could sell the lights front and rear then the rest would be profit Nice video keep it up
There used to be a common saying, here in Germany, during the old Jaguar times, "if you are wealthy, you ride a Mercedes, if you are rich, you own a Jaguar." But to be fair, this was related to the unreliability of these cars in the 1970s under British Leyland. But this has changed completely since the years under the wings of Ford. They tidied up the company and helped Jaguar to survive and to overcome all the problems they had when not enough money was around to produce on a par with Mercedes who for a long time had been the Jaguar Managements goal. Today's Jags are as reliable as any other make of luxury cars. And by the way, I remember that a bulb replacement on an 2007 E-Class cost about 800 Euro, just the part (work additional) at the Mercedes dealership, because the bulb couldn't be changed. The whole front light had to be changed because the whole thing was sealed and glued so that opening would have destroyed the complete thing. Seems all makers of luxury cars a ripping off their customers.
Don't think you should expect much on a wrecked title- reject auto. Certainly not blame all the faults on Jaguar. A serious collision with a major torsion load on the structure beyond its limits could cause a number of those structural-related faults. Look at the panel fit on the front here, and that would be suspect. I've never seen a Jaguar with less than 100k miles that has the driver's seat in such a pathetic unclean condition. The mileage could be fake. I bought my 2011 xjl because of the excellent reliability I had with my 2000XJ8. I haven't had any of the faults cited here (and normally the first year production has the poorest reliability).
The damage to the front was from a minor collision which has nothing to do with the seat condition. The mileage was not faked. Mileage was confirmed to be real from multiple service records. Cars wear different based on who uses them. The accident has nothing to do with most of the issues of my car.
@@XJLuxury Hope you saw my post above, all those things are broken due to an impact accident. A car like this of this value wouldn't be a write-off for a minor collision. Those loose and broken parts are directly due to a very heavy shunt, as is the damaged rear window. There has probably been some twisting of the body, which is when rigid plastic parts on any car start to loosen and crack.
In regards to your dome light coming on by itself, I had a 2013 XF that did that and I found out that the contact on the backside of the light becomes corroded. There is a kit you can buy to replace the contacts. You can also put some dielectric grease on the contacts and that will help it from corroding in the future.
I have had a 5.0 supercharged 2012 portfolio, short wheel base, not offered in the US. Done about 70T miles. None of those issues and my drivers seat leather is in excellent condition. I agree with some other posters attributing many issues to the collision. It is clear this car was repaired to a poor std. The JAGA501-001 was issuwd 4 yeats before the launch of the model. BTW all x351s up to late 2012 will rust due to the steel frame bonded to the aluminium body without adequate protection preventing electrolysis. You must rectify this issue. I will add you should put in new engine mounts around 55 to 60t miles and subsequent intervals. You need to blow out the drain holes cause they get blocked with dust/debri. It needs to be serviced every year. Also put on EBC pads. Way better for performance and dust. Best saloon I have ever had. I have had Ferraris blah blah and have a Merc SLS Roadster owned for last 6 years. This XJ is a very good drivers car.
Oh man this is one abused jaguar. It is so sad to see that due to poor maintenance so many things are broken and that leather is screaming for some cleaning. Looks like it was in the front end collision as the gaps on the bonnet and wings doesn't line up. Oh man sad very sad
Yes everything that you said is true. I did mention in the video that this car was in a front end collision that was fixed up by me. I am in the process of restoring this vehicle to its former glory
Great video, thank you XJLUXURY!!! I love the Jag can’t wait for the reliability series!!! Absolutely gorgeous Jaguar!! I love all the wood trim and how it wraps around the dash!! This is my dream car!!😍😍
Thanks for the input, man! I really hope to buy a hugely depreciated 2016-2017 XJL within 6 years!! Here in Italy you don't get to see many Jaguars! I had actually heard that this WONDERFUL car doesn't have many issues, although I understand you wanted to make everything clear about the flaws of your personal model!! At the moment I own a BMW 3 series MY 19, but I often think of the XJ!! Looking forward to purchase it; it could even be perfect for a family! Great job! Keep it up! I also hope you're doing fine during these quite tiresome times! Stay strong and be safe! Peace
Thank you for your support of my video and good luck with your search in six years! You will definitely be able to get one for cheap by then. We are all doing fine in my family over here thank you for your concern and I hope you stay safe as well.
Considering you bought an insurance write off, I suppose it's only to be expected you have issues. I'm looking at one of these for my next car (main dealer with 12 months warranty hopefully) so thanks for the heads up on potential problems.
Yes this was an insurance write off but the accident had nothing to do with 90% of the issues I mentioned. I was just showing how this particular car has held up. Congratulations on your new car!
@@XJLuxury Maybe what he meant was, it has been through the hands of insurance and I'm assuming insurance auctions. Those people generally don't care to treat the car the way a caring owner would treat it.
Hey I have a 2015 F-Type R and the mirror fell off when I tried to fix it the windshield cracked I had it replaced by safelite auto glass they came to my house they had to order it from Jaguar cost me about 500.00. And just a side note if your going to replace your water pump don't forget there's a plastic piece that's behind the water pump, also you may as well replace the front coolant y-pipe and the rear coolant cross over pipe there both made of a two piece plastic pipe that's been welded together they always start to leak at the seams and where it mounts, also there's a plastic coupler in the supercharger snout that will break I heard there's better after market part for that one. All of these things I mentioned are for either the v6 or v8 supercharged engines, my car I bought used with 23000 mi about 5yrs ago it now has 32000 so I haven't had any problems so far but I'm preparing for the inevitable haha, I figure if I gotta go in and fix one thing may as well fix em all at once. Enjoy your beautiful ride aloha from Hawaii.
I had a 2010 XF and it had similar problems. Just about all of them were due to a front collision by previous owner. Lot's of the interior bits and parts just "crack loose" when the car hits something hard.
One of the most enduring gifts from Ford was the increased reliability with these XJ's. I owned one from the previous generation (2009 Vanden Plas), and it was silky, efficient, and had a great V8 note. But, what Ford ameliorated in reliability, they robbed in quality. The entire car is cheaply constructed-- from the frame, to the interior pieces, to the part quality. It really is a shame, because when you line this thing up next to an S-Class, a 7-Series, an LS, and an A8 of the same year... the Jag is spectacularly handsome in comparison. The other cars will have leathers that hold up better, interiors that don't rattle, and electronics that will work better over the lifespan of the car.
My goodness, that is a lot of tings broken or worn out. I have an XJL 2011 and I have som other issues, perhaps I should make a video of my issues? Thanks for the informative round-up. Kind of sad to see such a performance car with so many issues. Your car is not old either!
Honestly people take this video wrong. Yes there are a lot wrong with it but it’s not as bad as people would think for a jaguar. I meant for it to change peoples minds for the better
I had a quick question which might be very helpful for moat of us in general.... do you think the 2014 version of this Jag would be the same car situation or would you think that 2014 may have corrected most issue related with interior materials and durability (for things like seats and electricals etc etc)? Also how long have u had it, i couldnt find it Nywhere in the description
Those are good questions. Usually it takes a few years for a manufacturer to fix issues because some take time to come up. A 2014 is a good year to get. My friend has a 2013 and a lot of the issues that a 2011 has was corrected. Also I’ve owned this car for a little over 2 years.
@@XJLuxury wow thanks for the quick response man, that sounds great. so now that makes me feel that i can expect a lot of these to be fixed in '14 thankyou I might post couple of questions more on this thread as i remember them. TY
Since this is a real wheel drive vehicle, it handles the winter weather horribly. I do not use this vehicle in the rain or the snow. however, if this was the all-wheel-drive version, then it would be perfectly fine with no issue.
I have an 8 year old XJ, over 145k, no issues. Always fully serviced. Just get the odd DPF full as do a lot of city driving. I now use a dpf cleaner in the fuel and no problems...touch wood
I have got my jaguar Xj L 2010 diesel with 400.000 Km with original engine and everything is working fine, all options works. It's all about the maintenance.
I know a lot of guys like you. Prefer to drive the car broken instead of repairing it. They are very stingy and prefer to use it that way When they get bored of using it like this they just sell it and pass the problem on to someone else.
After 5 years in an 8 year old Lexus with over 100,000 miles I have had zero such issues. I'd forgotten how lucky I got making that choice. I have been totally taking it for granted. This video is a useful reminder/cautionary tail.
Is the door actuator a common problem? The Jaguar service dept. told me that 3 of mine are going bad. There should be a recall! I have a 2015 XJL. 🤷🏽♀️
I have had Jaguars since 26 yrs old...no other cars...NEVER HAVE I EVER SEEN OF EXPERIENCE ANY OF THIS...so strange. Even my 2006 is still in extraordinary condition and has held up. My 2016 XJL and all other models I have owned were amazing and well built. I would not consider this video when buying a Jaguar. My sons 2017 XF also has never had issues....Could this be a compeditor video ??? Just sayin....
My car also does not raise the windows when you lock but does lower when holding unlock. I believe it is by design depending on the geographic location the car came from. Both my exhaust clamps broke last week :)
60,000 miles with a driver's seat looking like that, my guess is that it has been clocked, the mileage is incorrect,, thanks for posting the video, it gives what to look out for if buying..
My wife just purchased this same model and year from hergood friend. I TOLD HER that her "friend" hadn't disclosed REMOTELY ALL OF THE ISSUES WITH THE CAR. She got a great price. But the total cost of repairing repairing just the most serious issues is more than the blue book value value of the vehicle. That is just the facts.
just picked one up for $17K with 69K miles, little worried it being so cheap vs it's retail of $120K, Have you had any issues with the brake T lines or power steering? (Brake T lines are not threaded right from factory and leak, Power steering pumps go out - per Common issues with the car website) Had the dealership check it before I bought the car and it was leaking, just needs to be tightened.
So I’ve been searching around for a bit now for a video of the Xj where they put up the sunroof and show how it looks from like far away, you think you might be able to do that sometime? Btw I’m a big fan haha, I’ve probably watched all your videos 3 times over, keep it up👍
Hey man great video I'm looking into buying this car and wanted to know if you made the maintenance and reliability video because I didn't see it on your page

There’s an easy fix for the dome light that comes on by itself. Need to grease the connectors; there’s a video on youtube that shows you what you need to do.
Mine even the rear vanity mirrors broke. At first I thought leave it nobody uses them anyways. Wrong, because they keep flapping and the sound was irritating. Had it replaced at $350 a pair. Ridiculous.

@@XJLuxury but as far as the bug guard.....I know it pops up. But the bottom came out the track yesterday a little and I was wondering if you've seen that or know how to fix it. Can I send you a picture?
Be happy that the engine, the Transmission and the back Suspension still work. The Rest is just cosmetic. 2x back Suspension kostet 1800Euro. For my Passat CC i paid 33Euro for two. Lol
It's funny this is a salvaged vehicle because I'm bidding on one from a salvage auction. These are beautiful cars, but I'm not paying all that money for something I know how to get cheaper. Good video and good luck with the car.
Yeah man you got the right idea. These people on here who come in saying that my car is messed up because it’s salvaged have no idea that 99% of what is wrong with my car has nothing to do with it being in a fender bender. Good luck
I have a 2015 xf with 50k mls and looks and feels brand new, door locks a common issue but can be fixed by yourself in an afternoon for cheap. Americans really do seem to get ripped off with car work and parts, headlights for my xf new can be found in the UK for approx £450 same for the XJ. Never seen a rear screen go tbh looks like it could have wacked from the inside? That looks like it was totally used and really abused. Probably horrible kids yanking and pulling bits lol
Those panel gaps are indicative of a bigger punch on the nose than it might appear. If they totalled out a 30 grand car then it had more than cosmetic issues.
Insurance is required to replace any part that was involved in the accident. Even if one part just has a scratch. Also insurance can not use used parts they must be brand new from the dealer. That’s why it so easy to total out any car.
That’s great news congratulations two things first I suggest you get a 2016 because that’s when they did the facelift. Also if anything my video should make you feel better about it because my car in my opinion has held up pretty well. I consider most of this normal wear and tear. I’m going to be releasing a video soon about maintenance on my Jaguar and how much it cost me and how much it could cost people. keep an eye out for it and keep me updated
@@XJLuxury So I am about to do as you suggested. Went car shopping today between the XJL and Audi A8. The XJL wins with both the interior and exterior. I took a look at the 2015 and 2016 XJL and you are RIGHT! The 2016 looks much nicer and the infotainment system is a much improved upgrade. Going to get the car inspected Tuesday and if it goes well, be driving home one very soon. Would love to know what's your maintenance cost on your Jaguar though.
In absolute fustration on mine, I got rid of it out of my sight and found a beautiful series 3 V12 with just 20k on the clock in Japan fitted with Dayton wire wheels. Its a proper Jag, actualy a Daimler , been in a Japanese private collection all its life and its virtualy brand new . The nightmare of the previous modern XJL Jag is over and all the niggling electrical problems gone The daft styling banished for good . My series 3 is analogue and all equipment works as it should . Worst thing Jaguar ever did was to stop making the series 3 .
found an incredible deal on 2011 xjl with 34k miles listed at 18k. if i pull the trigger this will be my first car but i’m nervous about the maintenance. car has no accidents reported but do you think service is something i should worry about considering the mileage
That sounds like an amazing deal and you can probably get it for less than 18,000 however I am very weary about giving you the OK because you said this is your first car and there are a few reasons behind that. First everyone crashes their first car and this is not a car that you want to crash. Also I’m assuming that you are young and your insurance rates for this car will be through the roof also the maintenance shouldn’t be that bad however I am also assuming that you don’t make much money right now and therefore even a simple oil change could be half a weeks worth of pay for you. If I am wrong and you are making good money then yes this is a great deal but I would get a different car right now such as a beater car in my personal opinion. Good luck and let me know what you decide!
The overall wear n tear on this car suggests it’s actual Milage is closer to 100,000 miles plus, not 60,000 as suggested. It also looks like it’s been neglected and badly maintained regardless of the front end accident. The good exterior condition does not match the poor interior condition. I suspect the car is hiding a dubious history but at the end of the day it’s a Jaaag so enjoy 😊
It's a salvage, a heavy shunt is the reason all those things have been weakened and have broken. Very misleading video if, like I did, you initially missed the point that it's a salvage car.
OK....I bought a 2016 XJ 3.0 D two years ago with 160K KLM.....not one issue as of yet....we keep it in a garage and as we are older we dont really drive it to its full potential though
Anything 2012 onwards is pretty good as they have the 8 speed gear box. Must have full history. Jags make you feel different on the road. People notice you as the car is not so common as the German brands which are everywhere and so no exclusivity.
I have the 2013 xjl supercharged. The car is very fast and a head Turner every where you go, it feels like you are royalty when driving it.But the maintenance is really expensive, i am a car guy and do maintenance on all my cars but this one i am afraid to touch it. Once it starts to give you issues it will never end. If your serious about buying one buy one that has the updated cooling system (pipes) 2013 came out with cooling issues and to change the part you have to change all this other parts since you have the parts already off. Where I live not everyone works on this cars so the only other choice is the dealer, for example dealer wanted $ 2,000 for brakes, regular oil change $200. The control arm bushings wear out but to replace them you have to replace the whole arm so that's about $1,700, o and to fix the cooling leak is about $1,500 to $2,000 to replace pipes and if you already have it a part might as well replace the water pump, and don't get me started on the supercharger. Anyway I hope I didn't discouraged you but it does feel good when you drive it. Good luck
@@XJLuxury eagerly waiting for it. And can you also do comparison of audi, bmw and mercedes. Which is more reliable over the course of time and which bramd has expensive parts of them all
Hey folks, I’m about to join the XJL family. In the market for one, I’m floating the idea of buying a extended warranty, like from the advertised CARSHEILD. The car experts frown upon extended warranties, but this foreign exotic may need to be the exception, any thoughts.
After watching this video i was planning to change my 2011 s class to xj for that sporty feeling but that ia gone now anyways i have heard 2014 onwards jaguar updated the xj with new aluminium sunroof and other parts etc rest i don't know but they are no such problems with the s class only problem you is the front airmatic shocks if somehow you forget to turn down the raised suspention and go high somewhere on hills or even getting on a ramp the shockers will blast like a tyre blast noise and you are stuck so the dealer told me this car is ment to driven on straight roads even park it straight...🤔
Just wait 5 minutes and your sun visor will break and sag. I had to replace both sides. Not cheap and hard to find used ones that aren't also broken. The best price I could find for a new one was $800. Regardless, I'm probably keeping this car forever. 2014 XJ 5.0 SC. 114K
What happened to your mass air ow meter was oil mist from shitty k and n filter contaminated heater element on your sensor and burned it out...two identical sensors one of them have extra wire at least on diesels both identical one not using heater element as only one will be reading air temperature entering engine so switching them round would solve problem ...air filters where u need to apply oil to capture fine particles they ok for carboratour engines simply no place for that garbage in modern cars..
First and foremost he said around 10:30 minutes into the video he stayed it was in a front end collision and brought from the salvage auction so it was already in bad condition. He wouldn't have them issues if it wasn't salvaged. Common sense. I have 2015 brought from auction and love it. 90,000 miles don't have them issues.
Some of that damage is misuse and neglect. Your washer bottle leak probably stems from the frontal impact so you can't blame that on Jag ! A friend has done 300k in one of these and has had none of your issues ⚠️ Very informative all the same 👍✅

@@taylormadecash9843 i got 1 you better be
Starting with an immaculate car it can only get worse :-(
If you could open your sunroof, you’d see you probably have rust in the sunroof track. Only non-aluminum piece on the car.
You may also want to replace/ update the routing of your coolant lines when you replace the water pump. They changed the routing in ~2016. Far fewer issues with the newest setup.
Good points I will keep that in mind
What did they re rout ? The coolant lines ? Was it the coolant lines that are behind the motor .
Can't believe you have a baseball bat at the side of your driver seat.
I suggest a 12 inch shifter, it's easier to justify its existence.
Wow that’s crazy. I thought I was the only one. It’s a shame that this happened

XJLuxury keep up the great content 🙌
People don't let this distract you from the fact that this was already a SALVAGED vehicle to begin with.
Thank you for reminding them. Majority of the items that are broken have nothing to do with the fact that its salvaged.
10:15 the vehicle has been in a front end collision. Hence the impact is seen on so many other parts ! Otherwise they’re not so bad !
I didn’t know the front end collision impact radiated to the interior.
@@XJLuxury unfortunately it would, as the body and frame would be damaged due to force of the collision, this then would result in misalignment of other parts.
Once a vehicle is in a crash, unfortunately it would never be the OEM standard again.
I’ve owned several Jaguars and they are the most reliable cars you can hope for plus so much class
I agree!
this is worse than when Chevrolet claimed to be more reliable than Honda! to say that Jaguar vehicles are the most reliable is really not knowing anything about vehicles!
@@DamienMalakay I am only going on my and several friends experiences.

That would be a good idea. You also need to remember headlights with AFS are much more expensive than non AFS ones. Thanks!
My ladys 2016 buick enclave front light cost $2000 to fix. Maybe I should get her a jag so we can afford the upkeep 🤷♂️
All cars with those headlights now days. Like audi. Bmw. Mercedes benz. Jags. They all cost over 1000 pounds :)
I have a 2014 XJ now and the roll down works but the roll-up does not work. I'm not sure if it comes with that feature or not. But still doesn't work.
Thanks I will look into that!
Maybe ours are stuck?
You make great points!
I’m wondering how many of these issues are down to the fact that this car has clearly been in an accident and poorly repaired…..

2013 xj portfolio, no issues. Been looked after.
I couldn’t agree more
My goodness, that is a lot of tings broken or worn out.

How’s this handle winters in NY?
Since this is a real wheel drive vehicle, it handles the winter weather horribly. I do not use this vehicle in the rain or the snow. however, if this was the all-wheel-drive version, then it would be perfectly fine with no issue.

Not that I know of. That’s crazy that 3 of them are going. Don’t count on a recall.
XJLuxury ikr...it’s rare for Jaguar to recall.

No competitor video here. It all comes down to the previous owners of the vehicle and how they cared for it.
My car also does not raise the windows when you lock but does lower when holding unlock. I believe it is by design depending on the geographic location the car came from. Both my exhaust clamps broke last week :)
I believe it’s regulated as well and wow luckily you caught it!
60,000 miles with a driver's seat looking like that, my guess is that it has been clocked, the mileage is incorrect,, thanks for posting the video, it gives what to look out for if buying..
Is there a aftermarket maintenance policy that can be purchased to remedy these kind of problems. ASAP!
Yes there are some companies that offer it
My wife just purchased this same model and year from hergood friend. I TOLD HER that her "friend" hadn't disclosed REMOTELY ALL OF THE ISSUES WITH THE CAR. She got a great price. But the total cost of repairing repairing just the most serious issues is more than the blue book value value of the vehicle. That is just the facts.

Yeah what you say is very true and lol it was probably from kids
I reckon a lot of these problems are to to it being in a massive prang coupled with the fact it hasn't been looked after very well!

The nightmare of the previous modern XJL Jag is over and all the niggling electrical problems gone The daft styling banished for good . My series 3 is analogue and all equipment works as it should . Worst thing Jaguar ever did was to stop making the series 3 .
It’s a shame yours gave you so many issues.
I love how you have it in original condition, no tacky styling with dark windows! You drive with class!

found an incredible deal on 2011 xjl with 34k miles listed at 18k. if i pull the trigger this will be my first car but i’m nervous about the maintenance. car has no accidents reported but do you think service is something i should worry about considering the mileage
You only live once !
@@XJLuxury how much for the oil change? must i do that in a jaguar dealer?
Sorry for your troubles :(
Is this car XJ still in production?
Yes this will be the last year. 2021 will be completely new all electric

Good luck
How reliable the car is after long period of time. Is there a chance of getting engine related issue, AC. Or any of those major things
It has been very reliable for me. I am making a video soon breaking down the reliability of the car. Stay tuned for it
@@XJLuxury eagerly waiting for it. And can you also do comparison of audi, bmw and mercedes. Which is more reliable over the course of time and which bramd has expensive parts of them all
@@kartikbajaj5497 The XJ is the most reliable among these
I got all the same issues 04 xj vdp
Wow
Hey folks, I’m about to join the XJL family. In the market for one, I’m floating the idea of buying a extended warranty, like from the advertised CARSHEILD. The car experts frown upon extended warranties, but this foreign exotic may need to be the exception, any thoughts.
Honestly if you can get an extended warranty at a good price I would say do it. To me paying a little extra for piece of mind is worth it
I need that piece of mind insurance, will be subscribing to your channel.
Glad to hear that and welcome to the club!
Buy it please
After watching this video i was planning to change my 2011 s class to xj for that sporty feeling but that ia gone now anyways i have heard 2014 onwards jaguar updated the xj with new aluminium sunroof and other parts etc rest i don't know but they are no such problems with the s class only problem you is the front airmatic shocks if somehow you forget to turn down the raised suspention and go high somewhere on hills or even getting on a ramp the shockers will blast like a tyre blast noise and you are stuck so the dealer told me this car is ment to driven on straight roads even park it straight...🤔
The Jaguar has been very reliable for me
Just wait 5 minutes and your sun visor will break and sag.
You are very correct!
This is like every other luxury car tbh. I like the baseball bat by the front seat😂
That’s the point lol and I’m glad you like it.
A friend has done 300k in one of these and has had none of your issues ⚠️
Very informative all the same 👍✅
I'm going to buy a xjl tomorrow but now I will rethink about it.
Do not second guess yourself. You are making a good decision. These items are fixable and may not even be an issue on the one you get .
@@XJLuxury Thanks to let me know. And thank you for make video of the car with details. I will go to see the car and test it.
I have an 8 year old XF.. the only problem, okay it's not a problem but it's something I don't like is that switching to high beam it's a bit clunky.. maybe you should get an xf lol
All cars wear and age different based on many factors.
What’s with the baseball bat that might stop the seat
