Our final talk at the 'Amazing Brains: The remote revolution' virtual event. Olympic world champion, Michael Johnson, and one of the faces of our ‘Save research. Rebuild Lives’ campaign, Ronnie Staton, came together to record a very special talk for this event. Michael and Ronnie both share a passion of running and fitness, and they are also both stroke survivors. In their conversation, they share their experiences of stroke.

I am a stroke survivor ( 2020) and I really appreciated hearing your stories. Like you guys my stroke initiallly affected my leftside. It woke me up and the pain was intense. I didn't get immediate treatment but I am still able to function. Compared to my previous self I am weaker and fatigued. But life goes on and I have many good friends and a great husband. Thanks for this talk

Yeah, I was dreaming of a sort of struggle then woke up having trouble moving. I’m an active mover in the bed 😂. When I actually got up it was difficult. ❤

I wasn't that lucky I was taken to the hospital, yes, but they didn't do anything about it. The doctor didn't even believe me! I knew I had had a stroke. But I knew because I couldn't walk anymore and this time I couldn't speak right
