I have a 5075e CHA with loaded. It’s a lot of tractor for the money. I use it for land clearing, moving dirt, logs, moving heavy pallets around the farm and I do 10 acres of hay. I could have gotten away with a smaller machine maybe a 5055 or a 5065 but I was told “get the biggest tractor you can afford. You will never wish your tractor was smaller, but you will always wish it was bigger.” Anyway way, it has been a excellent machine and I have no regrets. Thanks for your videos.
All the 5Es are the same chassis except horsepower and the transmission options. We bought this tractor for less than $20,000 and for a specific use. I had been looking for used tractors and after finding this it was hard to pass up a brand new tractor for only a couple thousand more then used. It replaced a 135 Massey. Thanks for watching
Nice video on the John Deere Ben and congrats on your subscription milestone! I really enjoy watching your channel as you cover so many of the things I do at my property. Keep them coming! Merry Christmas from Northwest Pennsylvania.
Like others that commented, I want to congratulate you on hitting 10k subs. I don't have a 5 series, just an old 1969 1020 gas, but I did run a 5055 JD once on a 4x5 654 New Holland round baler. The books all said that it would not run the baler, to my surprise it did a good job. It was a little light in holding back the baler on a steep terrace, but it had plenty of hp to run the baler. I'm glad your channel is doing good and just to let you know, I appreciate what your doing. Have a good week!
I got a John Deere 2020 that I about couldn’t get out of park one time. I made the mistake of parking it on a steep down hill slope to lift a log with a boom pole and it took a solid 10 minutes of doing everything for it to come out of park. The sliver lining was at least it gave me confidence that it wouldn’t kick out of park. The new tractors should be better.
I may not have commented on all of your videos, Ben, but I've been playing catch-up binge watching your channel, but I always give all your videos likes. Your videos and work you put into them are well deserved of a like. May this new year bless you and your family.

@khtractors yes they are very rare. Keep up the good work. Love watching your videos. I got an 8 speed transmission that came out of an industrial 135 and saved it just in case something happened to the multi-power on my 135. Just did the engine overhauled on my 135 love the old perkins diesel good plowing tractor.
Nice video. I have a 5045E with the 512 loader in two wheel drive. I purchased the two wheel drive model because the four wheel drive model was just outside my budget. However, this two wheel drive model has done everything I’ve needed including some things I didn’t think was possible. It’s been in mud so bad that the front wheels stopped rolling but yet the tractor continued plowing through. I added a backhoe attachment to it and the set up is for “quick attach and disconnect” for the backhoe and it works great. I have 132 acres of open field and woods. Most of the work this tractor does is heavy brush hogging. I’ve been very impressed with this tractor and for my use I call it “Right Sized” as it is robust enough to perform large, heavy tasks but nimble enough to get in to areas where any larger tractor would have difficulty. You mentioned the heavy front axle being robust enough to handle a loader. That is completely correct! The 512 loader is perfect for this tractor and the front axle and wheels handle the heavy loads perfectly. This tractor is a work horse and has 225 trouble free hours on it. John Deere changed the designator for the newer versions (2023 and later, I think) to the 5050E which lends credence to your comment that it has a 50 horsepower engine. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on the 10K Ben. Number was alot lower when I subscribed. I have a 5055e, already have commented to you on some of the features. Overall..a good machine. PTO control lever is a pain on the left side. C range reverse..could cause whiplash. Mine does the regen about 100 hour intervals. Merry Christmas from Tennessee!

Congratulations on your 10,000 subscribers, I’m still working on my 1000 but with help from channels like yours where folks see me comment I’m praying will boost it past the 1000 mark then take off!! Yes Ben the regen process is rough on an engine no doubt but a clogged exhaust would probably be worse, this is why I still don’t own any newer equipment, just simply because of EPA standards and the extra expense of having to use def fluid in 2010 & newer equipment!!! Great instructional video, can’t wait for part 2!!

My old 2640 (‘77 model) stuck in park once, I had to take the loader and pick up the front end to get it to come out. My 5400 (same design transmission as your 5045E) has done that yet. The Deere regen system typically does the regen every 50 hours, if you run it the way you do yours. I’ve seen them regen more frequently if someone doesn’t run them at PTO speed for extended intervals. You’re right in the engine horsepower, a 5045E should be 50 at the engine. Deere hasn’t changed those tractors much since the original 5000 series came out in the 1990’s.
@@khtractors we always told folks to run them at PTO speed as much as possible because it would keep the exhaust temps high enough to where it wouldn’t need to regen as often as letting it idle. BTW, I’m still searching for pictures of a 5065E 2WD I sold that had a ton of accessories in it, to send to you.

At the lower end of the horsepower spectrum, the 5M tractors are produced in a John Deere factory in Augusta, Georgia, whereas the 5E issues from Deere’s Hadapsar factory, which lies near Pune, south-east of Mumbai, India. Is this true?
The newer (FT4) 5E 3 cylinders were really built in India, but final assembly was in Augusta, GA. The 5E 4 cylinders were built all in Augusta along with the 5M’s. The original 5X03, 5D and 5E’s were built completely in India.
Really underpowered and had several little electrical issues. The dealership had no luck fixing them permanently, kept having the same issue. Four-wheel drives are great, but since we have bought this John Deere, I haven't had any situations where four-wheel drive would have been beneficial. They are beneficial with loaders and certain pulling situations, but two-wheel drive on this tractor is all we need for our purpose. Some people underestimate what can be done with a two-wheel drive.
