If only you could bottle this amazing experience and sell it, you would be a very rich man! This has to be our favourite video of yours to date Murray, it had it all, sunshine, clear mountain views, stunning lochs, and then of course nature put on an incredible show!🤩. We felt giddy just watching this on film so can only imagine what it must have been like to actually see it with your own eyes, something that will stay with you for the rest of your life🥰. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video and northern lights, absolutely amazing. Spent 7 days there last year hiking around loch morar, loch shiel and Glenfinnan estate. Pure peace, tranquility and remoteness.
My son and I also traveled to Iceland to see the Aurora Borealis, aound this time of year in 2019. We raced past patches of clouds for open sky and waited to no avail. We'd heard they'd been spectacular days/nights earlier. Maybe one day a return trek to Scotland will be in order. It’s been such a long time ... 33 years ago. Through your videos I've revisited some, the few, treks I'd done back then. Thanks ever so much for all the time you take to film the beauty and wonder of Scotland. Happy trails to you.
Wow Murray. You outdid yourself - what am I saying? - Nature outdid Herself. The Aurora Borealis was a phenomenon my Mom woke me up out of a deep sleep to crawl out into the cold one night to see. It was worth it but nothing as stunning as your video; thanks for sharing it with us out here.

An excellent video as always Murray and as one who used to be a volunteer with a steam engine between Fort William and Mallaig, I can certainly relate to that panaramic view of Loch Shiel. My last venture to the west highlands was that very location but further down the hill. The line end to end never got boring as there was something new on each turn of the track. People have said that viewing the northern lights can be emotional as it makes you think that there is something bigger than yourself "out there". Thanks for this piece of magic you managed to capture. 👍

I very much like the tent opening acting as a "portal" to Loch Shiel. 🙂 Many years ago I stood on the top of Beinn Dorain looking down onto the two railway viaducts of the horseshoe curve, between County March summit and Bridge of Orchy, ....they looked like model railway structures at that height. You looking down onto Glenfinnan viaduct reminded me of that.

Amazing Murray, what an experience of a lifetime you had that night, as if camping above Glenfinnan wasn't enough! We were jumping with excitement witnessing the Aurora from our bedroom on Skye... Even with the light of the near full moon it was magnificent (both nights). To cap it off I'd planned to propose the following day at Quiraing (where I'd met my girl) on our anniversary day. Fantastic.

I can remember sitting on the sofa when the alert came up on my phone but to get away from light pollution would’ve taken an hour so didn’t bother, I’m gutted. I can only imagine how elated you must’ve felt after that! Sunset, aurora and cloud inversion, a dream come true
My God I can't love this video enough Murray! I've been thinking recently that my days of lugging a tent up a mountain are behind me, but this has made me even more determined to get back to the levels of fitness required, even if I have to get my kids to carry most of the gear :)

Absolutely fantastic. Hard to imagine the thrill you got from seeing the aurora, especially as you weren't "hunting" for it. Alone on mountain hillside and for it just to appear unexpectedly and so strong.Wow😍
