Sad it wasn't put the moment when Lauren says "I'll make the call. I'll take responsability. Please, Max, let me do it for you" And tears when Max gives her his permission to do it. At that moment Bloom's character development reached its peak, because she finally became a doctor again, it is like she resurrected from ashes to save the day
Honestly it is an impossible choice to make. Being forced to choose between your wife and your baby is something I don't wish to anyone. Because it doesn't matter who you choose, you'll regret for the rest of your life not saving the other blaming yourself for doing it
Logically but coldly it would be best to save the wife. She can have another child, I know that may sound cold but another child can be made but another mother cannot be made. Would you rather have the knowledge that you have traded one child for another or force the child to live their life without a mother?
@@cupoftea3499 but what if the mother suffers the sequels of the surgery? What if she gets traumatized or the gravity of the intervention makes her unable to have more children in the future? What if she gets depressed and never recovers from that lose?

@@cupoftea3499 But you're trading that original child's life for the new hypothetical child they may have in the future. It's an impossible choice, like, logically you can argue that they can always have another kid..but that doesn't help that original child.
@@markfuston2714 exactly. And there is no definitive guarantee of a second child. Like it's a difficult choice to make but sometimes situations call for utilitarian ethics.
Thankfully, Bloom was there to help Max and was prepared to make the choice for him. And this happened because Max extended to Bloom a license to recover from her adderall adiction. In some way it was fate that made her go to Max's place, he helped her at her lowest and now she is helping him in his lowest moment of his life
I asked my husband to save me. I loved my son but I could not give up my life and all my plans for someone who I didn’t even know. We could try again and still be together. It seems cruel to leave my husband alone with a child and full of grief. I rather work together to mourn our son and stay together.
You're not wrong on how you didn't want to leave your husband with a child and grief about your "passing," and I'm assuming you were still conscious when saying to your husband to save you (or you guys had an extensive talk beforehand). However, wouldn't you feel guilty about saving your life and knowing that you couldn't conceive again because of this outcome? (I mean, you can adopt, but people aren't too keen on taking someone else's kid) and I'm only asking because I'm just morally confused on your comment
@@falcon8105 There is no right answer, everyone makes decisions based on a lifetime of experiences. The only person who can answer any question of morality, is the person going through it. I cannot imagine how difficult any decision of this magnitude would be, nor can I pass judgement because I have never been through it.
@@falcon8105 I, for one, would be glad to have someone else's child. I have no intention on giving birth to my own but would still like to have the opportunity open to be a mother in general. You probably should only be speaking for yourself in this situation instead of applying generalizations to the entire population based on your opinion of adoption.
I think you made the right decision, you two can always try again and if it's not possible then there are other options such as adoptions and surrogate mothers. If your son had been saved instead of you, he would have suffered from not having a mom and your husband would have lost his soulmate.
You made the right decision, and if this helps at all.. Scientists discovered that every Child leaves some of their Cells living in the Mother's Brain.. so they will always be a part of you.

That's the slowest 12minute ambulance in history... Before 12 minutes had passed, doctor collected all items needed for operation, managed to heat up a pan with water hot enough to sterelize, sedate the woman and operate, close the wound.
And the Ambulance still hasn't arrived.

I thought the mom made the choice when she told him how to raise their daughter. Weird that he thought he was making it instead of her.
This is what's bugging me most about the comments on the video - the choice had already been made. She had directly asked that, should it come down to it, Max should save the baby. Regardless of whether or not more children could be had, the only ethical choice from that moment onwards was to save the child.
I already mentioned this to IAMAYLACAT in another comment, but she was also on Fentanyl at the time she 'made that choice' which would mean she was literally drugged.. and thus not capable of consenting to anything.
Honestly, I figured right from the start Georgia was gonna get axed. They were already teasing at a romance with Helen.
Im still upset they did the finale. It was such a great series.

I've seen the traffic in New York City, and I always wondered how emergency services even fucking work with that many cars on the road...

Wife Died on the way to the hospital in a car crash after this. If he saved his wife here. She would have died if the same crash happened. resulting in him losing his wife and child.

I will always choose the mother (unless I am asked only at a time when her death can no longer be prevented). I know her and had already decided to live with her; the baby I do not know and do not know if I can live with him/her. If the mother (hopefully) survives and resents me, I will live with it.

Think that they acted fast, all happened in minutes. Because of how intense is this moment time passed very slow. If you ask me I believe everything happened in, at much, 15 minutes

My bf wanted to choose me so did my mom but I told him I put in a lot for our daughter to be healthy n alive n I suffered a lot during my pregnancy I didn't want it all to be for us to lose her I was willing to risk my life if it meant our daughter was alive

Gotta save the wife. You can make more babies and they don't really have any memories yet. If you let the babie go its just you and her that are sad if you let the mother die you are ruining her parents lives her siblings lives, your life, I know it's crewl but I feel like a person that is a part of many peoples lives makes more sense to save. I mean their is a chance the babie could be a second Hitler. Imagine how stupid you would feel letting your wife die only to save Hitler 2

Probably not because it's a show. The ambulance would have been there before the finished the first surgery realistically if they were only 12 mins away

@@ivco93 Yeah, some crazy drug addict stole ANOTHER ambulance and crashed into THEIR ambulance on the way to the hospital. It was the cliffhanger of the season finale. The druggie and one of the paramedics were killed in the crash. The doctor that delivered the baby was flung from the ambulance (she was talking to the paramedics between their seats at the time of the collision) and suffered severe damage to her leg. She recovered, but the constant extreme pain from that was only compounded by the fact that she was an opioid addict and thus she couldn't take the good stuff. She had LITERALLY just gotten out of rehab when all of this happened. At first the wife appeared to have survived too, appearing in the second season premiere. However, it was revealed that the guy was hallucinating her which he did for awhile: she survived the initial crash, but she later developed a brain hemorrhage or something like that from it and she died on the operating table.

Georgia (pregnant woman) survived the labor, however after they were heading to the hospital the suffered a car accident , in the end Georgia died on the operation table of that hospital

I can’t imagine any mother wanting to save herself and not her child.
I can ( 13pregnancies 5 live kids- so grateful) but it is a much harder decision if you already HAVE kids because they need you so much ..... Mom/ Dad phrase " I would die for you without blinking" and its true.......because there is no life worth having without them .....no right choices here ...just tragedy ....and miracle.....both? are absolute
I can and I know so many others that want to save themselves too. Lot's of women would rather live to be a mother and raise another child instead of die and let their children be motherless or have regrets of being born.
I’d save myself.
Its much more complicated than that. What if you already had 3 kids? would you let yourself die for your 4th leaving all 4 without you? Life is full of hard choices but even if its my first kid I'm choosing to save myself.
I would never want a child growing up without me. An adult has relationships and responsibilities - the mom should always take priority.
I am no one to be choosing people’s lives but if that man was me I would say the baby ik it sounds awful but the baby hasn’t even had a life yet
