It really is. I had surgery’s while back and with no family in the state of florida. The nurse stayed with me and held my hand for all of it. They had to put a central line in me and it was the first time I got one while conscious. Nurses can be such angels.

That’s pretty good. Usually premies are in NICU for a couple of weeks at least.
But 4 weeks early isn’t really a drama at all these days. Medical advancements and all that. 😊

      TW: Baby loss
I was born at 24 weeks- Idek how I'm alive XD
I'm not supposed to be, doctor's told my mum she couldn't get pregnant, then she had me at 24 weeks, spent months in NICU and they said I wouldn't survive- I turn 18 in December and I have two younger brothers after doctors told my mum her still born twins (the pregnancy after me) had caused irreparably damage and she couldn't have any more babies after me-
      Miracles do happen, sometimes (:

They did a great job with the size. Have 2-32 week babies myself. Wish they were more realistic about after though. There is no way that baby woul be in her room. NICU, and you have multiple specialists training you on how to hold and interact with a premature baby at that age.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Cause most twins are delivered around 31/32 weeks anyway usually weighing 4 pounds at smallest 3. And she was fairly large in the stomach area which means he was most likely normal birthing size. In this he's like the size of what would be a 20/21 week fetus. And if he's breathing on his own then he definitely was full term so he couldn't have possibly been that small even with him not putting on full weight he would of still weighed at least 3 pounds. And 31 weeks is perfectly safe to deliver at this would not have been such a big deal at my hospital because once you hit 30 weeks you can deliver anytime and almost all babies survive at that gestation age. They maybe in the NICU for a few days at most s week but usually can leave when mom is discharged unless there's a medical reason as to why they can't. And that's usually because they are not putting on weight as quickly as we like but nothing that would be considered an emergency. This show clearly did not use an actual Dr as a proxy between itself and a hospital so they could be accurate.

Good enough, so she got a really bad disease - infection that almost killed her but she’s alive today in turning 42 and four days.

I was forced to have a csection due to being so young, and then every other baby i had after that, I was forced to have csections due to a narrow pelvis Then, ended up with a deadly condition with my 4th pregnancy, BECAUSE of the previous abdominal surgeries, that ended in a hysterectomy 😢
I feel like they took advantage of me being young to try and get it over with since I had been in active labor for over 24 hours. they didn't want to try and help me get through the labor/birth. They just wanted it done. Doctors are a-holes.

A 31 week baby is not that small😭 Many people deliver at that time. Yes, it requires a NICU stay but they should be fine💀

Not going to lie, hospitals should reserve the right to immediately dismiss unruly or uncooperative patients and I'm talking about the husband. Adhering to religious/personal beliefs is one thing, but if your going to casually say 'I can sue you' just because you dont want something is ridiculous. Doctors and nurses shouldnt have to put up with patients who are going to mouth off and scream at them. Especially after all the death threats doctors and nurses got from covid deniers and anti vaxx people.
The fact that he's a lawyer is even more ridiculous. He shouldn't get to flout his job everywhere just to get what he wants. In fact, lawyers who misuse their titles to threaten people should be immediately disbarred as punishment.

They can't do a hysterectomy because she's only 27... DID THEY ACTUALLY SAY THAT?!?!? TEENAGE GIRLS, CAN HAVE HYSTERECTOMIES!!!!

Doesn't mean it's a good idea. If that baby dies she will definitely want another one.

@@joshuahudson2170 ah ok now THAT makes sense. I wonder though, let's say a couple unable to have children, how long until they turn to adoption as there last hope for having a baby ?🤔

It’s not that they can’t actually do the surgery but that a woman that age that has just had their first baby, and that baby is premature and at a higher risk, doing a hysterectomy shouldn’t be the first course of action. They generally try to avoid doing a hysterectomy on women of childbearing age that may want more children. It’s a very permanent solution. It’s like if you had a compound fracture of your leg and they told you that they should amputate your leg since it’s broken. Although in the end that may be the final result you want them to try other methods first. But you CAN have it amputated, you just might not WANT to do that first.

@@BRUNETTECANARYthat’s hard to determine. There are couples who try for 10 or more years and don’t look at adoption as a solution. It’s really about how long a person wants to try until finally realizing it might not happen naturally. I’m 8 weeks pregnant and couldn’t imagine even waiting 5 years to have a baby. At that point I would consider adopting or fostering.

Old school my foot!!! He has NO right!!!!!!! 🤬 i hope things like this don’t happen in real life - no matter what the treatment! I know the producers want high dramatic content, jeez!
Like the idiot surgeon who removed a patient’s dam- liver instead of his spleen (he died). How come NO ONE in that operating room noticed this!? The size is different for heaven’s sake. At least they could have tried to reconnect it!! There are, of course, excellent medical people. But some are jerks!!!
    Sorry, it made soo mad.
Do have a nice day, people :)🌷🌱
