The fun part is that the actor who plays Doctor Han is actually the person responsible for The Good Doctor getting adapted from the original Korean show.
@WarGrowlmon18 Well hopefully Daniel Dae Kim can still be a part of the show from a writing/director standpoint. We all know Mr. Kim is currently playing Fire Lord Ozai in The Last Airbender. If anything Mr. Kim can always come back as a guest star if his shooting schedule allows him to.
I watched the kdrama long time ago when it came out. Every episode was amazing and the lead actor is extremely good for his role. If you like watching the American version I highly recommend the kdrama
@nathanielsahai1319 The actor who plays Dr Han also played Det. Chin Ho Kelly on Hawaii Five-0. After he left the series, his character slot got taken by the new recruits.
The worst part is: Everyone was professionally right to do what they did, and at the same time wrong. Shawn couldn't control himself and it cost him his job, Dr. Han is unable to control his personnel (which includes Shawn) and it cost him his job. Dr. Andrews fired Dr. Han because of Dr. Han's perception of Shawn and his inability to work with Shawn and his limitations. If it was a problem to begin with, the hospital would have never hired Shawn.
@@setaripantheon8801 Exactly. The hospital should have made sure that his employment was as supportive as his needs asked for. The hospital failed and in this meeting proved that they refused, through Dr. Han, to do so.

It's very hard to find a real genuine actor that treats everyone with respect and dignity. In my lifetime I have had the chance to meet a few celebrities and most of the interactions I've had have been very positive. You can usually tell how an actor is in real life through their acting. Daniel Dae Kim is a great actor and a great person. You are very lucky to have met him and had such a great encounter with him. It's something you will remember for the rest of your life. I accidently met Stan Lee in 2010 at Comic Con. He was upset and swearing (as he was being escorted away with his security detail). But you know what? He's a human being! After I found out why he was upset and swearing. I still respected him and still do. Most actors/actresses and famous people don't realize that without fans they would be nobodies.
Steve was very wise even though he was kid and took his older brother responsibilities very serious due to how abusive their parents were towards Shaun. It’s actually really sad that Steve felt the need to step in to be the parent Shaun needed. It’s a shame they killed him off so soon.

I do agree that Shawn can be incredibly annoying and is pampered/coddled sometimes. But I have to say, the writers did a decent job of making Dr Han an antagonist in this storyline (I think villain might be too strong a word). He missed his own welcome brunch, making him appear arrogant. He barged into a non-urgent surgery he wasn’t needed at to assert dominance, and then proceeds to drill and humiliate resident doctors by putting them on the spot and asking questions during a freaking surgery because he has some “high standard”. He plays music distracting the autistic surgeon he wants to get rid of so badly. Three of his doctors are under review by the medical board for malpractice, but he proceeds to blackmail the board by spying on its members. Did it work? Yes but: He was patient, charming and intelligent, but in the long run, I think he would have done more harm than good. Everyone has hated Shaun at one point or the other, even Claire, but they grew to tolerate and appreciate him as time went on. Dr Han didn’t see the big picture, Shaun is an asset and wasn’t treated as such. You could order coaching from a psychiatrist or something, and either Shaun takes the offer or loses the job. Simple don't you think? Edit: Glassman tried to get Shaun coaching once, but Shaun refused and threw a big tantrum. I just realised that Dr Han forcing Shaun to get coaching might look like repetition to the writing team. They wouldn't want to repeat plot points so that makes sense...
I am not saying that its wrong to treat someone bad . But Murphy is coddled and he also rushed into a surgery on the first episode which is not allowed but got away with it. And also this is a drama so I am not shocked that because the show is about Shaun he wins.
When you look at how far these doctors came with regards to Shaun. Andrew’s fought glassman every step of the way when he hired him but now here he is protecting him and standing up for him.
Hey, it's not unheard of. In fact, that's almost my training story. My first boss was not happy with The Match computer deciding we were married, and figured he'd get rid of me after my internship. Less than 12 months later, he fought like the Devil to keep me in the residency, and they let go two others docs with prettier resumes than mine go. There wasn't a patient I ever saw after that without Dr S standing behind me, demanding I be as good as he was and to do him proud. I was unbelievably fortunate to have that mentor and roll model shape me as a physician. Dr S died prematurely, lung cancer, the rare, non smoking type, two years after I finished my training.
It made me cry. I am not a doctor, I am a nurse. I corrected medical errors, saved loved and I was told," we don't think you are competent enough to work in ICU." Shaun had multiple freak outs before that. That's not Shaun being provoked, that's a well know trigger being addressed. A lot of us have to overcome a great deal to integrate with the working world. We sacrifice, we learn coping strategies, and we do our best to meet the same expectations as everyone else in the workplace. Shaun may be a great surgeon; a prodigy even. But he doesn't make the effort to meet the job, or his coworkers, on their own terms in the same way they do for him. Everything is expected to bend to Shaun's needs, as opposed to him bending to be a professional, a coworker, and a surgeon. In reality someone like Shaun, who is so incapable of controlling his emotions and outbursts, should be nowhere near a surgical position. And nothing emphasizes that more than his outrageous reaction to being told as much.
@@WarGrowlmon18I highly soup that will change OP Commenters opinion, Autism will always be a extremely difficult thing to represent in a character UNLESS they actually hire a person with autism
If you’re not willing to make accommodations for an employee that needs it, don’t hire them in the first place. If you need a new boss for that employee, it needs to be a boss that understands and is willing to make those accommodations. Or, again, not hire the person in the first place. I'd become overwhelmed because a shop assistant was confusing me and didn't answer a simple question. It didn't make sense what she was saying. It triggered a small meltdown
ok so those things do happen but also those things for many people if the people around him know what not to do that wont cause him to get triggered. i know for some people its routine, some people its extreme situations that he doesnt know how to react. shaun didnt like being told no or ignored and learn to work with it in the show. having to deal with those thiings while shauns savant syndome cause him to have the best doctor minds that he could understand quickly. shaun can understand reality as long as he is caused to go haywired. if u told me you for other people need to learn things not to do when a certain person is invloved but the trade off of the great surgeon minds u could have due to how his mind worked. that is a trade off that any hospital should make. having a higher up refusing to treat him like he should be treated caused many times where he was right even in very rare cases that not a single person in the building would thought of. ive only watch some of the show but they way he had his mind work is actually a reality for a lot of people who are autistic but its going to be random that they can learn. ive seen some kids on youtube have the most random perfect set of skill but it can be something useless for the most part but it is still impressive and allows him to be able to understand praise because of many of them misunderstand emotions properly without a lot of help
As someone who is autistic(aspergers), and hasnt seen this show: Shawn: "I AM A SURGEON! I AM A SURGEON DR HAN!" Han: "No, Shawn, not anymore. You're just the good."
As a medical practitioner I can assure you; even with that much talent hospitals would not hire Shaun in today's world. I am not insulting his talent at all. At the same time he simply can't be hired for obvious reasons. I'm sorry if you feel offended. Empathy > Sympathy!
you seem to miss, Shaun has empathy, He just follows logic because factual and logical decision making will always be superior to emotional decision making. I guarantee you have seen people mistreat patients because they dont like them, Ive no doubt youve done it as well. Its human. Shaun cant do that, His entire mindset is revolving around saving a life, No matter how much he hates the patient, he will do everything in his power to save him, While some neurotypical doctors will pronounce people dead incorrectly because they dont like the person on the table/stretcher. Logic > Empathy. Its why humanity was able to progress as fast as it did. Emotions can inspire people to action, good or bad. Whereas logic is a constant long line of action, not requiring you to feel something to save a life. You just save it because life is precious.
Considering nearly all of the doctors I've had to deal with (as a patient) have been neurotypical and caused me more harm than when I went into the hospital in the first place. I disagree completely. Why? Because it's only the neurodivergent doctors I've had who actually listen to the patient because they don't let their personal ego's of thinking they are better than everyone else prevent them actually being a good doctor. You must cause your patients harm by making them feel unsafe in your presence and thinking you are a god who knows everything (aka pill popper). I know I would feel unsafe with you as a doctor. Turn in your medical license because you are likely causing direct harm to patients. Perhaps you should consider learning how to have empathy at all since you clearly have none.
Ye no Han getting fired is just bad writing. Shaun on multiple occasions showed his emotions makes him unfit for the job. Just because he’s on the spectrum doesn’t mean anything. He just straight up will end up killing someone accidentally if left the way it is and Han saw that and didn’t want Murphy to possibly lose his entire career over it. This is a massive L on the show

He's the bad guy not because he's Right about Shawn but because of how he treats not just Shawn but everyone else. He blackmails people to get malpractice charges dropped, he intentionally disturbs surgeries that he is not part of to "help" by distracting the head surgeon at the time with stupid questions not about the surgery which could have caused issues, he doesn't correct any of the residents properly (he tells them they made a mistake and instead od going over how to fix it or what they should have done instead he verbally derives them into thinking they shouldn't have tried to begin with) He's a problem in a lot of ways for the hospital as a whole. Not just Shawn.
@@Khontis The problem is, in every other instance he is clearly the bad guy. With Shaun, he's making the mostly correct decisions (as we can tell by the doctors employed in america right now).
He got a lot better over time. It was also heavily implied that he was prejudiced against Shaun because of some kind of a past experience with an autistic person. All that he'd say about it is that that person died.
He made HALF of a genuinely good argument. Unfortunately, he left out of his reasoning the points that add up to Shaun staying, and that happened because Han couldn't separate his personal feelings from his professional feelings. EVERY professional organization accommodates people's quirks, characteristics, and conditions. How many "normal" managers, despite their foul tempers, and poor leadership, remain on their jobs despite plenty of reasons to dismiss them. Heck, there were reasons to fire Han. He insisted on "controlling" his staff instead of leading them, understanding them, supporting them. It made him a bully and a poor leader.
I've heard people say that the second season was anti asian because of Daniel Dae Kim's character. I am trying to understand were the accusations are coming from.
Han demoted Shawn just because his blunt honesty in telling a patient's mother that her antidepressants may have cause the birth defect. The demotion, even if it wasn't really a such, made Han transferred him to pathology. To save patients without interacting with them. To would put all of Shawn's surgical skill into no uses. Shawn had ever right to b out raged when he got fired. He even knew someone who was autistic in his life, but all he says was the person died. I think there's a personal reason he disliked Shawn. So good riddance to him.
Yeah I agree. I think Andrews had a similar argument to Han at the start of the show but after seeing what Shaun could do for himself, he became one of Shaun's closest friends and defenders. He also knew not to coddle Shaun and respected him enough to treat Shaun just like anyone else.
What I never understood was the parents asked a legit good question, and Shaun answered honestly. What was he suppose to do lie? Then the parents would be mad, and he’d look bad. I think Han was looking for any reason to get rid of Shaun
Didn't Shawn leave an operation room MID SURGERY to do something else due to something bothering him? And also call a patient a TERRORIST for dealing with chemicals (which later revealed it was for perfumes)?
Such a dumb idea for a show. In real life, Dr. Murphy would be a consultant but they wouldn't allow him to be surgen just out of the fear of a lawsuit if for nothing else. Yikes.
I can tell you havent watched it he got in because his mentor essentially emotionally blackmailed them to allowing him to be a surgical resident they reflect on that decision constantly in the show.
He's saying if he can't have control over his own staff, then he can't work there. As in if he sees that someone is causing an issue, then he needs to be able to fire them. If a surgeon freaks out during a surgery and walks out then he needs to be able to say you can't continue to do this. This is normal in almost any working environment, but especially in a medical one
As someone on the spectrum myself… I see both sides of the argument. I once almost got fired because I said something that seemed racist even though I was thinking about something entirely different. The only reason I didn’t was by that point I was working there half a year and they knew I was anything but racist. This is something I’ve learned to better handle but not all on the spectrum have the ability to filter their thoughts. To those saying that he shouldn’t interact with the patients then let me ask.. as a patient we are always seen by our surgeon before and after surgery cause we want to know who we are entrusting our lives to… so would you feel comfortable not meeting your surgeon? No matter how awkward they are? To those saying it’s not in dr Hans job description to be able to accommodate for those with needs, that’s where your wrong, superiors need to understand their team in order to function properly. Case in point, let’s say instead of autism Shawn was in a wheel chair? Would the rest of the surgeons just leave him out cause they would need to lower the surgery table lower? I ask this hypothetically, but the accommodation for those with physical and mental disabilities should be applied as equally as possible. Please note I’m an artist not a doctor so this is just a perspective I was wondering if people saw.
I had a physician who was on the spectrum. He was incredibly nice and kind and comforting but straightforward. He was a resident and was going over the surgery I was to have, I also have had a neurological person with very high IQ and was a horrible surgeon and horrible with patient care
But wouldn't there potentially be other issues involved besides lowering the table? Since Shawn in this hypothetical scenario would be confined to a wheelchair, what if he had difficulty reaching over to a certain part of the patient's body from where he was? Would you expect him to wheel around the table to get to that part? Or any other issues that could potentially affect his ability operate where he needs to. While I suppose the other staff would have to work harder to accommodate him, it could easily snowball into a bigger problem. Patients can and will sue the hospital because "the surgeon was not only emotionally compromised but physically compromised". They'll ask why was he put in the OR in that situation to begin with? Just something to think about.
@@Frenzyshark I see you point but often times surgeons have assistants even when fully able to move to do things to assist. I dont see how just asking for assistance more and moving when needed would lead to a bigger problem? As for the patients sueing, yes that is true, but that would be discrimination wouldnt it? and cause of laws to protect others from that the patient suing is less likely to win. after all like shawn hypothetically the answer would be, "because they are good at what they do" I appreciate your opinion and thought experiment though :)
ah but you forget he eventually learns to understand the feeling and eventually does accept her prefered gender. I find it odd that not a lot of people can't understand Dr. Shaun's POV and can so easily side with Dr. Han. They're consciously aware that Dr. Shaun is on the spectrum. So, obviously, he's not gonna respond normally, as someone who is not of the spectrum would, to a lot of things. It's their job to accommodate the person they chose to hire without discrimination. And Dr. Han has discriminated Dr. Shaun a lot throughout the series without trying to understand how to communicate and accomodate Dr. Shaun who, once more, is on the spectrum. He's proven himself to be an amazing asset to the team. Wouldn't you wanna do all you could to keep your strongest asset on board by forcing people like Dr. Han to take a class on finding a way to better communicate with Dr. Shaun.
Now I understand your take on the matter, however one thing that could be argued is the notion that it is Dr.Hans job or that it is his responsibility to be accommodating to Dr.Shawn is unfair or unreasonable. His job requires that he makes sure that his staff does their job and have the means to do it but unless we review his job description or his contract then one could argue that the accommodation would be solely out of Dr.hans choice. Now, please don't assume this is my stance. I am just pointing out the assumption that is being made, that's all. I will say, though, that Dr.Hans treatment of Dr.Shawn was, in my eyes, wrong.
I have to say, I agree with both of you. However, at the same time, I disagree...to a point. If the hospital itself has taken the stance that they're willing to accommodate a surgeon with special needs (and make no mistake, Shawn has special needs!), then what were doing in hiring Dr Hahn in the first place? At the very least he wasn't well vetted and/or equipped to deal with someone requiring those types of needs. In saying that, if the hospital's stance is that the same rules and conditions apply to Shawn as everyone else, then it's clear Hahn was correct to let him go. We all know that not everyone is equipped to deal with someone with special needs. Was that in Hahn's job description? It's definitely not the type of skill you'd expect to need as a surgeon. A SN patient is one thing, but a SN employee is totally different. It obviously takes special type of person to a accommodate someone like Shawn not to mention the obvious burden it puts on not only his immediate supervisor (Hahn) but it also puts an extra burden on other employees. This may not be a popular opinion, but not everyone is as sweet and accommodating as Claire and Glassman and neither should they have to be. Especially if it's creating extra work or extra burden at work for them and it obviously does! I would hate to work with someone who could lose their sh*t at any moment, even in the middle of a surgical procedure... regardless of how brilliant they are. People like Shawn should not be discriminated against but at the same time, we should not have to pander to their every need either! I'm not saying he shouldn't have been employed there, but I am saying that I believe that the benefits of his brilliant do not always mitigate the risks of his limitations . I agree with their decision to give him a trial period to start with. But I also think that they needed to either allow Hahn to decide who worked for him if thats part of his job description. I also think that in deciding to keep Shawn on, they should have preempted something like this when a new team member came on board, so they wouldn't lose a talented surgeon over a junior surgeon. Which, by the way, I don't believe would happen in real life. Sorry for the novel, but these are my scattered opinions, for what they're worth!😅
"It's their job to accommodate the person they chose to hire without discrimination." Only within a reasonable degree not in every way or form. There are plenty of examples of where the accommodations were far beyond reasonable and people can be fired. If that person who is being accommodated for is still compromising patient care, then they have every right to fire that person. It isn't just about Dr. Shuan or Dr. Han, but also the patient's perspective that matters the most.
Accommodating Shaun IS NOT DR HAN's JOB. Expecting this is entitled nonsense. No one is special or gets special treatment. The patient and the team must come first. Whats next, we hire blind people to become surgeons? Intelligence is 50% of being a good doctor; This was the first thing they taught us in med school. Soft skills like communication and being able to work on a team is what employers are after. You either hire Shaun or Han. You can't keep both. A good employer wouldn't have created this mess to begin with.
@@adrianking6907 Legally he would have to make an accommodation for Shawn under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) law. Entire businesses can get shut down if they do not follow the ADA. Not providing accommodations for someone who's disability qualifies under the ADA is called discrimination and is illegal to do so under the ADA. I know this because I am going to school to become a special education teacher and I am also on the spectrum.
while i do think han is an asshole i gotta say there is a limit on how much accommodation is legally required if you hire someone. hes not firing sean hes putting him in a different dept heck as far as im aware its a lateral move not a demotion so hes not even firing him. seans major issue is that he wanted to be a surgeon and nothing else heck if they promoted him to the board at any point sean would still have the same issue. han is the equivalent of any new boss coming in and shaking the place up. when people have worked in a certain way for a while they get into routines creating a groove in the sofa so to speak. the issue is people can become complacent in actual procedures because its the way we've always done it. the issue between a good new boss and a bad new boss is how much you are willing to compromise. han was a hardliner but he came up with a compromise as he did recognise seans talent. sean didnt accept it and they fired han and went looking for someone who fit in the groove better therefore nullifying the reason for hiring him in the first place

It's very hard to find a real genuine actor that treats everyone with respect and dignity. Daniel Dae Kim is a great actor and a great person. You are very lucky to have met him and had such a great encounter with him. It's something you will remember for the rest of your life.
Yes but:
He was patient, charming and intelligent, but in the long run, I think he would have done more harm than good.
Yes. I agree and the simple answer for everything you said is… he’s autistic/on the spectrum.
1000%
Dr Han: chad
Shawn: virgin
I am not saying that its wrong to treat someone bad . But Murphy is coddled and he also rushed into a surgery on the first episode which is not allowed but got away with it. And also this is a drama so I am not shocked that because the show is about Shaun he wins.
He's "pampered" because he has autism and needs a different set of social cues and environment... Have you read the ada before?

Shaun had multiple freak outs before that. But he doesn't make the effort to meet the job, or his coworkers, on their own terms in the same way they do for him. ok so those things do happen but also those things for many people if the people around him know what not to do that wont cause him to get triggered. i know for some people its routine, some people its extreme situations that he doesnt know how to react. shaun didnt like being told no or ignored and learn to work with it in the show. having to deal with those thiings while shauns savant syndome cause him to have the best doctor minds that he could understand quickly. shaun can understand reality as long as he is caused to go haywired.
if u told me you for other people need to learn things not to do when a certain person is invloved but the trade off of the great surgeon minds u could have due to how his mind worked. that is a trade off that any hospital should make. having a higher up refusing to treat him like he should be treated caused many times where he was right even in very rare cases that not a single person in the building would thought of.

He got a lot better over time. It was also heavily implied that he was prejudiced against Shaun because of some kind of a past experience with an autistic person. All that he'd say about it is that that person died.
2:03 is that odin?
0:27 no stop he was to cute in this sense
That's the problem with this show 😭😭
1:23 isn't that the surrey city hall in B.C.?
Dr Han gets fired then he wakes up on the plane just before it crashes
Dr. Han made a genuinely good argument at 2:19 but no the autistic boy is the hero so Dr. Han has to get fired.
What is the name of the song at the end? 3:40
I've heard people say that the second season was anti asian because of Daniel Dae Kim's character. I am trying to understand were the accusations are coming from.
He played Jin on "Lost".....such a good actor.
I suppose you could say he... LOST his job😂
Commissioner Gordon: "He is, a Hawaii Five-O."
Whenever I hear han speak all I hear is "bout time your burnt ass woke up?" If you know you know.
I’m offended because he thinks he doesn’t know what he’s doing but he does know it’s just hard to put it in words same as for me.
Well then don’t get so offended when people are legitimately having trouble understanding you.
We are all human & make mistakes....forgive & be blessed ....
In other words Shaun has grown on him just like he did with all the other doctors.
Johnny Gat and Odin sitting in the same room
"you're gonna propose this motion?" ::mews::
😂😂😂
Han demoted Shawn just because his blunt honesty in telling a patient's mother that her antidepressants may have cause the birth defect. The demotion, even if it wasn't really a such, made Han transferred him to pathology. To save patients without interacting with them. To would put all of Shawn's surgical skill into no uses. Shawn had ever right to b out raged when he got fired. He even knew someone who was autistic in his life, but all he says was the person died. I think there's a personal reason he disliked Shawn. So good riddance to him.
Doctors need to be very careful with telling stuff to patients. So yeah, I wouldn't want someone like Shawn interacting with patients.
Yeah I agree. I think Andrews had a similar argument to Han at the start of the show but after seeing what Shaun could do for himself, he became one of Shaun's closest friends and defenders. He also knew not to coddle Shaun and respected him enough to treat Shaun just like anyone else.
any surgeon who spergs out and walks out of a surgery should be fired lol
What I never understood was the parents asked a legit good question, and Shaun answered honestly. What was he suppose to do lie? Then the parents would be mad, and he’d look bad. I think Han was looking for any reason to get rid of Shaun
Didn't Shawn leave an operation room MID SURGERY to do something else due to something bothering him? And also call a patient a TERRORIST for dealing with chemicals (which later revealed it was for perfumes)?
Does the guy at 1:35 play Odin in god of war Ragnarok?
yes.
Richard Schiff is his name. and yes he is the voice of odin in god of war ragnarok.
Man... Johnny Gat has come a long way after the reset
1:04 this goes hard fr
1:30
DUDE! That’s… Odin from GOW ragnarok!
i was looking for a comment on that 😂glad someone noticed
Leaders don't "control" people, they lead them.
In a medical setting it’s a bit different
He's saying if he can't have control over his own staff, then he can't work there. As in if he sees that someone is causing an issue, then he needs to be able to fire them. If a surgeon freaks out during a surgery and walks out then he needs to be able to say you can't continue to do this. This is normal in almost any working environment, but especially in a medical one
No it objectively is not. @@nicholasfactor

THIS ATEEE, I GOT SO MUCH RELIEF AND ENJOYMENT FROM THE FINAL VERDICT 😆
I can see here why COMPASSION IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS!!!
As for the patients sueing, yes that is true, but that would be discrimination wouldnt it? and cause of laws to protect others from that the patient suing is less likely to win. after all like shawn hypothetically the answer would be, "because they are good at what they do"
I appreciate your opinion and thought experiment though :)
He straight up told a Trans patient they weren't Trans multiple times and had never heard of gender dysmorphia. He doesn't need to be around patient.
ah but you forget he eventually learns to understand the feeling and eventually does accept her prefered gender. He just didnt understand it and needed a little time to ask questions to learn... if you legitimately had no understanding of gender disphoria but want to learn about it wouldnt you ask questions from the person experiencing it?@@cintaminbunny
I remember when dude was the over eager black teen in the background. So happy to see him make it
Omg I just farted so hard when he said “he’s not ready to move on.”
Wait, are we not supposed to side with Dr.Gigachad here?
No not at all
I think I will side with him. Dr Incoherent Lunatic shouldn't be within 1,000 ft of an operating room.
You can if you want. Life isn't black or white. I can see his point
What did you expect? Just because he is beautiful, doesn't mean he is asshole.
Don't let his stupid face blind you.
while i do think han is an asshole i gotta say there is a limit on how much accommodation is legally required if you hire someone. hes not firing sean hes putting him in a different dept heck as far as im aware its a lateral move not a demotion so hes not even firing him. seans major issue is that he wanted to be a surgeon and nothing else heck if they promoted him to the board at any point sean would still have the same issue.
han is the equivalent of any new boss coming in and shaking the place up. when people have worked in a certain way for a while they get into routines creating a groove in the sofa so to speak. the issue is people can become complacent in actual procedures because its the way we've always done it. the issue between a good new boss and a bad new boss is how much you are willing to compromise.
han was a hardliner but he came up with a compromise as he did recognise seans talent. sean didnt accept it and they fired han and went looking for someone who fit in the groove better therefore nullifying the reason for hiring him in the first place
