Just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your hotel and restaurant videos of what is in Orlando and the surrounding areas. Thank you for doing tis video.
If I remember correctly, there were rooms where the "kids" had an area where bunk beds. I remember the room I stayed in it was a western look. I remember the room overlooking Funspot. The lobby and game room bring back memories.
Thanks for sharing. Sad to see this property in such bad shape. This property operated as a Holiday Inn for almost 34 years. I am guessing that the exterior corridors did the hotel in, as Holiday Inn took over the former Travelodge across the street in 2007. (That hotel can be seen towards the end of this video). I have stayed at the nearby Comfort Suites Maingate East and would highly recommend it.
Hello everyone! I know I'm getting lots of negative comments about this video, lazy quality of the video, which is completely fine. I just want to touch on the topic, when I say this may be the worst Hotel near WDW, I'm only comparing it to Hotels in the same vicinity. I know MANY of you have seen MUCH MUCH worse. I believe it. I don't want this to be taken out of context. I thank everyone for watching. Even if you hated it ❤
I stayed at this hotel in the 90s when it was a Holiday Inn...It brings back memories, for all the wrong reasons. Had a lot of fun there when we stayed there but it looks very much, the same
I stayed there in 2006, the year after it became Seralago. It wasn’t really that bad at the time. But it seems like nothing has changed since then, which is sad.
@@erinhilliard9347 Forgive me for not being clear. The lobby/restaurant/game room remind me of the stay I had. Back then the movie theater was open and the rooms I recall staying in had an area where bunk beds were themed like a western saloon. Good memories there, but the rooms look very much the same. As someone sentimental it breaks my heart that it has gone into the state it is in, but many features look minimally charged since i stayed there in the late 90s
I stayed at a Florida hotel and when the lights went out we heard something on the paneling, all around us. We turned on the lights and the place was covered in roaches. Big ones small ones. Hundreds of them. I will never stay in a cheap hotel/motel in Florida EVER.
I was frightened when we checked in. It was so disgusting, bed bugs, shady people, and broken down. We couldn't even open our door to get in or out. Blood all over bathroom. It smelled so bad..We checked out it was too grosse. Pools are nice
We stayed there one night and left next day! We shared it with roaches! We picked it because it was right next to old town which we love, but we will NEVER stay there again! We would rather spend a little more money and stay at a hotel in Disney Springs!
That place is the Ritz compared to some places I've stayed in over the course of my over 50 years on this planet. No Sympathy until you tell me you got flashed, your room phone was dead, you decided the bed and carpet were too gross and so you kept driving to colorado from LA with your cat, dragging a U-haul on the back of your aries K car in 1991. Go ahead Tap Tap...waiting
You're not wrong there! That sounds pretty bad. I'm sure by the sound of it, I made a good choice by keeping the comparison to hotels and resorts in this general area. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
I made the mistake of booking this hotel like ten years ago….we wouldn’t even stay the night at that time…. I can’t imagine how bad it is now. It was absolutely horrendous ten years ago. Lol
Doesn't look so bad. Try the New World Hotel in New York, THIS is really bad. In the end, this looks like a room I could stay for a couple of nights when I'm on vacation and just there to sleep. No bugs, no blood, no drug dealers who try to get into your room. What more do you want?
Well everyone has different standards, and I'm sure there are plenty of Hotels across the US that make this place feel like a Luxury Resort. But for this general area, it's pretty bad. I also understand, some people can only afford so much, so you have to do what you have to do and if this is all you can afford then it's something. Many better choices nearby for not much more though.
Place is definitely a dump, but in the northeast it's more than double the rate of a red roof inn and they also hold a 150$ security deposit PER NIGHT for 2-10 days... something almost all hotels used to do. An that's a MOTEL not Hotel.
@@frankmarshall9245 Yeah that's wild. About the Motel/Hotel comparison, you are right, I would classify this more as a motel than a hotel. It probably would have adjusted my reaction to the place too I just went by its name, that's all.
I wish I could have been around to see it then. It looks like it was a great place to stay back in the day. Edit: I was around, but I was like 5 years old.

30ish years ago it was the 'Holiday Inn - Main Gate East'. It was all nice. Great location, like you said....... thanks for posting.
@@djs2356 thanks for the info

The motel or "hotel" looks like a good time
For all the wrong reasons 🤭

I booked this hotel years ago. It was so bad we immediately checked out.
Who stays there? Freddie, Jason, and Mike.
I stayed there a few years ago and it must have been run 10 X better then

No one will believe this: I stayed there in 1974. It was nice. It was one of the few "off-property" hotels. Gosh, I'm old.
This was around in 1974?? Was it a Holiday inn at the time?

I don't even know how this place is still open. 😭
What do you expect for $29
I should have lowered my expectations lol

This is probably the place where many Disney employees and other low pay tourism employees live, because they can’t afford anything better.
It looks like the Bates Motel i would never stay there even if it was for free .
Exactly my thoughts! Not even for free!

bro found the backrooms
That's where they put me. We left we had kids with us. So bad. The final back rooms are the worst. Lots of homeless
Don't forget how many times cops are call their
Silent hill 2 remake vibes lol
I felt like I was experiencing a real life first person video game. But I was unarmed lol
Welcome to Florida
Very true, especially 192. Lol
you get what you pay for, period. go down the street and pay 200/night
It was the Holiday Inn Main Gate East in 1993 and it was good then
