  • I used to tie this with a piece of power pro at the end of the hook and would wrap the chenille on that! What a task! Well, I saw Tim Flaglers method and it blew me away! I took my version and added his tail method to it as well, I will show you a clever way of tying the legs(which are known to annoy even the most seasoned fly tyers) which I learned years ago. It will surely make tying your Pat's Rubber legs easy and dare I say, enjoyable?!?!
In this video: Even without a slotted tungsten bead this jigged version of the Pat's Rubber Legs rides hook side up. Get stuck less often and it works for the Euro Nymphers out there too(I use a mono rig but its close). No matter where you fish, if there are any stoneflies in your waters, this will catch!
    Materials List:
Hook: Ahrex FW550 Mini Jig size 8
Thread :UTC Ultra Thread 140D Black(or brown)
Bead: 3.3 or 3.8mm Tungsten bead(slotted or regular works fine with a bit of work)
    Weight: Lead Wire 0.015
Legs: UTC Uni-flexx in black(this works just like flexi floss/rubber legs)
Body: Medium verugated chenille in black and coffee

I love that you have two angles. That takes a lot of extra effort that most ppl won’t even think about. Great video.

I used to do it with power pro in a loop then wrap the chenille around that. Then!!! I saw this technique and it just blew my mind. Thanks so much watching and always appreciate a comment. Keep er tight!

@@greenhornflyhorn I'm just getting into flying, as in haven't tied a thing yet, but I've got some materials and I think I need to just jump in and tie something no matter how badly it turns out.

@@jarodmorris4408 that’s how I did it. Lots of practice and to be honest, the ugly flies catch flies just as good. But don’t settle for being mediocre, try to be the best you can🙂

+1 on the uniflex for legs, tails & antennae. Easier to tie in than other materials for me.

I have no idea why it’s not as popular as sexy floss or the like. It’s so durable, been bouncing off rocks for a few days with one and it’s still holding up! Thanks for subscribing!
