Onwards and Upwards,
Nick
As long as you can walk away from the race knowing you have it your absolute BEST! Then that’s all you can ask for! 🙌🏻
well said!
Just won my first triathlon super sprint. Watching your running videos helped me to improve my running pace dramatically. Thank you
You and the red headed guys stride is so comfortable. Almost makes me think I can do this. Although I’m the one that just cheered you on the entire race from my toilet.
Mad ain't it, honestly looks like they're jogging at sub 5 pace
That is an almighty kick on the last 200m from Jack
Insane kick!! 🔥🔥
Easy to have a mighty kick when you draft behind the big and might Nick Bester the entire race.
@@saljablo2767racing is racing
@@gbm8432 I’m not saying it’s against the rules. I’m not even saying I’ve never done it. I’m just pointing it out. He had a much easier race then Nick and got that time because of Nick.

Man your mentality is just insane! The way you talk to yourself when running is just pure grit! love it
Nick i love your character..keep it up boet❤
And great running💪🏻
Great video Nick - So Close!!!
Classic line "...Tricking my brain, if I don't win...." - I'''ll need to remember that the next time I'm vying for 34th position at Parkrun 😂😂
If I don't run sub 20 then the world ends 😂
Phenomenal from you, Nick! You beast!!
Can we see more parkruns from you this year?
Yes for sure 🙌🏻 love a good parkrun. My little one has ballet on a Saturday morning, but I’ll try get in one a month.
There's something so relaxing about watching someone give 100%. Fantastic video, mate
You live life one! Let’s do it properly!! Thanks mate 🙌🏻
It’s crazy. I know you are pushing as hard as you can, but you make it look very easy. I run in my neighborhood and when I push as hard as I can for a couple minutes my fastest pace is still above 4:00 min/km.
It was like life or death run. :) Congrats, great time Nick. Come on Nick! 🤜
Gotta convince yourself that to push to your absolute limits!!
Man that was such a measured race, the last 20 metres, red shirt emptied his tank and I feel you kept some back. I would say that it from being ‘race rusty’. Red shirt looked a proper scrapper, you looked amazing all the way through, you were carved up by the eventual winner, he ‘wanted’ it more. Also, the ginger fella, smooth like chocolate and was prepared to do his own thing. You’ll get there Besty, will improve after each race, don’t be afraid to lose that great form in the dying moments to grab that win. Love your channel, looking forward to more of the same! 😊
Thanks mate! Appreciate the kind words!! Learn so much from each race. Onwards and upwards!
He's chokin', how? Everybody's chokin' now. The clock's run out, time's up, over, blaow
Hi Nick! I'm a middle school cross country runner in Texas and I've been started watching your videos for the past few days. Ngl you are a living legend to me. Just seeing you run and doing your best at every race just makes my jaw drop. You truly are an inspiration. Keep up the good work!

This is the new action movie - that was an incredible piece of work at the end by Jack - Kudos to him - you guys put on an absolute belter of a show - thanks for putting this out there!! 😍❤🏃♂🏃🔥🌞🚀⛽🎇💣🔥
Everyone loves an all out effort with a close strong finish.
What a fast 5k Nick in the heat..wow. 🎉
I’ve got no plans to run a sub 15 5k (or even sub 20) but I can’t tell you how much I enjoy these videos mate, thank you! Looking forward to the next one 🎉
Thanks mate, next up is a track race 👀
Let’s see how this plays out 🤞🏻
wow!..what a finish, a great race....
Fantastic race Nick! He just got you in the end, but he got the best out of you. Awesome time 👊
That’s true! Definitely bought the best out of me! Competition is great!!
My palms are sweating just watching!! You gave this race absolutely everything
I love being able to see the live pace, distance and heart rate
Such a nice addition to give you a feel for how I’m working.
Hard work in training makes these moments worth it.
@@justalilbesteryou certainly put in the hard work!! I need to start pushing myself a lot harder but my mind really holds me back - any advice? 🙈
Absolute Beast Mode, hitting 180bpm from halfway round. My brain is coming up with all sorts of excuses to stop after about 2min of 180+
“Bester Mode” 😂❤
ME: having 190 avg hr during a 10k o.o and peaking 198... and still running slow
Same here, i had average HR of 196 when i ran my 5k PR.
@@JustRun96
Wow. What a race and the last few meters were insane. Lekker boet. Well done. You gave it everything
Hey Nick. I just wanted to say thank you and congratulations. You truly have a gift. You're so inspiring and you're right . We should keep striving and progressing even as it gets hard because our opportunity for greatness would never come. Very fast time. Congrats man. Enjoy this moment and remember they are more to come.
Amazing run. That last 100 to 200m was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I myself just did 5km = 17:31 and converted a 10km = 36:53. 1st sub 37min for the 10km Sunday 30-06-2024. Thats where I am at since I started running in 2021, and thats why I am so impressed by the times you run. But yeah amazing run Nick, well done and GO BOKKE 💪💪!!!
nah this footage is too good. This kind of stuff should have 1 mil views at least :D
Never say never! Let’s goooo 🚀🙌🏻 glad you enjoyed it!
That was an amazing effort Nick, you did just about all the hard work up front and came away with a great performance. Phenomenal! 👏
Awesome Nick, thanks for sharing!
Love these videos - so eye opening and raw. Incredible stuff
Amazing run Nick, so close at the end but a fantastic time especially in 27C heat. I love hot weather but my running really suffers when the temperature climbs and that day was suited to drinking beer than running! Best wishes for the next race.
You were right about Jack. He has a kick. He did drop back a little but I think he was conserving energy. I love your positive attitude and love for the sport. You put it all out there. You worked hardest. Jack just had the sprint.
Great stuff Nick!
Love the heart rate and your pace posted on the screen. Makes me feel even more in the race. Good job! 👍
Brilliant video Nick, best of your racing ones, and awesome run too, congrats!
Total time clock! 🥳🥳🥳 Thanks Nick 🙂
What a race! Congratulations!!!
I confess the forth guy did impress me as he kept his pace around 3'00" for solid 2k as a very large guy.
Jack's march looks quite high to me. Guy lifts his knee up so much that makes me feel tired for him.
Loving the race and park run commentarys
Wow Nick what a race! Well done mate. Love stamina and fight right to end❤
What a race!!! Amazing 👏🏼
Congratulations, you are a great inspiration to everyone! You show many that training and dedication can do more and that size or weight is just a number!!! And the Evos are wow incredible!
Right now with 51 years my max heart rate is 186 inused to have 200 when i was 20 years old!
What a sick finish. Definitely inspired me to push harder next time.
Great Work, Nick 👌
What an awesome video. What a race. And thank you Amy
That was a monster kick! Really impressive stuff.
What a race, Nick! Always feel so inspired watching how easy you make it look, as well as talking about it so passionately too. It does wear off quickly though, when I go to try it 🤣
This hurt just watching !!! Amazing speed Nick !!! 🎉
Brilliant race and finish congratulations
Also finding it hard here in Malta to train in summer ....that's why we ease off from running and do more crops training cause 32 degrees ain't no joke here .....I m also working a bit on my diet as I've gained 6 kgs since last March , fromm 66 to 72 kgs and that's not helping my heart rate either , all the best Nick love your content 🎉
I tell my kids that it isn’t about where you finish (in this sport), but how much better you did. Nick, you’ve always been wanting to run sub 3 pace and that is exactly what you accomplished!
What incredible race and wow the finish between you two guys was phenomenal. Edge of the seat stuff. Brilliant time Nick, well done 👏😎👍
Great race! Well ran bro 👍
I think Nick likes running against Dulwich Runners! He often seems to pick the races when it's a big DR turnout like the Parkrun from last place in the spring. Great to see the fight at the sharp end, I've often run in the same races as Jack, but too far back to see the battles.
Well spotted and yes with lots of the races I do in SW London, Dulwich is always one of the bigger clubs there.
That's your best you tube video so far Nicky B💪
Glad you loved this one 🙌🏻 enjoyed running and making it!
Insane running champ! Had to watch it twice! Very warm evening and had to lead all the way!. On a cooler night, im sure you would have been even quicker!! 💙💪🏼🤍
Brilliant effort!
There was no way you were ever going to beat Jack. But I would say that as a fellow Dulwich Runner!
I'd love to know what shoes Jack was wearing ?
Amazing Nick 🤙🏻👊🏻
Saw you post-race in the park but too shy to come to say hi...Keep making these great videos! Really motivational for newbee runners like myself :)
Definitely come say hi next time :) hope you had a good one 🙌🏻
Time is all that counts so he helped you to a pb. Very exciting to watch brilliant ❤ great time btw 🎉
Great race! I’ve noticed that you have a very efficient running style with not much knee lift (probably ideal for marathons) whereas the guy in the red top seemed to have a higher knee lift and was probably able to generate just that bit more power at the end. You were both impressively fast though. Thanks for this video. 👏👏
Sick race 🔥🔥🔥
Incredible race and footage. Much enjoyed! Props on sub 15 👍🏼
Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👍👍🥳👏🥳🥳 Nick Bester awesome running !
the third fourth fifth and 6th place women both over 40 years old and around 17 minutes are truly inspiring
Insane 👏🏻 huge Kudos to this. It also caught my eye.
Love the HUD with stats when you are running
Dam, that was great! Thanks!
wow.
love these videos.
insane performance.
What a race 🙂👍. !!! Congratulations on a fine race 🏃♂️👍
Wow fascinating to watch. Scary fast especially through the evening strollers, joggers and dog walkers. Well done!! 🙂
Great race!
best race footage thank you for uploading these beauties
Quality vid top race keep it up!
Awesome!!!!
Nice race Nick..!!
Nick Awesome you always give everything 💪
I also experienced this kind of moment in a race, and yes I feel so disapointed but I used it as my motivation to workd hard more.
The sorcerer in the cone hat apparently decided not to use magic in this race. :)
Great video and even better racing…
WHAT A RACE LETS GO THAT WAS SICK
White with black stripes, definitely. Great racing. Congratulations :). You've judged it well. 3rd lady aged 45 in 16:58... ok wow.
Insane depth hey! Seriously impressive!!
Awesome!
Not sure what makes me more envious - your running ability or your shoes!
Definitely the running ability lol

Great race. The man in red was a beast. When he turned it up at the end he smoked you. Never seen that happen
Loved it
Second place in time, but first in beauty of running!
Nick, you looked very relaxed and in control the whole way. Perhaps the shoes helped
That was good race
Lekker stuff 👏🏿👏🏿
It probably felt so hard bc you went out fast and everyone drafted off u if you go out fast for the first 100-200 m then settle in then you will end up in 2nd or 3rd and can draft the whole race till u kick and you could win pretty easily and get a pr easier too. That’s what Parker valby did yesterday and she got out kicked
Awesome work as always Nick. A quick question if you don't mind. When training to run a particular pace in a race, say 5min/km for a marathon, is it best to do your speed workouts at that goal pace, or at a fast pace, say 4:40/km, with the idea that if you train at a pace faster than your actual goal pace then it will be easier to run at that goal pace in the race? Or is it best to stick to training at your actual goal pace?
Yes for sure, always good to do your speed work at faster than goal pace. So come race day it feels a lot more comfy.
Howzit man! That was an amazing run you just showed us! Well done, it's truly inspiring. A question that's a bit off topic; what is your view on curved treadmills and do you ever incorporate them into your training? Boomshakalaka!
I tend to do all my running outdoors. I always have and I find I’m able to switch off well that way. A treadmill can be a great training tool. Those curved ones seem to soften the impact 👌🏻
IM A BIG FAN!!
2.20 is getting smacked this year 👊
Dialing that training in soon ☎️
Pretty funny to hear you talk about 180 being your absolute max while I'm here running around 190 to 200 during a 5k for a 21 min time xD
Which type of training did you do to sustain v02max for the whole race? I can just imagine the pain holding 180+bpm for so long.
Incredible
Lots of speed work recently. Faster reps than ever before.
All on my Strava 🙌🏻
thank you amy!!!!
I agree! Thanks Amie, such great filming 🙌🏻
If the ginger lad moved his arms!
On the next race change tactics and let others lead so you save energy for the end 🔥🔥🔥 Great running!
Bester, to be fair - that guy who beat you used your body to draft the whole race and he also carries a lot less muscle mass than you. But let me note that he also had better kick form. He really drove his arms and had exaggerated upper body movement, which really activates the posterior chain and allows for strong powerfull strides.
He for sure had an easier race because of Nick.
What’s the program to show running statistics in video?
What shoos were you using?
