    Possibly each plant only produces one/two fruits each. The individual fruits are placed in a bag (paper/hemp) and cared for individually.
    Other places are producing 10-20 fruits per plant.

      strawberries almost always blossom and get strawberries 3 times per year, and usually they have at least 2-3 flowers per blossom, so I seriously doubt that he gets a yield this low.

      A lot of genetic engineering and time goes into it and strawberries don't always look perfect when they grow. It really takes time and dedication.

    In Spain you can get a organic strawberries,very sweet and juicy,for just 8euros a kilo.Even if I'm Bill Gates I won't pay 300plus quids for a piece of strawberry.

    In 2019, I paid $60 US for a pack of 6 massive white strawberries in Osaka. I thought I was one crazy guy, and honestly, it was really worth it, but I would not pay 350 pounds for one, even if I can afford it.

      it's amazing how disconnected modern humans are from their environment. You do realize how a crop grows doesn't just depend on its genetic content, right? Among other things, it depends on the soil, the humidity, the temperature, timing (when to do any part of the process from growing to picking), any horticultural technique like grafting, preventing diseases, the list is endless.

      I've never had this specific strawberry and probably it's overpriced, but big Japanese strawberries are indeed much better than big strawberries elsewhere. When you just get normal big strawberries, you tend to have watered down strawberry flavoured. The Japanese ones are engineered to be bigger, but at the same time more intense flavour
