Update for the 2024 summer sale: The MiG-23ML has had its flight performance and radar considerably nerfed. It's still usable, but definitely not as good as it was at the time of this video's publishing.
@@gronke4202 One of the better ones, I've been told the multipath nerf helped it signifcantly (AIM-7F now more lethal). Havent found the time to play it this week though. I can recommend it at half price although personally I would go for the F-5C.
@@gronke4202 its very solid for sim being able to carry enough rocket to take out 2 bases as well as 8 total missiles with out sacrifising the ground ordenence so you can do anything you want in the battles
@@isaac000215 i agree that it can be worth it for veteran players due to it being slightly cheaper (approximetly 7,7k-10k GE to grind a techtree) and that you get to play a variety of vehicles, but the downside for newer players are that you get the a speed boost in research but not SL meaning that they will most likely run in to issues of not being able to afford said new vehicles
The Tornado is a great example of an airframe placed into the game too late to be of any real relevance. Additionally, it's missing everything that made it noteworthy.

I’m stuck choosing between the f-5c and kfir canard. While i am in rank 5 US air, israel is quite small and is probably a similar amount of RP to top tier. I have all of sweden air so I’m used to delta wings and not gunfighting (better EEGS when?). However the US tree has so much variety and interesting aircraft that a small tech tree such as israel doesn’t really have. Also nice way to play off the spelling mistakes! Jk lol nice content!
@@j3zzaboii152 Although I cannot help you with your choice, I can say that Israel will receive python 4 and derpy in the near future on some future aircraft and even on existing ones (barak), so in perspective Israel will have better american planes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's just a slightly gucci F-5A freedom fighter. While I want to say a radar was made available later as an option it was never a standard feature at the beginning. The F-5E did introduce a basic radar tho
@@zacharylee6405 you are not getting hit by aim54 unless you are complete idiot, you should be able to dodge all versions of r27 before you drop your bombs or rockets and that's enough for fast grind
This is some dang good content, I really like the clear, color-coded text in this and the other comparison/missile videos. It's probably a good thing that most of these are middling or 'good, with caveats' since they're gonna get spammed out like with every sale. I'm currently nursing a desire to get the Kfir Canard because I like its looks, style, and BR, but its firepower limitations (and the fact that I have zero Israeli vehicles in air or ground) prevent me from pulling the trigger. If I wasn't already so far along in USSR I would definitely want to pick up the 23ML... my experience with the R-24's in the MLA was nothing short of breathtaking.
Me and my friend bought the premium f4 yesterday, it’s freaking awesome, we even made our own squad name, the derpy phantoms (yes we put the derpiest eyes possible on it)
I know im late to the party but MAN did i appreciate the F4S. It trained me on a lot of the nuances of top tier jets and because of its shortcomings (particularly radar) made the other top tiers feel like a breeze.
F5c bombing in sim and then turning into an amazing fighter once u drop ur bombs is such a good way to grind the tech tree, 2 blu fire bombs and a 2klb bomb is the lightest bomb load for one base kill and u can still Mach 1.1 with full fuel and the engine doesn’t overheat so u can full throttle to the base and still have fuel to fight and rtb
Even tho I already had the MiG 21S and a few tier 6 planes researched I still wanted the MiG 23ML just to make the grind a little more bearable. Those R24R's are really good. MTI works well with them even when they are low above the ground and flying away from you, unlike a PD radar.
I like the Tornade for AAB. You can live without guided bombs and the missiles and guns can protect you in most cases. And it's a Tornado so it just looks super cool. But yeah, in a dogfight it behaves like a truck^^
I, an empath, bought the A-6 for 2 reasons 1: F-4S was not in game yet (peaceful times then) 2: it’s a Grumman plane (grumman is the goat) I don’t even have top tier ground, I just love grumman (which is why I used to play the f14 and a6 a lot)
Took me more than a year to convince my self to actually waste the1.2M+ SL for the expert training for the F-5C, and only because it went up in rank. Otherwise I still would not use it much, and would just talisman the F-8E instead. I still think its a bad plane, do to its only good at turning, and can be used as a last resort CAS, but nothing more. The reason its so popular is do to its a low-tech plane and less experienced players only need to set the "fire AAM" + "countermeasure" keys, and can easily transmission from a prop plane to it. Why I even have it? It was in a bundle with the AH-64A + XM-1 once (basically it was a free gift)!
The F4-S is great but since I've gotten it all I got was uptiers to 12.3 versing Su-27's and F-15's which is matches up poorly with. On another note, great video!
No 11.3 jet is going to have fun against 12.3. And I'd hazard saying F-4J/F-4S are on better end of the deal, with their potent radar and 7F. Mig23MLD would be another "best 11.3" contender mostly because it didn't lost RWR for no reason like 23ML/MLA did.
For sure, the worst jet is in the sweden tech tree at 9.7 the J35A. it got no flares 10g AAM with around 1.6 km range a horroble gun, no balistics computer, no bombs, bad rokets, the only pro is the turn rate at that br but with such hard cannons with no tracers it is horrible.
The F1C keeps getting better relative to the other premiums too. The magic buffs really helped it, meanwhile the mig23ml, f104s taf, kfir, f20 have all had some kind of nerf(s) in the past couple months.
My Opinion on the MiG21 Lazur and IDS WTD: The lazur is good in the hands of an good pilot, so not quite made for new players. The WTD is a good grinder, especially when you just started the german tree. but dont expect many kills and try to run when getting attacked and alone.
The Mirage F1CT doesn't have a centerline missile pylon, but the F1C and F1C-200 can carry the R.530 or R.530E on the centerline. They can't use a Super 530F on it.
@@jaek_898 I'll have to recheck the patch notes of the hotfix but I'm pretty sure that Gaijin wrote that the F1C lost the ability. But honestly that wouldn't be the first time that they write one thing into the patch notes but mean something completly different
Kfir C.1 is probably the best 70$ pixel plane, you get the best 10.7 in the game, and you can grind better america super fast, i got an 8 kill game in my second match with it, grinded out all of israel in less than a month and made a fuck load of money, i think it was worth the 70$ but that money technically wasn't mine so, it is what it is.
@jaek_ I know the tornados not the best or everyone’s cup of tea but I’ve been doing pretty good in the new premium tornado. Usually if you fly low and fast with the pack towards the bases on the left and zoom past them, swing wide around the back of the front lines and come in and hit the two bases on the right nobody ever gets and then usually I can get a kill too
Italy mains, do not get the F-104S. I spaded the tech tree version, and you do NOT want this thing to be your grinding machine up to top-tier. Now it's even worse, this flying dart can fight F-16As regularly, and you don't even have the all-aspect missiles of the F-104S ASA. Here's to the future of Italian premiums though. Could easily get a Brazilian AMX at 10.3, maybe an F-104S ASA/M at 11.3, and even an F-16B Block 10 OCU or Block 15 ADF someday.
Now that I realize what gun pod the F-4S has, it's really weird that it's not the SUU-23 with the Vulcan cannon. Why does the Japanese F-4 get that, and not the American F-4S?
The US Navy used the Colt gunpod on their phantoms (well, they didnt in seevice, but F-4B/N/J/S were capable of using it). I'm not sure if the navy used the SUU-23 on anything tbh. The Brits didnt use the Mk4 gunpod, so even though their phantoms are all F-4J based they converted them to use the vulcan gunpod.
Mostly, I think an SL talisman would be a better addition at this point RP talismans can be on any plane, but the ability to breakeven or profit is limited to you having amazing games, which is only possible in a few planes.. it would also increase variety rather than F4S vs MIG23ML every game
Su-11 isn't discounted and being only rank 5, its utility is kinda limited. 23ML will get you to the top, but as its 11.3, you will also interact with top tiers on daily basis. Learning curve... no, learning cliff will await you there, that and putting GE that come with the jet into crew will be mandatory. Gen 3 and 4 jets is where meatbag on board becomes the weakest link and quick to pass out during maneuvers.
@@tothmatyas2177 If you're familiar with radar usage as well top tier gameplay loop, then only "against" I have 23ML is shitty RWR (only 4 antennas and no missile launch warning). Technically Mig-23MLD is better, as it adresses RWR issue, has wing slats for bit more AoA at expense of speed and can mix and match R24R with R24T with the same BR.
As dumb as it is, I got the A6E and on release I would just climb above a furball because of its ability to hold subsonic speeds and lob x4 AIM-9Ls and run for home or have the gunpod and go in for the fight. I’ve honestly had a fun time playing it and I can say my money was well spent.
A6e on release was amazing, I think it my best grinder on average out of all US premium jets Unfortunately couple weeks after it was released map size was increased which effectively killed it in ARB, played it only couple times since then, what a shame
I love how gijjn add some copy paste or some what mid planes like damn dude for 70$ is insane like I would love for gijjn to like add some upgraded planes that never gone to production because in real life the cost was high but in WT that is not issue
J-7D is on sale RN and somehow i have gathered reasonable amount of GJN coin though... some recommend some dont. i doubt whether i should buy or not. edit: i have mig21s from ussr tho and almost reached toptier in the usa
It would be easier to recommend if it was 10.7 and it's usable at 11.0 but I just find it to be really frustrating. Its a good tech tree tho. If youre used to mig21s theyre very similar airframes. Imagine your mig21s with flares and basically improved r13m1s at 11.0, there you go.
personally I’ve spent plenty of time with both the J7E and J7D and I have to say I’ve had MUCH more luck with the D; the magics are generally more useful imo and the GUN DUDE. I am no big fan of the 23 but the 30mm on the E is fucking awful, it has no ammo and doesn’t even kill reliably. D all the way
Like the TRAM, I'd only recommend it for CAS if you already have tanks. You can grief some flareless planes with 9L but anything that has flares will smoke you

@@jaek_898 people have advocated for Germany to turn into a central and eastern Europe end tree which is....bold giving it the Romanian Fulcrum, and what you mentioned with the Hornet. The problem with the Typhoon is it would just be crazy fucking good. Without it the TT is an end tier snooze fest, with it the tree becomes a mulching machine even if you gave it just AMRAAMs and Sidewinders you'd still have an alphabet soup of avionics.

CCIP - Continuously Calculated Impact Point ie reticle on the ground where bomb/rocket will go CCRP - Continuously Calculated Release Point, you designate where you want bombs to go and ballistic computer releases bombs at correct time. This enables bomb tossing as well VERY low level bombing, both difficult/impossible to do with CCIP Jaek made guide for that as well, fancy way of bombing that doesn't necessarily put you into harms way.
guys i have a big question so i have rank 4 unlocked in the ussr tech tree rn if i buy the mig23 will it let me skip the ranks and allow me to start grinding rank 7 jets ? i wasnt able to find an answer for this
No it will not. The MiG-23ML can grind any rank from 1 to 8, and it counts towards the 5 planes you need to unlock rank 8, but you still have to keep progressing through the tree

First of all remember this: if the sale is going on then: 1. These vehicles will get nerfed to give a chance to the next packs of new vehicles. Most probably they will be stuck to the rank 7 and the new rank 9 will be introduced immediately in the next patch. So bye bye happy grinding. 2. They all will be getting up tired all the way fighting most superior jets like F15 SU27 JAS 39 you name it! Come on guys! Don’t be stupid and become meat. Look what happened to A10, F5, GR1 …. The SPS-k is pretty damn good. At 9.7 it gets 2x R13M1s (better than R60s), and a 250rpg GSH. The problem is, you can't even buy it, as it has been removed from the store. So right now, your only real option if you want to grind germny is getting a talisman for the Hunter F58.

F-5c is 10.3 spitfire brutally effective at dispatching enemies if you have good aim and pay attention to launches.
The F5C is nice but man I love the F4S. I EASILY made millions in it and QUICKLY grinded out both f16s, f14b and vark from the F4S

Kfir canard is objectively the best plane to get and you get to skip low rank vehicles for both ground an air

The A6 is amazing for casual Sim matches for grinding
It is slow and a flying shitbrick but its my most used plane in Sim other than the F-4E

The A-6E is absoloutely viable in air rb, given that it faces jets without countermeasures whilst carrying 4 Aim-9Ls.

I'm a fan of the Canard for one specific reason: It can carry 6x 1000 bombs, bomb a base and be back with your team at like 1400km/hour

Didn't they remove the ability to carry the 530 below the fuselage some time ago on the F1C-200?

I bomb a ton with the F5C, it does great with a custom loadout. Just have to learn how to aim with them and you are gucci

The US Navy used the Colt gunpod on their phantoms (well, they didnt in seevice, but F-4B/N/J/S were capable of using it). I'm not sure if the navy used the SUU-23 on anything tbh. The Brits didnt use the Mk4 gunpod, so even though their phantoms are all F-4J based they converted them to use the vulcan gunpod.
due to the new tornados placement at 11.0 i would say its pretty good for boming.

RP talismans can be on any plane, but the ability to breakeven or profit is limited to you having amazing games, which is only possible in a few planes.. it would also increase variety rather than F4S vs MIG23ML every game

Su-11 isn't discounted and being only rank 5, its utility is kinda limited. 23ML will get you to the top, but as its 11.3, you will also interact with top tiers on daily basis. Learning curve... no, learning cliff will await you there, that and putting GE that come with the jet into crew will be mandatory. Gen 3 and 4 jets is where meatbag on board becomes the weakest link and quick to pass out during maneuvers.

@@tothmatyas2177 If you're familiar with radar usage as well top tier gameplay loop, then only "against" I have 23ML is shitty RWR (only 4 antennas and no missile launch warning). Technically Mig-23MLD is better, as it adresses RWR issue, has wing slats for bit more AoA at expense of speed and can mix and match R24R with R24T with the same BR.

As dumb as it is, I got the A6E and on release I would just climb above a furball because of its ability to hold subsonic speeds and lob x4 AIM-9Ls and run for home or have the gunpod and go in for the fight. I’ve honestly had a fun time playing it and I can say my money was well spent.
A6e on release was amazing, I think it my best grinder on average out of all US premium jets
Unfortunately couple weeks after it was released map size was increased which effectively killed it in ARB, played it only couple times since then, what a shame

It would be easier to recommend if it was 10.7 and it's usable at 11.0 but I just find it to be really frustrating. Its a good tech tree tho. If youre used to mig21s theyre very similar airframes. Imagine your mig21s with flares and basically improved r13m1s at 11.0, there you go.

personally I’ve spent plenty of time with both the J7E and J7D and I have to say I’ve had MUCH more luck with the D; the magics are generally more useful imo and the GUN DUDE. I am no big fan of the 23 but the 30mm on the E is fucking awful, it has no ammo and doesn’t even kill reliably. D all the way

Like the TRAM, I'd only recommend it for CAS if you already have tanks. You can grief some flareless planes with 9L but anything that has flares will smoke you

The problem with the Typhoon is it would just be crazy fucking good. Without it the TT is an end tier snooze fest, with it the tree becomes a mulching machine even if you gave it just AMRAAMs and Sidewinders you'd still have an alphabet soup of avionics.

What is the difference between CCIP and CCRP?
CCIP - Continuously Calculated Impact Point ie reticle on the ground where bomb/rocket will go
CCRP - Continuously Calculated Release Point, you designate where you want bombs to go and ballistic computer releases bombs at correct time. This enables bomb tossing as well VERY low level bombing, both difficult/impossible to do with CCIP
Jaek made guide for that as well, fancy way of bombing that doesn't necessarily put you into harms way.
guys i have a big question so i have rank 4 unlocked in the ussr tech tree rn if i buy the mig23 will it let me skip the ranks and allow me to start grinding rank 7 jets ? i wasnt able to find an answer for this
No it will not. The MiG-23ML can grind any rank from 1 to 8, and it counts towards the 5 planes you need to unlock rank 8, but you still have to keep progressing through the tree

german prem jets : mig 21pfm on 9.7 with 2 r60 (meh) , mig 21 bis (meh) , tornado (crap if you are not a bot-bomber from China )
The SPS-k is pretty damn good. At 9.7 it gets 2x R13M1s (better than R60s), and a 250rpg GSH. The problem is, you can't even buy it, as it has been removed from the store. So right now, your only real option if you want to grind germny is getting a talisman for the Hunter F58.

We aren’t weird. 530D stands for Doppler.
530D are better than 530F, but the Mirage F1 doesnt have them. Only the Mirage 2000 and 4000 have 530D.

Dude saying shit... Recently i got the su-39 and for sim battle it is by far one of the most fun planes to fly... You can do pretty much everything, good aam, good to cas, lots of bombs and atgms
