I’ve always been a skeptic of over editing and making “fake” images, but ur point makes a whole lot of sense when u say “we’re not going for the exact representation of the real thing, but image creation” or something along those lines. Makes a whole bunch of sense. Good video all around. I should check out that editing stuff
Love your videos man, I've been using the DJI MAVIC MINI, I must say that it's absolutely perfect for beginners as you're forced to fly carefully without those sensors the higher end ones like DJI Air 2 have. What counts is the content and not the best camera
Your instruction is such a blessing to my lack of photographic knowledge. I often parrot you advice, but it’s time I make an effort in shouting out your channel for reference. Thanks! Again
There’s a lot of good “Mavic mini how to” vids out there but your content and guides are by far my favourite! I’m learning tons from you guys and can’t wait to apply them once the winds let up. Keep your drones shiny side up!
Awesome, this channel is one of my favorites for learning about drone photo/cinematography and editing. Another awesome and useful video. Will try this next time I go out to shoot.
Wow, I am picking my drone up this week, slightly nervous about using and editing but this and others videos are informative and have helped me loads already!! Looking forward to watching the others! Thank You 😊
I am thankful for your channel ! So informative and strips back the many of the misconceptions of the MM . So many TH-cam reviewers keep trying to compare the MM to its bigger brothers .. we have to keep in mind it’s a sub 250g drone that is marketed towards the new beginner drone pilots. Cheers from Waterloo Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Finally getting a Mini as one of my web design clients buying for me in exchange for getting him captures for his brand (moving past my 2017 Phantom)! Luv your vids $ir!
I absolutely love your channel. Just purchased a mavic mini fly more combo and a Osmo Mobile 3, that i havent used yet for both, and all these clear and detailed videos are awesome. Thank you for helping us improving the use of our drones and to extend the field of possibilities. Cheers from France!
Great video, i have a mini 2 and shoot photos only with it. I do aeb to shoot hdr and panorama alot. I have a good stitching program and use photomatrix and photoshop and lightroom which is 13 yrs old from when i shot motorsport. I want new software and was watching your video using luminar, will it blend aeb photos, software has come along way since i was at it. Which luminar software would you suggest as i find photoshop and lightroom very time consuming and my versions are well old. Sorry for the long post
You can do a lot with a Mini. I like it. I don’t need all that crazy technology on a more expensive drone. I would rather do that work myself because it feels good and looks better.
Thanks for this video! I am headed to San Diego tomorrow & I am bringing the Mini. Can’t wait to try this out on the coastlines. The timing was impeccable & the way you describe the process makes it seem doable for a relative newby.
Thanks for the great video - I downloaded Autostitch and tried a pano right away - but pictures which have been clear and sharp used for the pano do not look in the pano sharp at all - everything is a little bit blurred - not sure what I did wrong but result as pano is disappointing
Hi Stewart...another great video. Thank you for the tips. I prefer video but take a few photos too. It's too windy and rainy to fly here in Palm Beach, FL today. Spring Training game Mets vs Cardinals tomorrow so maybe I'll fly my mini on Sunday. In March, I'm taking it to CA. Hope to get great video and photos of the beautiful CA coastline, Catalina Island and sunsets. Fly safe.
I wouldn't advise shooting panos using 'auto settings' as the exposure will most likely be different between images, so the camera may not get the settings correct. You really should be using manual mode and the same settings (ISO/aperture/shutter speed) for each image.
@@DroneFilmGuide When I shoot panos from the ground I rotate my tripod head through the scene and set the exposure for the brightest part. So say this is on the left of the frame, yes by time you get to the right side it will be darker, however if it is incredibly too dark then there is no point in taking the shot in the first place. I assume that the same would apply for drone panos which I have only done a coupl of.
@@NickHansonPhotography I would do two panos, one set for the darkest areas, and the other for the brightest (usually the sky), then create an hdr in photoshop, done.
My Mavic Mini comes in today finally!! 😬 I'm soooo stoked...thanks for the informational vids btw. That's all I've been doing since I ordered it earlier this month! 👍
Got any info on how to get the tiny plannet shots off the mini 2? I have all the single images it took. But csnt workout how best to stitch them all together? I do have Photoshop and tried the Pano feature but that's not working? Someone said you get them from the DJI app when your connected. I can see that and see the finished photo but can't get that off onto my phone?
Craig once again - excellent Video - Now i know why i bought a Mavic Mini - I personally use Affinity Photo and Luminar for Pano's - love the free option though
EXCELLENT video! I tried to purchase Luminar4 but the company has MAJOR problems in billing. I tried to use PayPal or a MC credit card with and without UR discount coupon. I could NOT get it purchased. Their support SUCKs also. All they allow is "canned pretyped" responses. You can not type in any text. So if you are wondering why you are not making any money, now you know! Thanks again for all of your excellent videos. I have a Mavic Mini and taken several panaoramic photo scenes and stitched them together. I use PanoramicStudio 3 Pro. I hope DJI releases the SDK for Mavic Mini and Litchi adds more features.
Thanks so much. I love your channel and so does my son and wife. You are an excellent teacher and one can see you love what you do. I see $169.00 for the Max Edition of Luminar 4. Does that sound about right?
Hi Stewart I really enjoy your videos..but I have couple of questions if you don't mind. First-autostich.I don't know how you did this but I've tried to merge some photos(5-6 photos around 4mb each ) and I've got verry poor quality (around 1mb or less-the final photo) Am I doing something wrong? And second- I couldn't find where to input your discount code for Luminar.I did used you link and I had to pay 59£ for a single computer. Is it there for any chance any other app not too expensive for merging the photos. Not necessarily panoramic, but for example 3 photos taken with different shutter speed let's say dark, mid tones and highlights to get a decent quality photo?
Could you add a link to the correct version of Autostich please? I downloaded a version for Win and it looked nothing like your video and the final image came out with a hugely curved horizon!
Really enjoyed that. Luminar 4 has been a Godsend to me as I was shying away from the complexities of LR and FCP. I even got a picture published in the local paper which I did just a few minor adjustments to bring out the true beauty of the scene. All down to your recommendation and clear tutoring. Thanks buddy.
Nice video!! I usually use this little mavic mini more for "cinematic videos" for my channel (first drone, new hobby :P), but your tutorial is excellent! Pleasure to watch! I've also considered the mavic 2 pro, but after watching your "Mavic 2 Pro long term review", i think i'll keep this one a little longer.
Thank you for all the good tips! I'm actually going to Scotland this saturday and I'll bring my Mini. I was just over to USA with the Mini driving through seven states and it's the perfect travel drone. Small, light and looks quite harmless in airport security. 😉 #Swedish Keep up the good work!
This mavic mini is awesome like you are proving every video but still i am hoping that mavic 3 will come soon since european rules are going to be introduced this year. The mavic 2 is just above 900grams. Above this 900 grams its quite a hassle to fly legally.
Great vid thanks. Luminar 4 does look amazing. I wish they did an iPad app as I rarely use a PC any more. I noticed you never use "er" or "um" when you're talking! Did you train yourself to do that?
After several flights with the Mavic Mini, I can say I feel limited to fly since it's too light to sustain high winds conditions. I was always afraid of losing it and couldnt focus on doing great long cinematic shots with it yet without stressing about it seeing the High Wind Alert all the time. Also, I wish there was more dynamic range with it so I can adjust the settings a bit more in post. That's why I want a bigger more powerful drone now. :)
Weve had a rubbish few weeks for wind sure, but its nearly winter end :) MM is better in the wind than you might think, just dont go too high if it borderline on UAV forcast or the like
In my opinion auto stitch has some strange ghosting/double overlaying with most of my panos. So noticeable, that I would not print it. Any idea if this can be fixed? My panos normally have a 25%-50% of overlap.
Hey legend not really irrelivant to this but when did you change your channel name drone film guide was good name but lols it would be a mouthful to say all the time. I hope you both are well looking forward to more content
My Mini 2 photos seem to have a lot of noise - yours doesn't. Not sure how you do that. I am using ND filters and getting good exposure, but it seems noisy/grainy.
My autostitch looks totally different and gives me a very poor pano, I upload 15 6mb photos and get a pano back which is less than 1mb, no even worth uploading to Facebook

Excellent tutorial! I like the fact that the Parrot Anafi does stitching automatically.
How much does the Parrot weigh? How much does the Parrot cost?

Stuart, thanks for the continued input on ways to utilize the Mavi Mini effectively.
Thanks for all the great tips and reviews, I’ll be picking up a Mavic mini hopefully pretty soon.
Just ordered a mavic mini and downloaded your book 👍🏼
👏👏 subbed, perfect videos. Thanks for all the tips and advice from a new mavic mini owner.
Amazing video, Simple for beginners to understand! this is great
Cool video! Do you know if you can put the auto stitch on ipad 7?

I know what you mean, but what about for a huge pano where you have the camera pointed at the sun in some shots and away from the sun in others?

How large a decent print could you get off that file?
same question here!
Nice tutorial on how to create Pano's without Lightroom or your camera doing it for you. I love your content, one can learn so much.
Much appreciated!

what’s the maximum size for prints from the mavic mini? Cheers
Great video!
Awesome pano!!!! I currently fly the bebop 2 and use Gimp as my editor.
You are a brave man
Literally everything I know about drones and photography is through you guys. How are you not sponsored by Dji is out of my understanding 😂

I just upgraded from a Mavic Mini to a Mavic 2 Pro for this exact reason. Here in the UK it's just way too windy to get the Mini up in the air!
This images where shot in Sctoland wich is very windy. :-)
Weve had a rubbish few weeks for wind sure, but its nearly winter end :) MM is better in the wind than you might think, just dont go too high if it borderline on UAV forcast or the like
Very nice Thanks
Great vid 👍
Dude how did you get that much detail with your mini? My images aren’t even close to this.
Hi , I have issue with my footage of mavic mini is flicker . do you experience like me ?
Can it do 360 panoramic for google maps ?
Lightroom is a subscription service but you use Luminar 4. So is that free to use then?
He said it costs money, but is cheaper than Lightroom. Maybe google it and/or check out their site?
I took mine up glencoe last week, (just before the high winds). It was getting blown about and I was scared it was going to hit the deck!
In my opinion auto stitch has some strange ghosting/double overlaying with most of my panos.
So noticeable, that I would not print it.
Any idea if this can be fixed?
My panos normally have a 25%-50% of overlap.
Also in this video, on the right there is a strip, which is not sharp because of a wrong overlay.
Hey legend not really irrelivant to this but when did you change your channel name drone film guide was good name but lols it would be a mouthful to say all the time.
I hope you both are well looking forward to more content
This thumbnail is gorgeous!
As always, very informative tutorial. And I’m also curious - the pointy mountain, as you call it, appears often in your videos - does it have a name?
Google tells me it's Buachaille Etive Mor. Feel free to advise on pronunciation! :)
@@DroneFilmGuide Thanks - wouldn't even dream of trying to pronounce it. Here in Malta we too have some unpronounceable place names
Pronounced : bookel etive more I believe.
How about we call it "Pointy Mountain" - fairly easy to pronounce
Nice...👍
Wow thank you so much for this video, very informative, and I love the way you explain it, and now all I have to do is get me a Mavic Mini hahaha :-p
Is it true the mini now shoots better than the mavic zoom ?
Hahaha love the point about TH-camrs with hats :)
My Mini 2 photos seem to have a lot of noise - yours doesn't. Not sure how you do that. I am using ND filters and getting good exposure, but it seems noisy/grainy.
Are you on auto exposure? If so, the ND is forcing the camera to shoot the ISO and this is introducing noise.
Why in the world someone would give this a thumbs down I can’t understand.
Good old TH-cam!
I didn't give it a thumbs down, but the accent combined with the "recorded in a steel drum" echo made it hard to understand in spots.
@@RocketRoomVideo thats cause u aint a weegie
thankyou
What kind of license do you recommend? or what license do you use? (I mean of Luminar 4)
They only have one kind of license? It's perpetual.
Sure thing, as far as I'm aware you just buy it and you're good to go...
Drone Film Guide do you have a discount link for it?
theres no mac version available 😭
Awesome
Let me clarify. Its NOT a toy!!
If you are need to crop the the picture later, why not just take a normal single ( wide view ) picture and crop it to your desired panorama ?
Because you might not get everything you want into that single frame...
Scrap that last comment - just had to follow your link rather the upgrading direct from the trial version, 37 euros! What a bargain!
Microsoft ice works better for stitching on a pc
My autostitch looks totally different and gives me a very poor pano, I upload 15 6mb photos and get a pano back which is less than 1mb, no even worth uploading to Facebook
