    Funny at the gas station! Impressive in the heavy rain and it handled the "flooded" roads well. It didn't even seem to move. I know when I go over those if I can't avoid it, I feel like I'm fighting the steering wheel. I'm really anxious to get a Tesla now. Looking at the X . Mom is in Merritt Island,Fl they have Tesla there so in May I'm planning some test driving and model comparisons.

    I love your videos without any interruptions while driving, it looks more real. I'm glad to see you hit 1000 subscribers. I'm watching you from Quebec City area in Canada, lost in a quiet spot near a small town. I have a similar journey to you, as I spent a few years in the military and also retired at 55! It's great to see the FSD in this pouring rain. I also own a M3 AWD LR 2025.
    I don't have all the equipment you have to make videos and frankly, I don't think I'd be as good as what you're doing. However, maybe eventually, I'll make some to demonstrate driving with the FSD in the snow! We have plenty of that out here!
    What happened with your appointment with your dealer on December 27th? Did they completely clean your windshield near the camera housing location?

      Yeah, it's the third time I have gone through that intersection since they put in the temporary turning lane, and it has only taken it one time out of the three. You could be correct that the standing water may have influenced it as well. I saw it do two interesting lane selections yesterday seemingly due to flooding on the right side of the road. something happened with my update to v13. It sees driveways as obstacles now when it did not prior to v13. Everything else about v13 has been so good for me though..
    should i recalibrate cameras?

    • @johnchristopher7697

      I wouldn’t worry about that. V13 is very random with driveways right now. An upcoming release is going to have more “end of drive” attributes.

    Thanks for this video. Here are my questions for this round.
    1. My wife will default to wanting the Tesla to go slower in the rain, regardless of speed. If FSD is going 20, she'll want it to go 10. But, I wanted to see how you felt with FSD handling the standing water. I know in the commentary, you were 100% fine. Did you just trust it, or would you have driven exactly the same? Like, whether or not I would drive the same is an unknown. But, I'm good for trusting the technology. Wondering where you sit on all that.
    2. Old charing question. Do you let the battery fall to 20% before your charge, or do you just charge (almost) daily to 80% for local drives?
    3. FSD seems to be conscious of when you need to make a turn and check cross traffic. Is it because the car is temporarily stopped, and/or does it just understand the eye drift to monitor a turn?
    4. Circling back to the rain, did you find FSD adjusted for the conditions, or was any adjustment more about the lead car when one was present?
    Thanks!
    *Would love to see a heavy fog drive if possible. The fog level in Dallas over the last couple of days have been insane. Again, I'm someone who will trust the technology when I get it. These videos help me prep my wife for what will be almost completely unknown to her.

      DJ - I can ALWAYS count on you for such good questions! You literally feed my TH-cam channel with questions for me to tackle. I ought to give you producer credits 🤣 LOL. Here are my responses at this point:
      1. I felt very confident with how it was handling the standing water and flooding in certain streets. I have seen it progress so much over the past two years and have so many miles with it that I was pretty confident about its handling. Honestly the primary thing I was wondering about was whether it would give me the "red hands" at any point and ask me to take over for a little bit. But it never did. Just to be blunt, v13.2.2 was better in the rain than the majority of the human drivers I saw on the road yesterday.
      2. Great question on charging, and one that I think I answered in one of my previous videos, but sounds like I need to broach again in an upcoming video. There are two ways to charge and where I maintain a charge: at home, and on a road trip. Too long to go into here, I will do on a video.
      3. Yes it is. And it is because it has 8 eyes with 360 degrees of vision and a powerful NVDIA GPU inference chip for memory. Whereas I have two eyes, about 130-180 degress of vision, and a monkey brain 🤣.
      4. FSD most definitely adjusted for the rain. There were plenty of times with no other cars around and it adjusted to the conditions.
      As for heavy fog, I will definitely do a drive in that if we ever get one of those days here in Houston.
      Thanks again for watching my video and commenting! And hopefully subscribing to my channel as well! ❤️

    Do you understand the difference between % offset and mph offset in FSD 13.2? Should I set one to zero and then the other will be used to determine speed above speed limit? Mine lets me set both but not sure which takes priority. Thank you if you clear this up for me.

    • @johnchristopher7697
      @johnchristopher7697  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That's a great question! I only use the % offset and not any absolute miles offset. I went to Grok on X and this is what it stated: "If you're looking to manually set an offset, the traditional "Set Speed Offset" option under the Autopilot settings allows you to specify either a fixed speed offset or a percentage offset, but this is separate from the "Automatic Set Speed Offset" functionality. Therefore, you cannot simultaneously set both a percentage and a miles offset with the automatic setting in version 13.2.2." So appears you have to select one or the other, but to be honest I haven't tried to play with this much. I will check with some others in the community and see if they have been able to use both. Thanks for watching my video and commenting! And thanks for hopefully subscribing as well! ❤️

    • @fedderd
      @fedderd 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      If you’re referring to the second offset, which offers Relative and Absolute options for Speed Limit, that’s specifically for the Speed Limit Warning. It determines the speed above the speed limit (or the absolute speed you choose) at which you’ll receive a warning. This setting has no bearing on controlling your actual speed. I’m not sure why this setting is placed here; it’s certainly confusing. At the very least, the “Relative & Absolute” settings should be indented slightly under “Speed Limit Warning” to make it clearer that they’re related.

    • @clifflattanzio5267
      @clifflattanzio5267 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@johnchristopher7697thank you but I was specifically referring to the FSD tab where you can change both settings. That’s where I have the confusion, strictly within FSD. Autopilot settings are separate from FSD. The reply below yours answers the question. I can’t wait to find out through your trips why FSD parks at some stores automatically and not at others. Another topic/feature for you to try is the “summon” feature. That will be fun to watch as you’ll never know if that’s going to work. I have definitely already followed and subscribed to you. Great videos!

    • @clifflattanzio5267
      @clifflattanzio5267 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@fedderdthanks for the answer. I’ll set the % to 11% to see if it gets to 72mph in a 65 speed limit zone. I’ve never noticed the speed limit warning and what it is (vibrate, tone, screen warning?). I’ll play around with that and maybe just set to zero as I know I’m usually above the speed limit. But speed limit warning could help in a 25mph school zone where you want to know you’re going too fast. Your suggestion to list differently or indent is a good one.

    • @fedderd
      @fedderd 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@clifflattanzio5267 The Speed Limit Warning can be turned Off, in which case the settings below it are greyed out. If it is set to Display, when your speed setting is exceeded you will get a notification on the screen to that effect. If it is set to Chime, when you exceed your set speed you will hear a chime.

      That's awesome! Congratulations on the new Tesla! And don't worry about disengagements at all, they are going to happen. The technology is NOT all the way done yet, and we are still in supervised mode, so don't feel bad if you have interventions. Just remember, in my videos I see human drivers every day, all over the place, that should be "intervened off of the road" 🤣 jk lol. So even with disengagements from time to time, it is still statistically safer than human drivers without this technology. Thanks for watching my video and commenting!
