Thanks s video was literally life changing for me. We love Mexican food but I never make it at home because I don’t like cleaning the stove after frying tortillas. It never occurred to me to warm them in just a tiny bit of oil. I did this today for chicken enchiladas and there is absolutely no splatter to clean up but the tortillas were soft and pliable. From now on I’m making tacos, enchiladas, etc at home. Thank you so much for the tip!

They look like what I call Taquitos. Oh well don't care about name. They look good thanks and thumb up like usual.
Hope you had a nice vacation. Funny we all have favorite food joints we crave when we go back home or other places we visited.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Yeah I call them taquitos too, but when I moved to San Diego I saw signs for rolled tacos everywhere...lol. I am gonna be making flautas soon. Let's see what people call those...😁.

Just found your videos and am loving them. My dad spent most of his youth in southern part of Texas and he always did the cooking when it came to Mexican food. These tacos were our all time favorites...when mom made a big roast for Sunday dinner we knew what dad would be making on Monday...tacos!! Watching how you make them was like how he did but we didn't top them...we scooped refried beans, salsa and guacamole into the end and chowed down! Thanks for the videos and memories!! God bless!

One of the things I miss most about San Diego!
I used to get rolled tacos from this little Roberto's taco shop near the 32nd Street navy base. I ate those at least three times a week.

PRO TIP: Lightly grease the bottom of the pan. Heat tortillas till soft. No need to add more oil. Make a mixture of water and flower into a lite paste. Add you meat to the tortilla and roll 3/4 of the way. Dip 2 fingers in the paste and spread over the remaining part of tortilla and roll. The paste will glue it together. These can be made ahead of time and refrigerated. That's how there done in the taco shops.

I tried taquitos for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I think I'm addicted. My favorite food used to be pizza, now it's taquitos. How did I ever live my life without this little rolls of delicious joy? I REALLY love the shells. I could literally eat just the shells without the filling, so long as no flavor was lost. The texture and flavor is like heaven in my mouth. This all started when I stopped by a little taqueria on my way home from running errands. I was hungry and wanted to try something different. I ordered a carne asada taco. It came with this spicy green sauce. I fell in love with that green sauce. I still don't know what it is. The man running the place doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish and Google doesn't seem to be helping enough. Anyway, I was in a mini heaven with that taco. This made me a little more adventurous and I tried a taquito. More specifically a chicken taquito. I don't know if it was a good idea, now I'm hooked. I've tried all sorts of foods and somehow never really tried much Mexican or South American foods, and so far, I'm loving it.

Aww I just found your channel recently and I’m loving your dishes. And now that I know you are from my hometown SD it makes sense!! You have San Diego taste buds!!! It’s so fun seeing everyone’s responses to the carne asada fries. I grew up with them and never stopped to realize this may not be common across the states 😁

Seeing this recipe makes me miss Arizona and the little Mexican food places there, especially seeing the carne asada fries. The fries and rolled tacos we're my go-to dishes as well.

Girl, I am from Southern California. I'm in Georgia now. I miss home. I have lived in San Diego and Imperial Beach Ca so Chula Vista was right next door. That neck of the woods has a lot of little restaurants that have very good tacos. But those rolled tacos are so good. I craved them with shredded chicken when I was pregnant. Wet burritos too. OMG!! You've got me home sick over here. I texted my husband and told him we should take a trip to San Diego LOL! I wear gloves when I cook sometimes too. My husband thinks that's so weird but I don't mind it at all. : ) I just love your recipes. Your channel is loaded with such tasty and amazing recipes ...all made with love. You have such a beautiful family. I bet you guys had such a great time out there. : )

San Diego WISHES they had food as good as Georgia.....granted Georgia doesnt have a taco stand on every corner....there is a real cultural diversity in food choices in Ga.

Mary Mary the audacity of you to call Georgia cuisine diverse. GEORGIA wishes its food was as diverse & as good as San Diego food as you are the one that came to this video not the other way around

Mary Mary theirs more diversity in Southern California than Georgia

Mary Mary in Georgia you’re either black or white.. the audacity of your backward country ass coming for Cali

    • @MaryMary-iw7wh
      @MaryMary-iw7wh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@OnAComeUpChea ...Not backwards nor country...black or white are colors in a crayon box not a choice of cultural diversity in FOOD...and I didnt "come"for Cali...I said what I said, but because you are so triggered about tacos and burritos friendddd....issa taco same flavor profile as the one down the street
....I digress....argue with your damn self.
