This place holds a special place in my heart. Starting eating here in the late 70s with my Dad. It was his favorite, also my first experience with real spice of that unbelievable quacamole sauce. I will never and I mean never travel to losangeles without stopping in to get the best Taquitos in the world. This is true example of real love of cooking.

De algo puedes estar seguro asi se hace las tortillas, la salsa y los tacos, la unica diferencia que en México se le pone crema, queso y lechugs, pero igual se ven deliciosos

I’m an old white guy that grew up in Salinas, Salad Bowl Of The World, when it was much smaller than it is now. I had the privilege of eating Mexican food from an early age. At the time I didn’t realize how much time and effort went into preparing such delicious dishes. Always loved Taquitos but I must admit, seeing those refried beans being added to the plate really brought back memories of delicious food.

When I go back home I always need to eat there. Placita Olvera is part of my childhood and I loved getting my cucumber with lime, salt and chilito wrapped in plastic wrap, 😋 mmm unpeeling it and taking that first bite was incredible. Please understand that this place started more than 50 years ago by rolling taquitos by hand , but because of huge worldwide success some this has to be somewhat modernized which is understandable due to the small space. Please support this and all Olvera street shops/restaurants it is absolutely a cultural experience.

Back when I lived in Vegas and would take the bus back to Southern California once a month to visit my girlfriend...would always have people complaining about a multi hour layover at the train station...I would ALWAYS send them to this place and Philippe's and tell them those are the two best places you can eat while you are stuck waiting for your train or bus connection! Lots of people traveling up to Oregon etc, but a lot of people from out of country.
I would also always go to either place when waiting for my girlfriend to pick me up...would get in line and get us both food

I was just there with my daughters about 2 weeks ago, that salsa is delicious and the beans were just as good. The only thing that I have a complaint about is, I wish the taqutios were a little bit more fried. This is a must have when you go and visit Olvera St. I have always enjoyed going there , it is a good place to visit.
