    When you review the compact tractors as you plan, also go over PTO and 3-point setups if they have them. Like can you hook up to that (smaller) brush hog? Two row corn planter? Cultivator (because small tires make conventional plow impossible)? How easy to remove the backhoe and put it on? Same with the front bucket and belly mowers. There's a reason the Ferguson 20/30/35 and Ford N-series tractors sold so well back in the day (half a million of each) and do A/B comparisons of Ferguson 35 (live PTO and draft control 3pt)/Ford 600s (when they got live PTO) and the modern tractors people can find. Many people went homesteading and after the initial backhoe trenches/tree stumps they will need farming tools.

    Good morning Brock. When I was growing up in S.W. Pennsylvania the only tractors you saw in the fields were Farmalls. I know because a lot of them belonged to my uncles and grandfather. I think that I have mentioned that my uncle had one that he actually used that had the steel cleats on the wheels instead of rubber tires. But like you said, everything you see on the farms now is John Deere. I really haven't noticed any big Kubota tractors used on the farms. That Farmall sub compact is kinda set up like my 2007 John Deere 2305. Anyway, God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

    I grew up on a Farmall B & C. Started driving the B when I was three years old, lol. Started driving the C about a year later. Everyday after school, I’d ask my dad about going out to the farm to work. We used the B to cut hay, shred, and disc with. The C was used to shred, disc, and plow. My dad had all of the implements for the C to plow and plant with. Those were great memories.

  • @wildbill23c
    @wildbill23c 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I bought a Kubota BX2680 in July of 2021....I use it quite a bit, but its saved so many hours of shoveling and raking by hand...I can mow my lawn with it if I need to as I did get the 60" mid mount mower, but I do have a lawn tractor so I tend to not mow with the Kubota. As of now I have 98 hours on it....does everything I need a little tractor for. Bought it because I only have an acre of land, so anything larger than a sub-compact tractor is just too much for the property size....I needed the use of a loader, and be able to run PTO implements occasionally...so a sub-compact tractor was the choice. Won't get into the ordeal I had with John Deere, but I knew my neighbor over the course of 30 years had 2 Kubota compact tractors, originally he had a B-Series, then stepped up to the L-Series later on as he kept expanding his gardening area....plus he would come by and roto-till everyone's garden in the spring and fall....he never had problems with them, and he never traded the B-Series machine in he kept it and used both machines. So I knew that Kubota would be a great option, and after the issues with John Deere; Kubota was my choice. I
    Around November of 2021 I had driven through a smaller town about 33 miles away and saw they were opening a Massey Ferguson and Case dealership...it was built and opened in March of 2022....so I do have that option now too....however, the BX2680 ain't going anywhere, and it'll probably be the one and only tractor I'll have the rest of my life.
    Case/Farmall would be great to see more videos of when you get a chance....curious as to how the tractor does as far as true lift capacity, loader functionality, etc. Maybe they'll loan you one for publicity purposes HAHA!!! Actually would be great if they did, you do a huge variety of work, so you'd really put equipment through its paces for manufacturers.

    In my area we have a John Deere dealer, a CASE/Kubota dealer because they sell both and a Massey Ferguson/Kioti dealer all within 10 or 12 mile radius. Just outside of town about a mile or two away we have a New Holland dealer. So we have at least one dealer for all popular tractor offerings. As for sub-compacts I have a Massey Ferguson GC1723 E because it was in my budget compared to all other makes. Besides some minor clunky placement of some controls it's been great. According to the manufacture tag on the ROPS it says it's made by Iseki which is nice.
    There are a good few farms around here that still run older CASE tractors from the 80s and 90's. One of the biggest operations in the area that owns most of the fields runs all CASE Quad Tracks as well as CASE combines. Some of the other big farms run John Deer with one of them owning a massive collection of vintage John Deer tractors that he puts on display for people to see every summer. He even has a John Deere snowmobile that he sits on the cab roof of one of the bigger tractors in the collection.
    CASE and John Deere are the most popular here. But depending on which roads you travel you'll find a good mix of old FORD tractors as well as a few Massey Fergusons. They're not farmers but I've gone by some local houses a few times that have old SAME tractors sitting in their yards for keeping fields groomed. :)

    As a former owner of Farmall H and M as well as John Deere 4020, 4430,4630 & 4440, I would recommend test operating several different brands within the same 'class' of tractor. Our transistion from Farmall to John Deere was during John Deere's transition from the 'popin johnnies' to the New Generation models. Compared to equivalent International Farmalls, the New Generation John Deere tractors were Much eaiser to operate!!!

    I worked for a Ford tractor dealer (then Ford/NewHolland) back in the 70’s-80’s. Shibaura in Japan built the Ford compact line up to the almost 40HP range. Best tractors built at the time PERIOD! Nut and bolt, pound for pound better then Kubota and Yanmar/John Deere. I don’t know why the relationship ended (with Shibaura), I was no longer involved in the tractor business. Shibaura is still in business in Japan. Bringing those tractors back (or even using the tooling) would be smart. There is so much that plays into importing from other countries (tariffs, US dollar value, trade regulations etc., etc,) Building here would be smart in the long run.
    What about “McCormick” tractors? Is that brand still around?

I still see many of them running perfectly... and yes why all the electronics for an industrial application these days ( I know the answer)? They sell it as it lowers emissions and saves fuel... but for a truck driver or farmer it's just another thing to break... and really how much fuel/emissions is being saved... it is not worth the breakdowns.

      I've watched Brock's, Peaks Peek and Mallard 5 Farmhouse videos from this show. At 6:00 in the Mallard 5 video CJ showed a close-up of the badge riveted to the ROPS of a little Case, asking "Who made this tractor?". It clearly stated that it was manufactured by LS Mtron. I don't know how much more authoritative you want to get than that.
      All of the little 25 HP sub-compact tractors, name your color, except the Kubota have Yanmar power. At least three of the brands -- Case, New Holland, and LS -- are manufactured by LS Mtron. They may differ in color, and perhaps placement of some controls. But in engineering, materials (even parts) and workmanship they are all LS machines, and I'm confident they are not very different from the LS MT1-25.
      My 25+ y/o green JD 855 has a similar tag on it that says it was built by Yanmar.

      I don’t understand your comment? on my channel is mainly videos about tractors, 70 hp and under
      there is a wide variety of them. Are you saying that they are overpriced? Are you saying that or capable enough? Are you saying that you need something bigger than 70 hp but can’t afford it?

    How much legitimate pollution control does this have versus ridiculous encrypted computer chips designed to be impossible to repair? I would love to see TH-camr Louis Rossman take a look ("Mr. Right to Repair"). BTW, John Deere is a HARD NO because they make things impossible for the individual farmer to repair.

      What I can’t understand is people who are always condescending about someone who has a smaller machine than them.
      There are a lot of guys who have 5 acres and worked hard their whole life and dream of having a machine like this and finally get one just to be made fun of
      You don’t have to put someone else’s equipment down to feel better about your larger machine.
      I’ve got $100,000 skid steer, but that doesn’t mean that the smallest of the compact tractors aren’t a valuable tool
      I did not ask you why you didn’t get it bigger Tractor. I shared a video titled. Why don’t you get a bigger tractor.
      The video is a response to comments like yours and shows the capabilities of these small machines

      @@RockhillfarmYT you are totally off base there if you have five acres and you do any gardening that thing is not going to plow or do a lot of things and like I said it’s a glorified lawn mower and it’s a shame you are so sensitive about other peoples opinions

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No, sir, you should click the link and watch my video. My tractor is only slightly bigger and I brush hogged a 49 acre property and I run a stump grinder and dig out trees and get paid to till other peoples gardens. Acting as if you can’t do a garden with that tractor when I did 20 of them this year, and I did my own pumpkin patch with a plow.
      I am telling you that you have no idea how capable that those machines are and for somebody to go around making fun of someone else’s equipment without any real experience using it is just ridiculous
      You can literally bail Hay with the tractor in this video. I know because I’ve ran those little Balers.
      I also feed my Sawmill with it

      I know it’s fun and convenient to just throw things at the wall and see what sticks but your statement is not true.
      It’s a complicated and nuanced industry. The one I’m showing here is made by LS which is a South Korean company.
      If you want to say all countries in Asia are China then I guess you can but a Japanese engineered and built machine is very different than a Chinese.
