    What a mess lol
I think your on the right track
    New injectors
    Clean up head and valves
Starter definitely needs to spin faster
    Maybe touch up cylinders
I also think it would be a great idea to fill each cylinder with some hood penetrating oil while your waiting on the head
Might loosen any stuck rings if you have any
    🤞🤞

Maybe a compression check before putting injectors back in. Engine or motor, Clint which is it, looks like the same as in the 4000/5000 Ford tractor. I had a 4000 that always turned over slow, in my opinion. I know we will hear it run soon. Have a good one brother.

If it were me, I think I would have at least pulled the pistons out since those rings are probably gunked up and possibly broken too. You can’t go wrong with just taking the block to your machine shop and have them pull and replace liners and pistons. All the water in there tells me that the block needs to be checked for cracks anyway. No point in putting a rebuilt head on a cracked block. Looking forward to seeing more videos of this project. 👍

Hi Mike. Brought back some memories this project of yours. Seeing that the macine was standing for many years and the state of the ex manifold I feel that with luck the water got in through those valves and caused the nasty stuff you had to wire brush away, any water that passed the valves that were open would or could cause the rings to stick and when the engine is turned any water above those valves that are closed open and in goes the water, that seeps past the rings and into the sump and a good old 60/40 oil water mix. With luck on your side a little clean and plenty of lube in the cylinders and the bottom half could be ok. The head you are sorting and good call on the starter and injectors. Please make sure you tighten the head back in the correct stated way as well as look up the rocker valve clearenc sequance as they need to be TDC on each cylinder etc. But I totally agree with only asking those you personally know about this 555 and Clint is just a phone call away, and he is feeling guilty of dropping this on you. lol. Abetter valve compresser is needed to make it easyer for you and valve lapping that is one job I hated with passion, Day dream time on that task. Wish I lived closer as I would be there helping. Hats offf to you though as many would have given up by now, but you are like a sponge soaking up all that there is to learn. Stay safe regards to your family and never be afraid to ask.
As it can save you time and money as well as energy. Cool project.

At that time I got a kit for $730 and crank turned for $100. I would say that it would cost way more today! As for the injectors I had them along with the fuel pump tested and only 2 injectors were weak and the guy sold me 2 rebuilts for $30 . Now I don't know where to get that done; but good luck to you!

The nice thing about the Triple Nickel is it's pretty easy to work on.
Those cylinders don't look too bad (at least on camera), but the amount of debris in the exhaust chambers suggests quite a bit of blow-by, most likely due to the amount of hours on the machine.
Perhaps an in-frame freshen up with rings, rod and main bearings, and seal kit might be a practical way to go?
You definitely have the right support group for the project.
By the way, your daughter telling you, you have a new name on the radio, fantastic!😂🤣😂🤣👌

You talked about possibly re-sleeving Mike. What you might want to check is the sleeve positions (they are supposed to stand slightly proud for good compression & anti-freeze leaking in the cylinders). I speak from experience on this one having had to replace the sleeve O rings on my Renault engine because they did not stand proud. Love watching all your adventures Mike.

I think you are on the right track, the starter is cranking way to slow and rebuilds usually are better quality than parts store ones. I would suggest having the machine shop check the valve seats and guides for you. Its already there and they do that stuff all the time and if it doesn't need it, you aren't spending money to do it yourself later. I couldn't see the cylinder walls good enough to give you any advice either way.
With the head off how easy is it to turn the crank? You can just use a socket and breaker bar on one of the harmonic balancer bolts in the front of the crank to turn it over. If it is stiff, something in the transmission might be hanging up, keeping it from turning over quicker so it will start. As that will be the next step in the process of getting it back up and running again.

    Hi Mike
I think you are doing the right things to get it started. The only thing extra I would do is, while it's sat there with the head off pour either ATF or 2 stroke oil a on the pistons . Bring the pistons all level. And then fill the bore with the oil. That will help to clean all the crud around the rings . Overtime it will seep down into your sump . It will cause no harm to your engine . And you will have to change your oil again anyway
Good luck I am sure you will get it going . Make sure you drain the water also . You don't want your block freezing up

Good video tearing down, the machine shop will be a great help. I know you can get this going, I wonder how many hydraulic issues it will have with the amount of water in the crank case, I will stay tuned for the updates!!

Loving your content of figuring the mechanical stuff out. Would put in my 2$ but your doing great bub. Don't wanna sound like guy around 35min LOL. Appreciate alot of your home building content as I always wanna learn more but mechanical it's nice for a change of pace and you have enough good guys to call "dp c&c" I can laugh as you learn. Keep it up cap!

The are 3 or else 4 little core plugs along the top middle off the head make sure the machine shop replaces them as the rust from the inside out and allow water/antifreeze into your engine. Also on the back of the injector pump the is a 15/16 or 24mm nut with a fuel supply pipe into the middle of it. There is alittle filter/gauze in there that will DIFFENTLY need cleaned aswell. Just trying to help you out the best I can.
