Here in Wisconsin you are allowed to use three hooks at the most. So you have to clip hooks off the lure your using and then you can put tails on them. Had a warden stop me once and I showed him I was only using three hooks.

Man I’m late but I love A-Rig videos. Here in Wa the limit you to three hooks on a single line so you technically can troll two setups but some wardens are more strict about it than others from my experience. Haven’t gotten lucky enough to catch anything yet
Same in the beautiful state of Indiana, 3 hooks. I almost got caught but I set my bait in the water so the cop didn’t see the other2 hooks.

I live in Minnesota, so the A-rig in its typical configuration is illegal to use. To make it legal, I would have to remove the hooks from every bait except for one. In my mind that would be really frustrating to use as I think there would be a huge number of missed strikes where the fish goes after one of the hookless baits -- so i have never tried it
