Great video and a great day. Finished in 1:36:56 and a Kingfisher Harriers VM60 record by 22 minutes. Just my 2nd HM, last one GNR 1997 😮 Took up running again in Aug 2022 aged 58! 😅 So you are never too old 🏃
Great video and running! Congrats on the PB Ryan even if it wasn’t quite what you wanted, and looks like a great training run from you Haley - not far off your PB and a great fitness builder! 👏🏼👏🏼
No problems it was great to see you there even though it was a bit too busy to actually talk to anyone properly 😅😂 thank you so much for watching and hopefully we will both see you sometime soon ☺️🙌
My first HM at Warwick on Sunday. Totally agree that the start was a slow bottleneck. Wanted to run with the 1:40 pacer but they were too far ahead of me and I couldn’t catch them! Still managed 1:39:42. So chuffed and it’s a scenic run in the country.
Thank you for watching, it’s great that you still managed to dip under 1:40 even though you saw them get away. It’s not the flattest of courses 😅😂 my first half was 1:52, you should definitely look into doing Coventry half if you want to dip under 1:35 on your next one (that is if you enjoy it enough to enter another) ☺️☺️🙌
Great video and great running! I was the 2:30 pacer - was so envious of Haley's goody haul as there were only overnight oats left when I finished 😒 Haley was very close to her PB considering that she wasn't racing - marathon training is paying off !
Thank you Susan, we hope you enjoyed pacing! The pace flags look so heavy 😅 Shame they didn’t have enough of everything at the finish ☹️I am excited to try the overnight oats though 😂 Yeah I was pleased, my legs were definitely getting tired but it still felt relatively relaxed so giving me some hope for my goal time 🤯
Thank you so much for watching, that’s a great first time for a half marathon ☺️🙌 if you decide to do another one you should definitely look at Coventry, have you done many other races previously?
@@willtaylor1723you really are trying to be cruel to yourself there 😂😂 good luck with all of the training for that 🙌 it will definitely be worth it (extra tip the days after just walk down the stairs backwards, you’ll thank us later 😂)
Great running both of you, well done! Another rapid time there too Ryan, definitely shouldn't be disappointed mate, another PB in the bag! That's a solid course and that looked a lonely run for you out there - cracking effort mate. Great video guys! (I also got the old medal, much preferred Haley's one 😢)
Great to meet you both and well done a some brilliant running. We missed you too Haley, from the impromptu meet up at the finish. I’ve not seen The Thompson’s Got a Go-Pro channel before, I will take a look. Great bit of editing, as mentioned by Tim. It’s fun we were all there but creating our own version of the day. I can now get the footage off the insta now I’ve freed up some space from the Babbs Mill video. Editing on my phone has its downsides 😁 Hope to meet up with you again soon, which I’m sure we will 😊
Thank you so much for supporting the channel and watching our video, it was great meeting up with you in person, I’m sure we will definitely bump into each other again, I can’t wait for everyone else’s videos on the day to relive it 😊🎉 you ran well too, luckily I’ve never had to edit on my phone yet 😅😅
We are so glad you enjoyed the video and most of all, well done on your PB that’s a great time to achieve ☺️🙌 it is a fast course considering the inclines 😂
Nice work to both of you. Those are some fantastic times. It looks like a very competitive race and you weren't kidding when you said it was an undulating course. Nice to see Rachel D in your video... I watch her channel faithfully. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for watching 🙌☺️ yes it was great to see so many other TH-camrs there, it was definitely a competitive field with around 2000 runners and the winner being 1:06 😅😅 we really appreciate your support
Thank you so much for watching, we are both sure you’ll do great for your first half marathon ☺️🙌 how’s the training been going so far? Sounds like a really nice half to do, will you be filming it at all?
@@raleyadventures I have been in Italy skiing, got back a week ago and have already clocked up 46 klm in training. Feeling fit and as long as I don't get injured I should go ok. Aiming for a 1.45 time.
Ooh that looked nice! I have friends in Warwickshire so I could time a visit to coincide with this next year. I’ve run the Stratford upon Avon half but this could be one to add to my calendar. Great running both 🎉 Congrats on a PB Ryan 🎉
Thank you so much for watching it means a lot to us ☺️🙌 I have also run Stratford half marathon and would say they are fairly similar in elevation profile, with the only differences being Warwick has a lovely downhill for the last 2km or so and there’s definitely more supporters on route, we hope you like it just as much as us if you ever decide to do it
that was a good event for you both ! i now have trainer envy,i think i could go faster if i had some of those😁. next stop xc, i will look forward to watching that too. both medal looked nice.
Thank you so much for watching, haha yeah it’s always brighter the faster right? 😂 cross country will be in the eyes of Haley so will be great to see the difference 🌟
Congrats to both of you on your PB's. Agreed, a PB is a PB. Haley improved 8 minutes and said she could've gone another 10K!!! Ryan, I was rooting for you being in that group with 3K to go, well done on the finish!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting ☺️ it’s always tough for me from the 10mile mark, I just have to find another gear next time 😅 we are so glad you liked it 🙏
Haha yeah it was great seeing so many cameras I must say 😂 thank you so much, sorry for being one of the only ones not to go in for the running high 5’s 😂😂
Oh wow starting off with the big one 😅😅 thank you so much for watching the video, Ryan will be there 🎉 you’ll see how insane it can be with over Warwick half’s entire race and more in the men’s xc race alone 😂😂
Great video you two, 1:18 and 1:57 was it? Well done both😀I don’t think I’d like that much elevation although I think winter is the best time to do a half or marathon (having only done a few 10Ks😂). I think Manchester 1/2 was about £45 with a tee shirt, I’m rolled over for Oct-24 as you know😊
I guess when you put it that way £45 isn’t too bad as that’s normally around £10 extra, thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment ☺️🙌 it really means a lot
It does vary but I would say around 6/8 hours maybe 😅 think we did good with this one considering it was only on Sunday morning 😂 we still have to edit the centre parcs video and my marathon plan still 😅😂 those are taking a while to do
Well done, mate. It's always hard to run solo and smash out the time that you want. You still got a pb, so it's all good. I'm sure in another race with a pack, you will smash it. What is your half marathon goal? Great video as always
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch it, it was definitely a quick field but nothing compared to races such as the race you recently did in Valencia, regarding the marathon will be aiming for 2:50 so the half split will be 1:25. It does mean I should be able to do it but considering I’ve only done two before it might take some time but I see no reason why not
@raleyadventures cool. I'm sure if you train well you can do it. I would say try to enter a 20-mile race if you can. As you can see how your body reacts and the extra distance, compared to racing a half marathon. And always remember the wall hits at 20 or 22 miles, and then it's about the mental battle of getting to the line. That's okay. I enjoy your videos and love seeing race action. Keep it up
That’s very very true 😂 it was nice in the event village but for the vast majority of it felt very lonesome, I reckon if I was with the other runners it would of made it feel a lot nicer overall, I run round most of these roads anyway so not sure if we will run it again, thank you for watching 😊
@@raleyadventures it's like the Lichfield half that's as bad as I did a PB on that course running solo for about 10 miles also. It was crazy. If I would have been in a group I know I could have done a few mins faster. To this day I haven't run within 5 mins of my fastest so it was a little bit of a put of the body one I think. My olympic final 🤔
