    Hilarious! But, now I cannot stop imagining the “drive mode” selector as the child-proof top of a prescription medicine bottle, complete with the “Depress Sides as You Turn” etching.

    Don't forget that base 5 series and E Class cars also come with 4 cylinder engines,

    My daughter got her drivers license and is just itching to learn to drive stick shift. Now I have all the good reasons to watch you guys be informational and very funny! I’m coming to Utah for driving adventures after the daughters move out. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to the question addition of the podcast! 🐈‍⬛🎃🎉🍂

    Something about 4 cylinders just feels off in a nice car. It doesn't matter the torque or power specs. I wish they'd bring back 5 cylinders in this new turbo era. A 5 cyl turbo will give you V8 cruiser vibes if done correctly

  • @gasstation405
    @gasstation405 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The 4-cylinder doesn't have adaptive suspension or camera to go with it. That's only available on the 6 cylinder. The G80 you tested only has non-adaptive steel springs.

      I agree. They didn't do a thorough research on the G80 at all. I'm disappointed in them.

    4 cylinder is all you are going to get in this price point out of Mercedes’ and bmw anyway and those usually run 30-50 hp less than the genesis (for about 10k more). If you want a v6 in the same class bmw and Benz you will pay 20k more than a genesis v6. The genesis is about luxury at a more effective price where you dont want to waste money on a das auto branding badge.

    Great review (s) as usual. Perhaps you guys might have liked the V6 AWD better though.... From what I hear the drive modes are more differentiated from one another.

    My brother and his wife just bought the top of the line GV80. Very impressive. It was 75k and that is a lot. But, it looks like it would be way over 100k. The interior is so impressive.

    I am waiting for Genesis to arrive in Europe. It's hard to justify in my opinion the $20-30k difference in price for a comfortable daily driver in dynamics when you could have an used boxster or cayman for that price, thus the right tool for the job. Well done!

    E class also offers 4 cylinder. But I’ll take the 6!

    The big pharm/sponsorship notion at the early stages of the video reminded me of prompts that could express increased levels of frustration on the part of the GPS. For example, "recalculating," "ah-hem, recalculating," "excuse me, I'm recalculating," "you don't listen to me," "you don't care," "my mother was right about you!"

    Funny, when I drove the G70, I thought "this is a road trip car". It'll dance, it's fun to throw around, but the instant you aren't throwing it around it forgets it handles and it's dull & comfortable

    Dulcolax mode would be great for wanting to go fast, Imodium mode when you need to slow things down, and Beano mode for hyper-miling (reduced gas).

    In the league it aspires to compete in, a twin turbo 6 or NA V8 needs to be an option . That steering wheel looks very mid 90s Chrysler. They needed to look at their sister KIA
    for a better steering wheel design.

    I bet of automakers included a microphone that transmitted every single conversation you had in your car to Amazon, Amazon would subsidize the price of the car

    It’s the same both the S80 Volvo. Them small engines is not associated with big luxury cars. They suck.

  • @sammyg4806
    @sammyg4806 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This car is really nice interior wise. Really luxurious, but that engine… that’s a killer. It looks the ‘high class’ part, but it doesn’t run like it. Then again, they make a good point in the price department, a better engine would drive the price up 6,000-10,000. So, luxury wise, it is a bargain.
