I tear up almost every time I hear Avi in this song, omg. I can't with him. Every single note of his in this song is the definition of gorgeous. This song is part of my nightly sleep playlist, too. I don't even care if it's a Chrstmas song, it's too perfect not to fall asleep to it.
I love the way Avi's bass line doesn't go where expected to make a slight but significant change in the overall sound without losing the melody. When he takes over in his, sweet, mellow upper range it just kills...thanks, Tara, and Merry Christmas!

They have another version, done after Matt joined the group, that they perform with The King's Singers,that you've got to hear to believe; that version evolves from a carol to what the shepards heard when the Star appeared over the manger.

I love how you 'feel' the song while listening. And it's not easy to put a twist on a classic and make it better but they did! Yes. The angels were singing...all 5 of them! Thank you for the reaction and Merry Christmas!
Their ability to emphasize such crunchy harmonies while making them so incredibly pleasing to the ear is such a talent. The dissonance helps make the "proper" harmonies sound even clearer because they act as a launch pad into more tonal harmonics which most people are used to; therefore, they give their own arrangement an interesting ebb and flow between typical tonality and more atypical tonality while avoiding sounding stagnant. They're brilliant as always. You absolutely need to listen to the "Disney Princess Medley" done with Laura Osnes and Bonnie Milligan. It's insanely fantastic.
