Great reaction and thanks for posting. Kevin is a classically trained cellist and saxophonist and has been playing piano since he was 4. He is an absolute genius!

This song is in my sleep playlist, along with Light In the Hallway and a few Avi songs. I've had this song on repeat for almost two years, I'm so conditioned to it being a bedtime song that I instantly relaxed while watching the video... It's such an amazing cover, and Avi's voice makes it sp serene. I know it's supposed to be a Christmas song, intended for the birth of Christ, but it honestly feels like Avi's singing to me, giving me the ability to "sleep in heavenly peace"...

So love this version by PTX. I do love Avi’s part in the song, but in my humble opinion Mitch really owns the song because I feel like it’s really meant for high voices and Mitch hits every note perfectly.
Avi gave Kevin his first singing lessons when they were roommates. Kevin had no idea he could sing
I always put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving after dinner and let the kids, now grandchildren, decorate it. Ever since I found Pentatonix, Christmas music is never out of season.

We celebrate Advent before Christmas. Christmas decorations go up about 2 weeks before Christmas and stay up through the Magi arriving on the tenth day of Christmas season.

I'm a bit later than you on the decorations. I like to give the pumpkin and the turkey their due, so I put my Christmas up on Thanksgiving weekend. But i leave them up until Epiphany! Yes, December 25th (as in, none the next day)... And personally, I prefer only hearing Christmas a day or three before the 25th. Otherwise, it's annoying af. Pentatonix has been my one and only exception to this rule; I have listened to their Christmas year round. But everyone else? No thanks.

only one complaint. We all love Avi. However, when speaking of him, there is no need to bring up Matt's name. Just show your love for one.
If you don't bring up Matt, his fans will assume you hate him. People just want to cover all the basses 😉 But seriously though, I think it's important to acknowledge both guys. Especially since Avi approved of Matt in the first place!

@@alankadair It doesn't really hurt either one to acknowledge their talents though. It's not required to mention every time one is brought up but I'd rather err on the side of caution and let people know how you feel about the other person because you never know if someone new might come along. If someone has never heard your opinion about the other, they will assume things. Mentioning both doesn't negate one or both musicians in any way. It's literally just praising two people; no harm, no foul.
I mean, if I made my own react channel, reacted to Pentatonix videos and only ever talked about one member and ignored the others, viewers would get mad. It's kinda the same here. Do you get mad when people mention Avi during songs with Matt in them, too?
Yes, Avi has moved on, he needed to in order to fulfill his mental health. But he was part of the group reached success, PTX wouldn't exist without him (or Kevin). We cannot forget his legacy even though he's gone solo. Likewise, Matt is the reason why the group continues to be successful after Avi's departure. They are both vital in their own way. It doesn't matter who leaves and who stays, it's all part of shaping history and therefore shouldn't be neglected. It's perfectly acceptable to mention both.
