The best thing about the RS3 Mini is its size without comprormising power. and performance The 2kg payload is a LOT and being able to carry that kind of load and still provide stable AF footage. Pretty impressive.
Great video and content looks fantastic. One feature you missed for the RS3 that is a Lumix exclusive… active track. If you connect the USB-C cable you can use the LUMIX AF with subject detection to keep your subject centered.
Great video. I'm looking at a gimbal for my S5II and either the kit lens or my 14-28. I thought I needed to get a RS3 for that set up but it looks like the mini will do just fine. One question though. Is there enough clearance on the tilt access to go from a low shot to a high shot (basically the jib arm shot) or will the camera hit the arms (if that makes sense)?? I had this issue with the Crane M3s and had to sell it.
I approove this video 100%. Same opinion on gimbals in general.. overused shots that aren’t serving the story.. cinematic but not much caracter.. and the weight is also the major turn off for me as well! Now that I own the S5II X with excellent reliable AF and Lumix S lenses.. it changes everything. So i’m now looking to get a very small and lightweight gimbal that will hold the camera with Smallrig Black Mamba cage (no top handle), Lumix S lenses and my Freewell K2 VND system, and a Sennheiser MKE440 on top. I think this is the one! AND the price is RIGHT! 🎉
I just got the RS3 and I’m LOVING IT. The auto lock, the screen, the app features it’s amazing. I think the RS3 is the perfect medium the Pro is overkill for almost everyone
God damn this looks pro! Such a beautiful image out of such an efficient setup. And no monitor! Did you use autofocus?! Just looking at the desqueezed image on the back of camera??
Great video Anthony 👏 What ND filter are you using for this? I’ve had a really hard time finding one that doesn’t give my footage a nasty color cast. Thanks!
I haven’t. I don’t see their being an issue. You’d just be adding a monitor to the side. If you’re asking if you can put it on top, that’s not possible, no
I wonder if the size also affects resiliency. Does it fall short in terms of accessories? NATO ports? Is it compatible with other accessories available in the DJI Ronin ecosystem?
@@EmmanuelLumapas i hate the plate which makes the gimbal much harder to transport unless you remove the plate, the size and weight, the fact that you always need a cable if you want to press record or use the wheel whereas it's just bluetooth with rs3 mini, and also the way that you tighten the arms is so annoying compared to RS3 mini where the system is much better in my opinion with some kind of lever that you either push or pull instead of screwing some screws. also the arm axis were hard to slide on rsc2, apart from that the results in the image are going to be the same or maybe slightly better on rsc2 so if you had a good price for it you shouldn't have regrets
Hey, Anthony! The S5ii not compatible with the Rs3 Mini's Bluetooth, right? My question is: with the camera connected to the gimbal via cable, can I use the app's functions on the smartphone, such as moving the gimbal and recording normally?
How did u balance it with the 24-70? I have a Canon R6MKII and the RF 24-70 and found difficulty balancing in it. I purchased the RF 50mm and that works.
so wait...can you track on the mini? like it follows you as you move left and right? and for the Bluetooth.. how the pro or rs3 doesn't have Bluetooth but the mini does?
So you can do tracking as far as I know! Someone did mention that the Lumix cameras can! Also, it’s the rs2 pro that doesn’t have Bluetooth. The rs3 and rs3 pro does!
The rs3 mini is pointless for any newer full frame hybrid cameras, I mean yes you can technically balance it BUT the motors looks like they are at their max majority of the time And the price between rs3 and mIni is soo close why bother?
Is the rs3 mini capable of carrying the S5ii with the cage? I wanted to switch from gimbal to handheld cage between shots :P
I’ve done so!
Bro I love how this came out! You’re doing a great job adding value to the community! Keep it up
Thanks bro 🥹

That’s what I’m saying!
People want to compare it to the rs3 and what not, which is understandable, but it’s a completely different tool altogether
Great video and content looks fantastic.

No way!!!
I have to check that out!
Would LOVE an in-depth look at the S5ii's anamorphic modes/capabilities/lens options! Anxiously awaiting the S5iix. Great work!
I’ll be making an anamorphic video soon!

I’m not sure if I can answer as I’ve never tried… but I’m sure it can as long as you don’t have a mic on it
This is Samson videography /JoseLvirella, bro thanks for the info on the Lut's completely took my footage to a new level
No problem man! Thanks for the continued support 💪🏼
REALLY excited about the anamorphic adapter video
Same bro… same
Thank you! I’m still waiting for something better to arrive on the market. Gimbals are pain in the butt to set up every time
What would make gimbals better?

Was considering the rs3!
The size of mini is what got me though

The non anamorphic footage was shot only with AF and yeah the anamorphic footage was shot with just the floppy screen
Thanks for the feedback 💪🏼🫡
Love your content bro!! Great stuff 🎉
Thanks bro! 💪🏼
That was sick bro so smooth I might have too pick one up now lol ,u think it will hold the R6 and a 28 to 70 🫢
That might be a bit too much for this gimbal.
The 28-70 isn’t a super front heavy lens surprisingly, so it might 🤷🏽♂️
You just got a new sub
Thanks you so much for the video, amazing clarification 🙏🏿
Appreciate that man!
Great video Anthony 👏 What ND filter are you using for this? I’ve had a really hard time finding one that doesn’t give my footage a nasty color cast. Thanks!
So I’m using the Freewell VND and have had pretty good results. There’s a slight color cast but better than most VNDS I’ve used!
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Thanks Anthony, much appreciated.
@@thedavidsurowiecki Ofcourse np!
hello would you recommend the dji rs3 mini for a Sony a7 iii with a 24-105 lens?
I would say so, yes.
So the combination wouldn’t be to heavy for the gimbal?
@@nulu5000 it would completely fine!
Well done bro! 👏🏽🔥
Thanks brother!
Hey Anthony; have you ever tested out an Atmos Ninja with the S5ii and the RS3 Mini? If so, what are your thoughts?
I haven’t.
I don’t see their being an issue. You’d just be adding a monitor to the side.
If you’re asking if you can put it on top, that’s not possible, no
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Thank you sir!

I actually tried putting accessories on this guy and I didn’t like the feel of it.
I prefer it stripped down
I have the RS3 Mini, it's so much better than my previous DJI RSC2, it solved all the things that made me hate my RSC2
🙌🏼 surprisingly right?!
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this thing that much
I just got the rsc2 combo over the mini. What were your struggles with the rsc2?

Sorry brother! Wish I could’ve been more helpful with this one

Hmm I’m not sure what would he different in my case
Solid video my bro
Thanks dude! I appreciate the support 💪🏼
Hi - do you use AF on your gimbal - or do you pre focus your AF distance.
And you day it doesn't have locks - it does have motor locks doesn't it.
I use AF!
On my rs2 pro I use MF and a focus motor if I’m using cine lenses
Hi Anthony! May I ask...what aperture did you shot the aiva at here?
I’m pretty sure I was shooting at f2
I’d be curious to see you thoughts on my LUTs compared to the Phantoms
Bro… the phantoms are incredible
What is the "real succesor" of the RS3 Mini, is it the RS3? Ronin SC? RSC2? What do you think?
After the rs3 mini it’s the rs3
Your video helped 💖
I’m glad!! 💪🏼💪🏼
Good shit. Where are you pulling your music from?
Audiio!
Is was considering Audiio. I like the pay once for a lifetime model. Is there a good selection on there?
@@chadsiford2910 there is…. Not a vast selection though.
Enough to get you through a couple of years though

PLEASE tell me that it's possible to assign AF Lock from S5IIX to the gimbal button, instead of starting recording/trigger AF
Tbh I have no idea… sorry brother!

will this rs2 board fit DJI RS3 Mini so as to translate directly to manfrotto heads?
I’m assuming you meant the plate, right?
Unfortunately, no it won’t :/ I mentioned that as one of it “flaws” in the video
Amazing!!
Thanks!!

I disagree w/ every point made and that’s completely okay 👌🏼
The Weebil S is still the better buy and $100 cheaper.
I strongly disagree!
The rs3 mini is smaller, more refined and has stronger motors
Weebil S is absolute garbage. I use it. Now I’m gunna sell it for an rs3 mini
This goes to show don’t listen to people cuz the rs3 mini is the best gimbal behind rs4

I got my own workout in this shoot 😅
Wtf do u mean mini? A new one already? :|
