Hey man! I know this is an old video but I thought it was super helpful so I wanted to say thank you and also had one question. Do you notice any sharpness lose? It’s hard to tell with TH-cam compression

GOOD STUFF DUDE!
Thanks bro! 🥹 Happy new year 🫡
It’s crazy when we tell other companies how to make money but don’t follow the same advice. 😅 Also, I think a lot of people misconstrue ‘investing in yourself’ as buying expensive gear. They treat it as an excuse. I’ve done it before. But the mentorship and education you mention is worth so much more. Congrats on offering consultation calls too!
100%! I’m guilty 😂
Great video! I just invested in mentorship too, just two weeks ago. Let’s see how it goes. I got my eyes on those Metas too, do you have any BTS videos yet?
Showed some footage on the video! Congrats on the mentorship
My buddy has the Meta glasses and I thought the same thing about using them for BTS! I also do social media for a law firm and I think these would be great for some POV content to promote our events. Glad to hear other people having similar thoughts!
They’re great!

Great stuff! Love watching your content! Keep up the great work!
Thank you bro!
Dude!! Love the turn out of the studio! Looks on point well done
Thanks brothah! 🙏🏼
Thanks for these run down and complement of the season. Please when are we seeing a video on the Rayban glasses?
I want to give it a couple of months but I may make a first impressions video
Thanks for the prompt response Anthony. I look forward to the video when you post it. Cheers.
Great video and great advice - thank you! I have a couple of questions: (1). Is the lantern softbox you're using a 65cm or a 30cm model? (2). Do you think the back/hair light would look better if it matched the amber tones of the practical lights? I realize this might require additional lighting. In the current setup, the key light for one person also serves as a backlight for the other, which is efficient. Do you think it’s still possible to add another amber-toned light as a dedicated backlight?
Are you saying that the firmware update fixed the rolling shutter effect or only fixed it when using a gimbal? Thanks for the video!
you listed all the gear, but I'm actually curious about the stand? It looks super short, (which is great if it is) could you share a link or the name? And thank you for the video!
hey Anthony! do you still use red komodo?
I don’t!
I love the bi 600f which is the bi color version of this , i have stopped using my octo:s this things are fast and lite weight, and ridiculously bright.
Was thinking about picking up an f400bi!
Glad to see this! Will be ordering a very big umbrella soon
So: One has the accessories One have the batteryes ... Compliments China!
Awesome setup for a beautiful podcast.
Does anyone know what those brown lights in the back are called, I wanna get some
You can find a bunch on amazon! I would try looking up “Edison bulbs”
If you need a gaffer let me know. I got you. 3 Ton Grip Truck and 2 RED Camera Packages.
You in Orlando?
@@AnthonyRodriguezz based in LA but willing to travel 🤝
So, is the 7' diffused umbrella your new book light too?
Kinda sorta! I will be using a book light for certain scenarios but hardly ever
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Would you have used the Godox Knowled F800R instead for this scenario if you had it?
So if I understand what you are saying is that you need to use V-Log profile in photos as well for getting utilized the real time lut feature on PHOTOS? That is lame.. I am only using FLAT profile when shooting photos on my S5 and now getting the S5II and I must to use V-log for photos as well to make the most out of this feature?
You don’t HAVE to. I just do it because then I can use my V-LOG luts that just look really good imo. You can use whatever profile you want and put your own luts for that specific profile on your camera
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Yes, thank you... I saw another video, but anyways cheers.
what lens was used to film you in your car?
Blazar Remus 50mm
720B is $1900 + 59" softbox for $260. F800R for $3300. It should be better for $1100 more. I own the F600BI and it is basically the same light for a lot less. 720B is faster to deploy, 600/800 takes up less space and looks great pushing through a 6x6 or 8x8 indoors in tight spaces. I recommend you T-Bar the 800R and skip the frame.
There’s for sure a price difference but that doesn’t necessarily equate to power output difference. I was genuinely shocked by the difference in output of the two. Which T-bar are you referring to. The 600bi is also a great option, the fact that it doesn’t have RGB is a HUGE difference though and it’s less output across the board. Still a great option though!
@@AnthonyRodriguezz its basically a telescopic pole gaffers can use to hang lights and diffusion from. Kupo makes one.
That thing looks pretty sick!
It is!
what casters are you use]ing on the kupo junior boom stand?
They’re the kupo ones! Not sure of the model number but they have casters for their combos
Definitely seems like it's aiming for people who consistently shoot room sized areas.
Wdym by room sized? Are not all rooms room sized?
Thanks, Anthony! That light does look great, but unfortunately for me, a bit out of my price range at the time. Too bad that the Forze 720B requires a junior / combo stand instead of a baby pin stand. If anyone has used an aputure 600d, I hope you can let me know if it requires a combo / junior stand or not. Thanks.
You can use the 720b on a normal baby pin! I’d just advise against it The f400bi seems like a better fit for you if you want this type of light
Car shot looks fantastic.
Thanks brother!
okay but the umbrella book light thooo
15:19 nice pickleball sock tan line too ;)

Haven’t tested it!
This guy is that "I support the current thing" guy
Which guy?
I use them for my lumix and sony
Hello Anthony, Thank you for the fantastic video! It was really helpful. I’m looking for a camera for my teaching lectures, where I’ll be standing in front of a whiteboard. I want to ensure that the focus is on both me and the whiteboard while I’m writing. Would it be better to use the FX30, or do you think the Lumix S5II would handle autofocus well in this scenario? Also, what lens would you recommend for the Lumix for this purpose? Thanks!
Hey! Having the focus be on you a the white involves alot of factors. It’s not a camera issue and answering the question of what lens is hard to do without knowing the entire purpose… Not trying to self promote but I do coaching calls! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to with a clean conscious recommend the best possible combo for you without knowing everything
Completely forgot that I updated mine via my camera since I have the lumix version! All other versions do need the dock though! Excited to hear y’alls thoughts on the lens
u asking too much for the 35-150 lens which costs 1300 usd . And you don't need the station to update firmware
The tamron one exists and these are huge issues 😂 The lens plays worse than my crappier lenses
@@AnthonyRodriguezz u're just amateur
😂 How mature of you 🙏🏼
No… I don’t think her reaction was a compliment. “It looks so serious” is code for “this is too dark, I wish it was more bright and fun”. I think you knew it too and covered the moment with a big forced laugh. I do agree that shooting shadow side is the way to make it look cinematic, but sometimes you have to find a way to also make it bright, and make it pop.
🤦🏽♂️😂 Glad you were there and can read the situation so well 👍🏼 She absolutely did not want bright and fun AND my laugh wasn’t forced whatsoever… I actually know her personally and know how she actually communicates. We ended up making the front fill slightly brighter but that was literally the only change she requested and that’s because she wear hats often. I’d try and not take your inhead assumptions as fact. It doesn’t make you look any smarter.
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Sorry for sounding negative. Glad the front fill did the job. I'm actually impressed that you rigged for shadow side lighting, I know that's much harder for a multi cam setup and most people don't bother. Totally worth it.
Ok, i wanted sony a7lv but after ur review im sure about Af in this camera, thanks will reorder it
Cmon! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Agreed not even close on AF, hell I own the a7iv which is an af powerhouse and also own the ZVE1 and the ZVE1 is noticeably better than that even!
Hey, I've been dragging my a$$ getting my review out. So long in fact I need to re-shoot some bits due to new findings. A few things that may be of interest: - The Lumix version requires no dock - The latest firmware fixed a pretty bad AF problem - You can manually over ride the AF on Lumix cams. All I had to do on my S5II is half-press the shutter while I turn the focus ring - I think the exposure bump is actually fairly common, I think I experience it on my Panasonic 24-105 too, though I never zoom in and out while recording so I've never found it an issue The biggest concern I have is in regards to the build quality, on one hand it feels like a tank on the other the plastic around the base seems cheap, it creaks under mild duress. I worry if it will become brittle over time. I was going to trade mine in the the Sigma 28-105, but the last few months I have found myself picking it up more and more, I'm going hiking this weekend and will be leaving my old faithful 24-105 in favour of this. Great vid. :)
Thanks! The half press does work but it also triggers some weird exposure things that throws off what I see on the screen. I forgot to mention about the lumix version and the firmware has fixed some of the AF issues. I will have to disagree with you about the zooming in function… some zooms don’t have this and others do BUT none of them are as bad as this 35-150… it is so incredibly distracting and the exposure doesn’t just shift, at some focal lengths it is completely different, which is a headache when color correcting.
Two Questions: Will it work on external monitors? What if you use cine cameras not listed? ZCam or Kinefinity?
Yes and I’d stick to the cameras listed.
You may want to consider adapting the EF version of the Tamron 35-150 f2.8-4
The f4 completely kills it for me
@AnthonyRodriguezz how so? It's one stop of light. In my experience, these new or Lumix cameras are pretty good up to 25600 ISO. Even 51200 with some noise reduction. And that's talking uncontrolled settings. In semi-controlled environments f4 is great - unless your really trying to blow out the background. But, for me, anything past 70mm - f4 allows for some semblance of environment in the background
@khanceptbelal I want it constant so that means I’m shooting constantly at f4 and that’s a no go for me. Plus I’d rather use native lenses on my lumix cameras
@@AnthonyRodriguezz another alternative might be the sigma 28-105 f2.8 which in crop mode would also give you close to 35-150.
@khanceptbelal yeaahhh… I’ve looked into it
I have been using this lens for a couple of months now, and I must say I am very satisfied with it. The issue with exposure changes is noticeable only if you set it to a constant F 2.8. However, if you leave the lens at F 2, it’s not noticeable at all, so I think they designed the lens to be used wide open all the time. The buttons and modes on the lens are completely unusable, which is a real shame. The weight and size are significant. The key point for me, however, is the price and optical quality. I bought it for €999 on sale, and at that price, there’s nothing comparable. The image quality is still high, and unlike Sigma lenses, it has a bit of character.
Eh… that’s a flaw. I can’t buy a lens to use for professional work that’s going to have major flaws like that and make me go through hoops. Also, if you use it at f2 and zoom, the aperture literally closes… so I’m not sure how there’s not an exposure shift
If at any moment, whether it's for future security or for higher end projects, someone believes they'll want to invest in recording RAW video the S5IIX is worth those $200. Personally I chose it over the S5II for H.264 rather than the RAW. Where I work, not everyone edits on a Mac nor last gen PCs, so I needed that codec to share footage freely with everyone. And the black design is pretty cool too, I guess :)
