What I like is the design and feel of the RS3 Mini. Nothing on the RS3Mini looks cheap, considering it's on the more affordable spectrum. You'd appreciate the sophistication and intelligence of the gimbal as you use it!
I bought the Crane M3 just before Christmas. Ended up returning it last week and ordering the RS3 Mini. The Crane M3 is a fantastic gimbal, but ultimately, the videos I’ve seen on the RS3 Mini, the creators I’ve talked to, and simply just the overall form factor and portrait mode functionality made the decision a no brained for me.
Should put the ZvE10 on the DJI and I bet you find out it doesn't work as well as the M3 with the A7C. Going to do these tests just do them individually using the same cameras on one, and then on the other. To me this is an A7C IBIS vs ZVE10. Another one I saw on the Ronin 3 vs Weebill 3 used an A7R5 on the DJI and an A7III on the Weebill. The A7RV stabilization is far superior and many are using only handles and getting very cinematic gimbal type shots.. VS an A7III? That's like an A5 vs an F22... one generation tech vs tech 3x as great Just look at the YT CC channels that say the stab on the ZVE10 is worthless... lol
I actually did try the ZV-e10 on the RS3 Mini and it did significantly better than on the M3. I would show it to you, but I just shipped it off to the person who bought it on eBay a couple days ago. I was originally planning to shoot everything on both gimbals with the a7C and have my wife video the process with the ZV-e10, but it didn’t make for a very fun video so I did them both at the same time. The M3 is a GREAT gimbal that I’ve loved taking all over the world, but it just handles a lower payload. Without the cages, microphones, Arca Swiss, and heavy lenses, the M3 could easily handle either camera, but those 4 things are a must for me. At the end of the day, I was trying to figure out what worked best for me. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video bro. Love the way you compared them with the oldschool gaming 😂👌🏼 but now id like some help. I’m having a hard time deciding between these two. The main thing I’ve been having trouble deciding between is that.. with the M3, a big selling point they make on it is you’re able to use a camera and/or phone with it. The Tamron is 19oz, and the Sigma is 36oz, but also doesn’t stick out as far. I also run my camera with a cage and a microphone that gives it extra weight. Hi, I have Zhiyun Crane M3 and Nikon Zfc camera with 16-50mm lens. Now thinking to buy Dji Rs3 Mini. What do you think? Crane m3 and Rs3 looks smiliar but rs3 mini looks like better then Crane m3... I'm so indecisive. I can not change iso, aperture, record button etc. Also Stabilization of m3 is not good for nikon zfc camera... So if gimbal is heavier then camera will be better? Rs3 not good on zfc for stabilization?
I think if the M3 is working for you, then keep it. That is not a super heavy camera, so I think the RS3 mini would work great if the M3 isn’t working.
Thanks man! No, the ibis was on on the a7C with an unstabilized lens, and the ZV-E10 had active stabilization on with a stabilized lens. It definitely wasn’t a totally fair fight, but I tried to get it as even as possible without buying another camera, which for sure would have been preferable :)
Honestly, either one would work fine with a small lens, with the exception of what I said about the button on the Zhiyun making the camera shutter a bit when you want to hold the position. I would go with the DJI personally, but the Zhiyun is also very good.
Even though the RS3 Mini is a compact gimbal, its dimensions are still quite a bit larger than those of the Crane M3. With the Crane, you simply don't stand out in public as much as with the RS3. In my eyes, this is a big advantage if you don't want to attract a lot of attention. Also you can get the Crane here where I live for 300€ new, the DJI RS3 costs at least 390€.
Yeah, you’re absolutely right… the M3 is not much smaller as far as the actual grip, but the whole package is a solid 40-50% smaller. If I had a smaller camera package with no arca swiss, microphone, or cage, I’m not sure which gimbal I’d end up with. Thanks for watching!
Can you tell me if the DJI app allows you to create presets, I will use it with a cell phone to do lives, I found your shorts doing the test with the cell phone and it worked perfectly. Earned 1 subscriber and 1 like. Thanks and Regards
@@YaleWall That's right, the points for it to move, suppose I create a preset in position 1, 2 and 3, when I'm in position 3 I just select preset 1 and it goes to position 1 automatically. Thanks
Oh, yeah, you can definitely do that. You’ll just make motion lapse points on the app and instead of hitting play to run through the whole thing, you’ll click specific points.
Hi, I got a question which is not related to gimbal 😁 I have noticed that you are using Sennheiser 400, how did you manage to get rid of the AF noise? I'm struggling with that, this mic is great however it picks the Auto Focus noise so badly. I have tried lowering the mic gain, but it did not work. Thank you for the great comparison.
Hey, no worries, glad to help! The only lens I have that makes AF noise on the mic is my cheap Sony 50mm 1.8, mostly because it’s cheap. My Sony 20mm 1.8 and Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 on my A7C, and the Sony 10-18mm f4 on the ZVE10 are all basically silent. Every once in a while it’ll pick up a little noise, but you can drop it with a compressor or a denoiser in post. At the end of the day, any good on camera mic will pick up some lens noise if it’s there.
@Yale Wall I'm using RF 50mm f1.2 which is pretty expensive however when it comes to AF noise it is not the best. Maybe because it is a photo lens. Thanks for the reply and wish all the best.
@@hitch_mb that’s a great lens, I’m surprised it has an issue! Yeah, you’ll probably have to edit it in post then. I would figure out what frequency that sound is in, cut it out with a parametric EQ, and save that as a preset for future videos. You’d rather have a great mic that gets too much, than a bad one that knocks out a bunch of needed frequencies.
Yes, the DJI plate will technically work on the Peak Design tripod like any other Arca Swiss plate. To get other Arca Swiss plates to work on the tripod, you need to unscrew a couple small screws on the sides of the head, and then it can only slide in from the side. This limits the directions that you can tilt the camera because of the way that the head is designed. I also keep a Peak Design plate on the bottom of my gimbal so that I can easily mount it to the top of the tripod. Because of all that, grinding down the Peak Design plate was the best option for me, but I’m sure will not be the best option for many others.
Ibis was on on the a7C with an unstabilized lens. Active stabilization was on on the ZVE10 and it had a stabilized lens that was zoomed out wider to match the a7C. I’m my experience, the ZVE10 with the body and lens stabilized is pretty equal if not better than the a7C… the real issue between the two is the rolling shutter issue on the ZVE10 that there is no fixing. The was I did it was the closest I could get.
I would assume the answer is yes, but you would have to try to be sure. Every single Arca Swiss plate that I had worked fine on the DJI, except for the Peak Design one because it’s a little bit taller on the bottom section. I would be willing to bet that the plate that comes with the DJI would also work and all your other Arca Swiss connectors also.
Yeah, I can understand why you would say that, but I prefer having camera shake over camera jitter. Shake just looks like the cameraman is moving, but jitter feels like something is wrong with the footage. It’s really a personal preference though.
Video was certainly fun, but very misleading, the a7c has actual IBIS, not great IBIS but still has it where the ZVe10 just has eStabilization, I’m assuming you had it off. I ran the M3 with an a7c and it was an awesome combo, if you understand its phisical limitations you can get great results. Also I found that raising the Center of Gravity on the M3 with a plate, really impacts its performance, I ordered the custom plate from Falcam to not raise the camera
Yeah, as I said in the video, it’s definitely not a fair fight. I wish I had 2 a7C’s to make it more fair, and just because I want 2 of them, lol. The ZV-E10 had stabilization on, and it has a stabilized lens, where the a7C had ibis with a non-stabilized lens. Also, as I said above, I stupidly messed up and shot a couple of the clips in 1080 on the ZVE10. At the end of the day, this was a comparison for my needs in a stabilizer. Most people aren’t going to have an external mic like me, a cage on their camera like me, or be so devoted to the Arca Swiss plate. I’ve loved the M3 and have many many great videos using it. The motors on the DJI just hold more weight and are a little smoother, which you pay for in a 25%ish larger size. To each their own. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video. For clarification, you don't need the app except for the time lapse pans or trucks that would be to hard to do by hand? Do you NEED the app for it to work?
Yeah, I stupidly shot a few of the scenes in 1080 before realizing it. For multiple reasons, the footage is definitely not even across the board because they’re 2 very different cameras. The biggest difference you’re seeing is the rolling shutter jello that happens on the ZVE10 anytime there are quick motions to the sides. Also the ZVE10 with that lens is like half of the weight of the A7C, so it sits very differently also. It tried to take all of that into consideration and just look at any jitter on the edges of trees and that kind of thing. At the end of the day, I have loved the M3, it’s just not as good for ME as the DJI. Thanks for the comment!
@@YaleWall thx for your response, your video is really helpful for me to have my mind toward the dji mini. I can't understand why this clip couldn't be spread more. Anyway for me it was really good you walked normally with the gimbal bcs I can not take the ninja walks whenever I record with a gimbal.
There is, but not a great one. The digital stabilization on the ZV-e10 is pretty close to the A7C’s ibis though. Mostly, those are just the cameras I had, so I did the closest test I could.
The thing is, the M3 costs more but the better gimbal is the RS3 Mini! I can sense a bigtime sale from Zhiyun soon. They don't stand a chance against the new mini gimbal from DJI
Actually not true. Where I live, you can get the M3 for 300€ and the RS3 Mini for 390€. I was even lucky and was able to get hold of a used M3 for 200€, while used RS3 Mini currently still cost at least 350€. 150€ difference.
It doesn’t have all the same functionality as the phone specific gimbals, but it will work. I did a video showing it if this helps: th-cam.com/users/shortsdUnlT7WgRlE?feature=share
It's time for the M3 to retire and for the RS3Mini to take over. It's hard to compete with new tech and a solid built-in stabilization algorithm from DJI. Somehow they've perfected this technology for their Ronins
It will definitely work to stabilize the camera, but the camera does not have Bluetooth so the record button will not work. It’s still a great option for that camera if you can put up with not having the record button though. Thanks for watching!
Yeah but zhiyun m3 is just $200 now so I'd go zhiyun all day long, plus is a tiny lighter, and with the inbuilt light and almost half the price zhiyun wins
To each his own, but personally I’d still pay $369 for the DJI over $200 for the Zhiyun if for no other reason than that the Zhiyun shakes really badly if you use the trigger to hold it in place, which ruins the shot. Also, DJI holds its value way better… hence the fact that the Zhiyun is now $200 new, so anyone that always owns one is going to get next to nothing when they sell theirs. But, if the Zhiyun fits you better, get it!
@@YaleWall I bet all the "extra" shaky of the zhiyun was due to the camera, the a7c I'm sure had ibis on while zve10 had no stabilization activated, I use the zve10 with the m2 and it works much better than this video with an oss lens and camera stabilization
@@andrescarrasco1248 what I’m saying is that you’re supposed to hold the trigger to freeze the location of the camera and move the gimbal around it, but on the Zhiyun, as soon as you touch the trigger the whole camera shutters and clicks into place, ruining the shot. It has nothing to do with the camera, it would happen even if all you were holding was a GoPro.
Yep, I totally agree! If you’d like to donate a camera for me to do an exact test, I’d be happy to redo it :) I put the lighter camera on the smaller gimbal and turned active stabilization on on the ZV-E10. Sorry, that’s the best I could do. Thanks for watching!
@@vtnangel No, the A7c did have stabilization on it, but it's really not great stabilization. I will say, after 3 months of continued use with the DJI, I'm more frustrated with the larger size of it, but even more blown away by how good it is. It can run a full sized A7iv with a cage and huge lens, with NO PROBLEM. It's a huge difference.
Nicely made video but the competitor to the DJI RS3 Mini is NOT the Zhiyun M3 but the Weebill S. The Zhiyun M3 has way less payload capacity (around 1kg) than the DJI RS3 Mini (2kg). Weebill S can hold around the same weight as the DJI RS3, so that would have been the correct battle. Still interesting to see how the two product compare to each other with rather light lenses on them. Greetings
I was not necessarily putting them up against each other due to similar load capacity, as much as the most "travel friendly" offering from each company. I have loved the M3, and it definitely has a place in the market. Thanks for your comment!
i have the M3 its not a good gimble somtemes he got crazy and rotate to all directions. stanalization while walking is not perfect. feel like a toy. its not a solid product that have confidence to use
Guys this is a flawed video and no conclusion can be drawn besides RS3 Mini has higher load limit (which we already knew through spec sheet). That is not a fair fight because 1. A7C IBIS is on, it is not the best IBIS but it is very decent. 2. There is no IBIS in ZVE10 but Active Stabilization is turn on, and we know Active Stab of ZVE10 is pretty junk, it stabilizes nothing. A fair fight would be to have all stabilization in both cameras turned off, and A7C shooting at 1.5x of ZVE10's focal length.
Cool, thanks for the heads up. If you watch the video on mute, you can pretend to read my lips, but actually just make up whatever story you want. That would probably be more fun than the real video anyway. Have a blast!

So you cant Connect it to phone and use autotracking objects , right?
No, you can’t
What should I go with for my a6700
Honestly, either one would work fine with a small lens, with the exception of what I said about the button on the Zhiyun making the camera shutter a bit when you want to hold the position. I would go with the DJI personally, but the Zhiyun is also very good.
Solid review 👍🏻
Thanks, man. Thanks for watching!
"Yale Wall" is the coolest fucking nickname I have ever heard. that's like the mortal combat character name
Lol, thanks man. The coolest part is that it’s my actual name. Serves me pretty well on TH-cam. Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks a lot, and thanks for watching!
Loved the comparison!
Thanks for watching!
you are very amazing!! :)) thanks for your effort
Thanks so much! Glad to have you watching :)
Cam the dji mini hold a r6 mkii?
Well done, thank you
Thanks for watching!
Informative and entertaining. Nice
Thanks for watching!
i've been waiting for a review like this! thank you!
Awesome, glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching :)
Can you tell me if the DJI app allows you to create presets, I will use it with a cell phone to do lives, I found your shorts doing the test with the cell phone and it worked perfectly. Earned 1 subscriber and 1 like. Thanks and Regards
Hey, thanks for subscribing! What do you mean by “create presets?” Do you mean points it moves between?
About the peak design, I heard that the Dji plate will work on the peak design tripods, is that true?
Yes, the DJI plate will technically work on the Peak Design tripod like any other Arca Swiss plate. To get other Arca Swiss plates to work on the tripod, you need to unscrew a couple small screws on the sides of the head, and then it can only slide in from the side. This limits the directions that you can tilt the camera because of the way that the head is designed. I also keep a Peak Design plate on the bottom of my gimbal so that I can easily mount it to the top of the tripod. Because of all that, grinding
down the Peak Design plate was the best option for me, but I’m sure will not be the best option for many others.
Did you turn off IBIS on A7C?
Ibis was on on the a7C with an unstabilized lens. Active stabilization was on on the ZVE10 and it had a stabilized lens that was zoomed out wider to match the a7C. I’m my experience, the ZVE10 with the body and lens stabilized is pretty equal if not better than the a7C… the real issue between the two is the rolling shutter issue on the ZVE10 that there is no fixing. The was I did it was the closest I could get.
Very Helpful
Glad to hear it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
on my canon m50 i have an Arca Swiss plate to work with my Tripod / all SmallRig stuff. can i use my current Acra Swiss plate with the DJI m3 mini??
I would assume the answer is yes, but you would have to try to be sure. Every single Arca Swiss plate that I had worked fine on the DJI, except for the Peak Design one because it’s a little bit taller on the bottom section. I would be willing to bet that the plate that comes with the DJI would also work and all your other Arca Swiss connectors also.
On the running test. I find that zhiyun is better. On the first run you can see the dji is much more jittery than the zhiyun that has fine jitters.
The app adds a lot of functionality, but you don’t NEED the app just to stabilize the camera.
i think you shoot at 1080 in the zv e10 right? i dont think that camera looks that soft in 4k
Please let me know hwt what did you use a mic for the gimbals
I use the Sennheiser MKE400 microphone. I’ve really loved it! amzn.to/3Ld0fWA
@@YaleWall thx for your response, your video is really helpful for me to have my mind toward the dji mini. I can't understand why this clip couldn't be spread more. Anyway for me it was really good you walked normally with the gimbal bcs I can not take the ninja walks whenever I record with a gimbal.
Isn't there Ibis in the a7c? Cuz the zv-e10 doesnt have it
There is, but not a great one. The digital stabilization on the ZV-e10 is pretty close to the A7C’s ibis though. Mostly, those are just the cameras I had, so I did the closest test I could.
Is it support canon eos 80D? (RS3 mini)
I don’t have that camera, but I’ve tested it with some pretty heavy systems and haven’t had any problems.
@@YaleWall but eos 80D is not compatibility list on rs3 mini. Is it worth buying?
I want the RS3 Mini in carbon fiber and the locking of the RS3/RS3 Pro.
I agree, that would be incredible!
I like the RS3 mini but I'm too use to my RS3 auto locking feature.
Yeah, I have the RS3 also, and the locking feature is SO NICE!
The thing is, the M3 costs more but the better gimbal is the RS3 Mini! I can sense a bigtime sale from Zhiyun soon. They don't stand a chance against the new mini gimbal from DJI
The M3 is currently a little cheaper, but not by much. The size of the M3 is still a big win, but yeah, you’re right, the RS3 Mini is a big step up!
Actually not true. Where I live, you can get the M3 for 300€ and the RS3 Mini for 390€. I was even lucky and was able to get hold of a used M3 for 200€, while used RS3 Mini currently still cost at least 350€. 150€ difference.
well im sold on the RS3 mini now
Nice! Hope you enjoy it!
Does rs3 mini support Mobile?? Can we use mobile also?
It doesn’t have all the same functionality as the phone specific gimbals, but it will work. I did a video showing it if this helps:
th-cam.com/users/shortsdUnlT7WgRlE?feature=share
It's time for the M3 to retire and for the RS3Mini to take over. It's hard to compete with new tech and a solid built-in stabilization algorithm from DJI. Somehow they've perfected this technology for their Ronins
Very true. I’m excited to see if Zhiyun hits back with anything comparable. Thanks for watching!
M4 incoming?
Dji works with the a6000?
It will definitely work to stabilize the camera, but the camera does not have Bluetooth so the record button will not work. It’s still a great option for that camera if you can put up with not having the record button though. Thanks for watching!
Awesome comparison. 9:30 made me laugh
Glad to hear it! My wife hated that joke, lol.
Unfair comparison I mean the use of different cameras
Yep, I totally agree! If you’d like to donate a camera for me to do an exact test, I’d be happy to redo it :)
I put the lighter camera on the smaller gimbal and turned active stabilization on on the ZV-E10. Sorry, that’s the best I could do. Thanks for watching!
@@YaleWall do you mean to tell us that there is no stabilization added to the a7c and it is still less bouncy?😮
If you compare it to almost any gimbal from 2-3 years ago, it’s incredible, but yeah it lacks a little today. The DJI RS3 Mini stands up!
Cool, enjoy your M3 then.
That music is really annoying.
Cool, thanks for the heads up. If you watch the video on mute, you can pretend to read my lips, but actually just make up whatever story you want. That would probably be more fun than the real video anyway. Have a blast!
