Such a rare talent. His singing and style. Unique. Such a masterful use of breath. Such richness, expressiveness and strength of tone. And all his own music. I loved him and his work when I was a teen. Only now fully appreciate him. What a blessing to have these recordings. Thanks for this post.

Love this man's singing and voice
...and so much more. A composer with absolute genius! I always hoped to see him perform for real.....but that is now impossible. Love you, Anthoney. Thank you so much that he can be viewed on this U tube.

Thank you so very much for posting the six parts to Anthony Newley's 1969 television show.I enjoyed all of them immensely/ I have loved his songs since I first heard Stop The World in 1969. Tony was an extraordinary entertainer who put so much of himself into his performances. I am grateful that so much of his music is here to appreciate.

As a kid I remember loving him and now that I can view him as an adult I realize how talented and unique he was. His songs and his performances are so emotional I find myself crying my eyes out listening to them. So wish he was still around...RIP

He was as close to perfection as anyone could be. There was no one to touch him..............

When I was a kid, Newley was always on talk shows and guest starring on everything from "The Love Boat" to “Heart to Heart." I don't think I ever stopped to think about how much talent he truly had. He was a total original, his phrasing, movements and persona were unique. His biography is as interesting as it is tragic. I have enjoyed exploring his career-the movies, the stage shows and all these wonderful TH-cam segments . Thanks for posting this show!

I've said on here and elsewhere that I think all those crazy appearances, and with Merv Griffin and so on, left him with a legacy as some sort of lounge lizard, whereas he was one of the great talents of musical theater for a while there, and certainly an influence on David Bowie and others.

I am glad you are exploring his career, the shows you mentioned should not be all he is remembered for. Tony was a genius and an extremely talented performer.
An accomplished actor, singer ,songwriter who's talent I feel will never be experienced again in my lifetime.

I have learned more about stage acting and voice in 4 min watching this video than in 2 years of acting school. The honesty, convictions, and perfect timing of everything ought to be an example of what to do on stage. clawless

My earliest memory of Tony was his performance of the Artful Dodger in the 1946 version of Oliver Twist,he was great then and continuedto improve throughout his wonderful career

They're registering pleasure at the performance of a well-known (and presumably, loved) song written by Mr. Newley. It always happens when singers perform their greatest hits. Mr. Newley just happened to sing and write all of his hits.

If only today's rockers could sing and write like old Anthony, there wouldn't be so much dreck on the radio today! The real king is dead ... long live Anthony Newley!

What a great entertainer. But the British accent was a ruse. The man was Italian. Real name Antonio Nulini. I heard him sing this song on a broadcast from Palermo. It went like this. "Justa once-sa ina my life-a-times, a man-a knows da momenta" etc. Bravo Antonio, avevi tanto talento. Riposa in pace amico mio.

An odd comment, but they dont custom make tuxedos for celebrities like that anymore. The suit moved with him like a second skin!

Why in this genre, do people clap at the beginning of a song?
